My Dungeon of Terror
11 - Fourth Floor and Challange

11 - Fourth Floor and Challange

Soon it reached 4000 and the system reminded me to evolve, but I chose to wait to accumulate enough terror points so I could create the monsters on the next floor.

I had to wait a little bit until I had enough terror points so I could fully create the new monsters.

Do you wish to evolve into a Common Low-level Demon? Yes No

As I picked yes another row of windows popped up.

Please pick a skill you wish to upgrade further from the rest of your skills. This skill will receive a greater boost than other skills in the evolution. There is a slim chance of the skill evolving into a superior version of it. >Demonic Aura< >Demonic Strike< >Demonic Whispers<

Finally, something good thing. I did not even have to think for a second as I chose Demonic Whispers. Why the Demonic Whispers and not the others? When can I use those skills anyway?

Once every decade maybe? On the other hand, if I use Demonic Whispers I can influence humans to enhance their darkest thoughts and betray their teammates for sweet words.

As I clicked on the third skill I felt energy coursing through my body much faster and I could feel that it was mana. Feeling the changes that this brought to me I opened my system window to look at my stats.

Name Dave Race Demon - (Common – Low-Level) ↑ Title Dungeon Lord Skills Demonic aura (Common - Passive), Demonic Strike (Common - Active), Devil’s Temptation (Elite - Passive) Traits Demonic nature, Psychopath, Sadist Alignment Neutral Evil Strength 73↑ Agility 65↑ Intelligence 55↑ Wisdom 49↑ Mana 522/205 ↑ Terror points 239

My stats changed drastically, but compared to the monsters I am far weaker and I could only sigh as I forgot people can only create Dungeon guardians once they reach the Higher Demonic realm as they don’t have enough mana to do so.

Soon I clicked on the Devil’s voice skill and another window popped up in front of me.

Skill Devil’s Temptation (Elite - Passive) Description

Evolved version of Demonic Whispers: This skill affects anyone who enters the user's space, causing them to hear constant whispers. However, if they focus on the whispers, they will disappear. For those who hear this voice for the first time, it will inflict a negative status effect that lasts until they leave the dungeon.

If someone enters the dungeon a second time or more, they will receive a speed boost and a luck increase; their speed will increase by 30% and their luck by 20% for one hour, and also gain a hidden debuff if they collect any treasure in this time frame.

This debuff is called ‘Tempted I.’. The more treasure the user collects and the longer this buff remains active, the more their hidden debuff of ‘Tempted I.’ will rise. Once ‘Tempted I.’ rises above a certain value, this is based on the person's willpower stat they lose control of themselves and demonize.

This debuff will slowly wear off over time once they leave the dungeon.

All my complaints were about my stats nibbed into the ground as I looked at the skill and I could project this skill across my Dungeon without it consuming mana.

They will suddenly receive a buff who will care who did it. As long they benefit from it no one will care and no one will stop it.

After finishing my evolution and making sure everything was fine, I started creating the Fourth Floor.

Gravestones rose from the ground as the light shone onto them as I made the world have a permanent sunset. It gives enough light for people to see and at the same time intervenes with their vision.

Even though the sunset looks beautiful not many know it is extremely hard to see during this time as everything can mesh together and if you face the sun's direction you will be completely blinded.

I even made the sunlight more harmful to the eyes so people can’t look at it directly or near its position.

Soon comes the monster I want to create is here.

I created a gigantic skeleton made out of as many bones as I could as I saw my mana reducing at a drastic rate yet I was not halfway down and I had to use terror points. Soon its physical body manifested in front of me at least 50 meters tall, but sadly I could not bring out the true effect of the skill I wanted as likely it would consume even more mana and I sacrificed all my mana even my Terror points.

To this day this is my strongest monster as I opened its status to take a look at it.

Name Ossivor Race Skeleton Giant Title Fourth Floor Guardian of the Terror Dungeon Skills Monstrous Strength (Passive), Combine (Passive), Item possession (Active), Soulrend (Active), Fake Death (Passive), Mind Blast (Active) Traits One-man army (Special), Everyone counts (Special), Giant(Passive) Strength 192 (Complete) Agility 80 (Complete) Intelligence 70 (Complete) Wisdom 126 (Complete) Mana 400/400 (Complete)

I thought I went overboard, but looking at this monster I did not think so anymore. Just the stats crush anyone in the same realm and look at its massive size as it slowly dissembles in front of me. Thankfully I upgraded my chamber otherwise there would be no space left for us to move at all.

Soon it turned into many skeletons and moved into the Fourth Floor.

Looking at the army leaving I saw many different types of skeletons and wraiths too.

Each one possesses a part of the Floor Boss complete skill section. The skeletons gained combine and fake death ability while the wraiths got the Item possession, Soulrend, and Mind Blast skills.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Skill Combine (Passive) Description

You can merge your body with other skeletons devoid of soul remnants, making you stronger.

Skill Item possession (Active) Description

Your soul can control weapons and move them as you desire, but this requires mana. You can possess any object, but if the object has a spirit, occupying it will consume mana and may fail, which could result in your death.

Skill Soulrend (Active) Description

Unleash a torrent of attacks at your opponent and each attack causes the soul pain and cannot be blocked physically at all and only magic or soul protection equipment can protect the user from the attack.

Skill Fake Death (Passive) Description

Upon death, this skill activates and makes the user enter a hibernation state losing all control over the body. This skill effect lasts for 2 hours and after the time limit is up the user's body is fully repaired, but this skill will be blocked if any of the user body parts are under the effect on combine and as long as the person who used combine on the user is alive this skill will not resurrect the user.

