My Dungeon of Terror
07 - Third Floor (1)

07 - Third Floor (1)

Several days passed as I decorated my chamber with all kinds of gems I found on my floors. These can range from the human eye to diamonds.

After I became a demon my artistic asterisk upgraded greatly.

Just seeing it makes me happy, I also started drawing, but sadly I have no talent for it as the images could not grasp the person's mind, but only his body as they are half alive.

But soon my terror points crossed 200 thousand and I was ready to create the third floor and I already knew what it would look like.

Labyrinth with several treasures. The monsters? The treasure itself.

Imagine finding a gold hill and the gold hill turning into a giant monster the moment you take too much treasure from it.

Soon I hit the evolution button in the system that popped up and irritated me for a whole day to press it.

I could feel my strength rise after the energy finished channeling itself through my body.

Name Dave Race Demon (Lesser – High-Level)↑ Title Dungeon Lord Skills Demonic aura(Lesser), Demonic Strike (Lesser), Demonic Whispers (Lesser) Traits Demonic nature, Psychopath, Sadist Alignment Neutral Evil Strength 43↑ Agility 36↑ Intelligence 32↑ Wisdom 37↑ Mana 205/0 ↑ Terror points 244

Similar changes to the previous evolution with nothing major happening other than gaining a new useless trait.

Why can’t I gain like the ones my minions have? They are so powerful and mines are useless.

Shaking my head at it I turned my attention back to the third floor as it was bare bones currently, but its size double compared to the Second Floor.

It was huge and I wondered just how big would be in the future. Will there be a limit for it or they keep expanding infinitely?

Not caring about it anymore I created the labyrinth. The walls are made out of stone and I strengthened them as much as possible and made them slippery so no one will try to climb them up, but if they fly up I will create a few monsters for that job.

First of all, the wall's height is 10 meters and 4 meters wide. (32.80 in ft and 13.12 ft wide)

Above the walls is an extremely heavy fog with a new monster in it.

This monster has a big mouth on its small body and has long arms and because it is not favorable for it to move in a labyrinth that is too narrow for it, it mainly moves above the labyrinth sometimes encountering adventurers it will try to grab them, but they pose no real threat as long as you don’t climb up as they use mainly their sense of smell and hearing.

After all, in the fog, they are blind so why not make them fully blind?

I could imagine when two such monsters do not see each other and just collide with each other as they try to catch adventurers.

It has 6 arms and no legs as the arms function as legs for it as it moves on the labyrinth and each arm is around 13 meters in length and extremely slim making one question how can such an arm bear the weight of its body at all. (42.65 ft)

The first monster is ready and the next one comes.

The next monster is a gold pile made out of gems as they move around the labyrinth and collect all kinds of gems they can find. They won’t fight against each other and will be extremely territorial as they won’t leave their territory no matter what.

Their strength will be based on how much or rare the materials they absorb into their bodies making them collect all the items the adventurers had on them.

As long the item is part of the monster it will not deteriorate no matter how long time passed by.

Their main body is an extremely small magnetic ball that functions the same as a golem core, but unlike golems, these monsters can get bigger and stronger, but don’t regenerate like the golems once they suffer injury they need treasure to repair that part of the body.

Because the Labyrinth walls are the same as the floor gems have an extremely high chance of being created on the walls or inside of it, but this greatly enchants the dungeon Floor's ability to collect and create more treasures.

With two monsters down I need to create more.

A treasure monster is good, but I need more so adventurers are not forced to attack that monster only and hunt them down to extinction.

The next one is a giant plant that has a flower in the center of its body like how the Florasiths operate. They gather vitality in the center of this flower that gives off a scent that lures adventurers into its giant mouth.

The teeth are hidden in the lush grass that it creates around its body and they like to live in dead ends where the different kinds of lush weeds can thrive.

But for their great strength, they have 0 mobility as they are locked down to one area.

As I created more and more monsters, I began to realize something: How would they find all the monsters in the labyrinth? Even if the adventurers break down all the walls, it will take a long time to map everything out. Many monsters roam freely, and not all of them will attack adventurers unless provoked, like the monster made of gems and gold.

With gems and herbs done, I thought about making an extremely strong monster that chases and hunts down people.

There will be a few and they will have a complete image of the labyrinth in their heads so they won’t go to dead ends or will do by chasing their prey and trapping them there.

The monster will have a humanoid body with a massive frame standing 6 meters tall. Its arms resemble pillars, and its legs are similarly sturdy and durable, enabling it to withstand numerous attacks. (19.68 ft)

As I made the monster more and stronger my terror points got reduced by a whopping 50 points before I finished it, it drained me an additional 50 points making me cost around 1200 mana points to fully create.