Skill Mind Blast (Active) Description

Unleash an extremely powerful attack on an opponent that consumes 80% of the user's mana, this attack's strength will be based on the user will power and the opponent's willpower.

Trait One-man army (Special) Description

Your soul was born from a collection of soul remnants you can separate yourself into many thoughts that can operate independently and once these thoughts body's are destroyed they are recombined with you, but by this, you suffer a mental attack.

Trait Everyone counts (Special) Description

Your body is divided into many parts, each operating independently from your control, yet all share a common goal: to reunite. The more parts you gather, the stronger you become. Your strength will increase based on the number of parts you can successfully combine. If you manage to combine all the parts, you will achieve complete status and receive a 20% stat bonus for 30 minutes.

Trait Giant(Passive) Description

You are a massive creature, and as such, your strength is far greater than others. However, your speed is lower due to your size, even though your strength increases with it.

Now we are talking about human wave tactics. The more undead die the stronger the Floor Guardian will be when they face him at the end, but how can they avoid the Guardian from gaining its full strength? I don’t know and I hope they don’t find any way to do so.

Feeling tired I went back to sleep as spending so much mana at once tired me.

Prey. Moves in team. Use weapons to hunt my people.

Make me angry. I am angry.

I see them kill the last of my people.

The chain no longer hinders me as I want to move forward.

Revenge will be mine alone.

The usual thought of Arozen as he saw his people getting killed as he could do nothing against it and every time he failed he felt endless guilt towards his failure.

He learns from prey. He adapts.

***

“Join us!” I could only say it, but instead, they gave a horrified or angry look as they attacked me.

Why hurt? Why not join us in an endless blissfulness. You no longer have to worry about anything as your mother, I will take care of you.

But they resisted. Why resist? This world only brings you pain, but I as your mother will no longer let you suffer!

Fire? Who dares to use such a thing here? Unforgivable! They must be punished, but sadly the chains prevent me.

Sorry my children but mother can’t help you, you need to be strong so something like this won’t happen to you. As a mother, I failed to protect you all.

Without context, this would make many people sad, but knowing who said it changes this from warm to extremely disgusting.

Yes, I am talking about Anansi.

“Go left!” I said it, but they did not agree with me as they went right and we soon reached another dead end.

“I told you to go left, beacuse they left that way!” I could only roar at the others as they did not want to listen to me at all.

“Last time you said left we also reached a dead end.” Hissed the snake head as it looked at our back so no one could suddenly ambush us.

“That was because I got caught up in your fight about what to eat and could read the labyrinth directions well.” I said this as the lion head as I am the most majestic and I am this body's true owner and controller, but these guys take that from me!

“Hahaha, did you forget we share the same body so your thoughts are no secret from the others?” Laughed one of the dog heads as it said this.

The other could only laugh quietly at their fight as they did not stop moving forward to hunt down anyone they found in the labyrinth.

***

“Where…?” A voice asked as it tried to look around, but only darkness was seen and nothing else.

This soul that flew in the darkness soon had another soul joining it.

Once more the question came, but from all the souls at the same time.

“Where…?” Their voices were synchronized together without a flaw and all had the same emotionless voice.

But one soul said something different.

“There…” As it said this it turned towards another direction and the other souls hearing this all followed closely behind it, but soon they all were dissembled to one soul.

Their mournful cries could be heard and their anger as they are separated from each other.

The extremely pale white color which they previously had changed into a reddish color to it now.

Soon they all separated into different bodies as they had only one thought in their mind to combine into one once more, but they had to take revenge on anyone trying to stand in their way.

But there was one that was different from the rest.

“Like… us... help… them…” Listening to it all others turned towards it as they realized it was the one who led the way and they did not feel hatred for it, but rather fanaticism.

Soon they felt souls different from them as they arrived at their place. They knew they were once like them, but no longer they are free from mortality and they must free others too.

This was the first thought of many skeletons and wraiths once they saw anyone who wasn’t part of them.

If there was no one they would fight against each other to combine and dissemble as they knew the core part that held them together was not here, but they would do anything to find it.

***

As I looked over the floors I saw some differences in the Floor Guardians, but I could not pinpoint what it was.

Just as I was thinking my peaceful days were ahead of me I got a notice from Hell.

Someone challenged me over a dungeon battle. I was shocked at first then clueless.

Who is it why is he targeting me and why now of all time when I was ready to cosy up in my bed to watch others suffering?!

Now my whole day is ruined.

You may ask what is this dungeon challenge? Dungeon Challenges can be initiated by anyone to anyone. So even a Lesser demon can challenge an Elite Demon, but no one would do such a thing as it was a sure loss, but the one who challenged me was a Higher Level Demon.

I can accept the challenge or decline, but that would be judged as I lose and that means the victor can do whatever he wants to my dungeon.

Looking at when the challenge happens I have one-week time on my hand.

This is more than enough for me to prepare. When this dungeon challenge happens I can pick 3 monsters from my side to fight against his 3 monsters.

This was made so the matches wouldn’t last long and there wouldn’t be an all-out fight between dungeons as the victor wouldn’t gain anything if the loser sacrificed everything in his dungeon to win the match.

But what should I do in this time frame? Save up for an Overseer? The best case scenario as I forgot about the Dungeon Challenge as I did not talk to anyone from the Banquet or is this newbie crushing or trying to remove me and place one of his henchmen in my place?