For other demons this most likely will be a floor Guardian, yet for me, this will be a monster that chases people around.

These won’t stop until they kill the adventurers once they see them with their one massive eye. Yeah, you guessed it right Cyclops.

Their all equipped with a giant gauntlet that protects their fist.

Why not give them weapons? In a narrow labyrinth for such a massive monster how will it move or turn around with it?

Maybe in the future, I might add more monsters to the Labyrinth, but for now, there are enough.

The whole floor has around 1000 such a monster all scattered around.

The first-floor monster capacity went from 50 to 70, the second floor now has around 500 monsters and most of them are parasites.

With everything done, I lay comfortably in my chair as I looked at my room full of art. I should get an artist kidnapped so he can teach me how to paint and draw as I felt my collection missing too important elements in it.

But then I was hit by bad news, I have to participate in some kind of ball.

I only know I have to go there and I cannot be absent from it no matter what.

Whoever sent me this message likely sent it to many others, but should I go? What benefit do I gain from it? What is their plan to call me alone or many other demons there?

Scratching my head, I thought about how to get there and I got news that a portal would be opened in my chamber which leads me to the ball entrance.

I knew from this message I couldn’t refuse it as I could go there so could people come to my chamber. Just who heck they are and what do they want?

Guessing that many people got it like me too, but how many and how widespread is this? Shaking my head as I asked for a skull I found extremely pleasing to hold in my hand.

“Should I go?” it was not a big skull or small, but perfectly fit my hand as I understood why those people loved to hold a human skull, it felt like talking to someone who understands you and can calm the mind as worms moved from one eye socket to the other.

“Damn, I just cleaned it now!” I smashed the skull on the ground as I trampled the worm under my feet in frustration I destroyed a few of my ugly art concepts that I did not like that much before.

“Really man you needed to accept this mission and from this dungeon? Why on earth did you accept this instead of a safer one, do you know the death ratio of this dungeon?! More than 70% of the people who enter this dungeon!” I said while holding my head as I saw him showing me how much money we could make out of this mutated dungeon.

“But man look they give us a ton of money for it and we gain even more if we bring any new material we can find in the dungeon.” Said while not giving any thought to what I said.

“Fine, fine how much do they give for you not to care about this dungeon at all?” I could only look at how much they give and I sucked in cold breath at looking at the zeros.

A total of 400,000 gold coins, with five zeros after it!

For the rest of our lives we can live off of such an amount of money, but why do they give so much for it?

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“You might be curious why this is so high, right? This is a new type of monster with extremely high regeneration ability better than trolls and being a plant type making it more compatible with other incidents as I heard many new types of potions were made from this monster material.” Said this ass with such a wide grin that I could hardly ignore it as I had the same for myself.

“Are you in for a wild ride?” Said my friend Otto in front of me.

How could I back off from this small mission? Otherwise, I wouldn’t be the bravest warrior around here, no I mean the bravest thief!

My job is a rare class with my friend Otto also being one which is the thief.

Sounds bad, right? Well, it is, the class's main job is to steal from other people's items, but we can steal items or part of the monster we aim for, so we don’t need to fight them to gain their loot, we can steal it from them.

But this also pisses off the monsters and makes them berserks which strengthens them if we steal from them making our job harder.

“So when will we do it?” I asked back instead of answering as Otto already knew my answer.

“Tomorrow, I already bought two spots for ourselves as all the others are full of other people who aim for the same as us.” Said Otto as he grabbed his head knowing how hard he fought for the two spaces only.

He wanted to bring in more people so they could be safer with more people, but who knew everyone aimed for this same monster? The alchemist demands this kind of monster that only lives in this lone dungeon and does not appear in other dungeons at all.

If this monster existed in other dungeons he would go for that dungeon, but there is none!

Otto fears his life more than anyone else, but wealth is his weakness.

So without further ado, we prepared ourselves to delve deep into this dungeon.

***

In the morning the next day in front of the dungeon, I waited for Otto to arrive as I checked my equipment only to hear a voice behind me.

“Oh man, I almost couldn’t recognize you, Matthew.” Said a person I turned around only for my mood to plummet from indifference to hostility.

The person in front of me is Jackson famous thug in the underworld for extorting people and he also tricked me when I started as a thief a few years ago.

“Shut up, Jack! You still owe me 20,000 gold coins!” I snapped back, not giving him a chance to respond. Just then, Otto arrived, and I turned to him. Behind me, Jack shot me a furious look while his cronies laughed at him for being embarrassed by his old friend.

“Just wait Matthew, I pay you back for this.” Jack murmured it under his nose as no one heard it, but his eye gleamed with dangerous thoughts.

Soon the dungeon was opened as the previous group left only with 22 people from the 50.

With a bit of rest, we entered the dungeon.
