My Dungeon of Terror
03 - Floor Guardian

03 - Floor Guardian

As we came inside the dungeon what awaited us was a foggy forest, you could barely see around yourself.

Damn, I hate fogs so much.

Just moving around this fog is a pain in the ass.

As I shook these thoughts from my head I heard our captain yelling once more. Can’t you shut up for a few seconds you already told us about the information from the military what is there more to speak?

“Everyone move in formation and keep a close eye on your teammates.” Said the captain as he moved into the middle of the formation so he could oversee everything better and be protected all the time.

With that, we started our march. We heard screams, but no one is missing and likely the dungeon feature.

Some mages noted this information down as we advanced.

Even if we fail we can gain considerable amounts of money from selling this information.

We had to stop from time to time as mages gathered different herbs that grow in dungeons. These herbs don’t grow anywhere else, but in dungeons so making them extremely valuable as they have much greater effects than those back home.

Just as I thought nothing going badly red eyes lit up in the fog.

“Prepare for battle the monsters are here! Tanks outside damage dealers behind them and mages and priests in the inner circle.” As the captain said this he stayed in position while everyone moved to the position.

As for me? I am a hunter aka I enjoy the safe inner circle protection.

I pulled the string of my bow not too back as it consumes too much stamina to keep that position long.

Many people mistakenly think pulling up a bow and keeping it in a position is easy, but it is an extremely hard and stressful thing to do to the body.

Soon create came out of the fog and their numbers were over 10!

I can see more coming this way, but even if they have the numerical advantage we can defeat them easily.

When the tanks and the monsters clashed our tanks were forced back from just the first collision.

“Agh! Damn it! They have super strength!” Said one of the people who tasted it first-hand.

I could see his arm shaking from blocking the monster's attack.

“Magic missle!”

“Fire Ball!”

“Ice Lance!”

Soon row of magical attacks came at the monsters from the inner circle and I also activated my skill-piercing arrow.

It is not necessary to say your skill out loud to activate, but it gives your teammates information about what ability you will use next making it mandatory if you fight with other people to say your skill out loud if they can affect an area.

Soon my arrow passed through the people and hit the monster in the head piercing its skull and killing it.

You killed a Wendigo! You have gained 60 experience points! You leveled up!

A smile came to my face as I heard I leveled up.

I gained 5 stat points from the level-up.

Thinking for a bit I assigned them to agility and strength. 2 for strength and 3 for agility.

Feeling the energy coursing through my veins I could never get used to it as it felt like intoxicating.

Soon we killed over 14 wendigoes and rested for a bit then continued our journey.

At this rate, we will clear this dungeon in no time.

But I felt something was off. There are more monsters, but they aren’t attacking us at all.

I knew something was up, but what it is? Does the dungeon Lord know no matter how many of these useless creations come at us they are worth nothing and he rather faces us himself?

Not like I care at least it makes our job easier.

Soon we reached the staircase that leads us to the Dungeon Lord's chamber.

As we descended suddenly the front stopped who most likely reached the bottom, but why stop!?

“Keep moving and don’t stop!” The leader was clearly impatient as the front stopped, but suddenly after hearing their leader they came back to their senses and moved aside for everyone to be shocked too.

There is a second Floor.

How do I know this is not the Dungeon Lord’s chamber? A staircase leads to the dungeon Lord's room like when you descend, but once you descend the Dungeon Lord’s chamber a door will await you, and behind the door is the Dungeon Lord.

But there is no door which means this is a floor and I knew I saw it right this dungeon evolved in just a short amount of time.

This information must be brought back as soon as possible as a dungeon that can evolve this fast is extremely dangerous. There was one in the past that evolved extremely fast and humanity paid a heavy price to destroy it back then, but there is one more.

“Everyone prepare for a march as we must finish this dungeon as soon as possible.” Said the leader as he had different thoughts.

If he can clear this dungeon his guild fame will rise extremely and he might be promoted to vice. Guild master and he no longer has to worry about going every day into dungeons to make a living, but can lay back and enjoy life.

I could only sigh and comply with the captain's orders.

When in the dungeon the captain of the raid has total authority over anyone else and anyone going against the captain's order can be executed on the spot.

This was to combat the monster's skills that can bewitch people.

But I saw greed in the mage's eyes too who had the second most influence in the group as I realized they already spoke with the leader and I knew what those mages wanted.

There is an extremely rare herb that grows in the dungeons and only on floors where there is an extremely harsh blizzard.

Blizzard eye.

These flowers are worth extremely big money as they are capable of raising the maximum of mana of a user by 5 points.

The more you level up the harder it will be to gain stats so the only possibility is using different types of potions or herbs to raise it.

This resulted in these first useless herbs becoming the most prized among all herbs.

Titles are the only thing that is worth more than these stat-raising items.

I could only sigh at our fate for having such bad luck as I prepared myself for the monsters that exist on this floor at least twice as strong.

It did not take long as monsters came from towards us.

First, a monster that is at least twice the size of a normal human and is extremely muscular, but has slow speed.

Our tank which wanted to test the monster's strength was sent flying and took our priest a considerable amount of time to bring him back to life, but we knew we couldn’t face that monster directly.

I tried to use piercing arrows on it, but it only scratched its surface as it did not deal any big damage to it.

Mages were in similar positions.

But came the second problem as we tried to retreat a shadow bypassed us and took 2 mages' lives as most tanks focused on the giant monster in front of us resulting in a gap that this monster utilized.

Just as everything went downhill a sword pierced my chest.

The sword was taken out and blood gushed out of my wound as I saw a small worm going inside me.

I could only shockingly look behind me it was the captain.

Saying it was as if half of his face was melted and the other half smiling at me.

I felt my strength leave my body as the person who was sent flying out was the captain back then he might have been taken over and now I am infected too.

Feeling my strength leaving me I raised an arrow and pierced the captain's head, but looking around I knew we were doomed as more and more people were turning into monsters.

Soon darkness engulfed my vision as I lost too much blood.

Looking at how they got massacred I was shocked.

They took down Wendigoes so easily, yet they got annihilated in no time.

I could only scratch my head about how useless they are.

Soon my interest was drawn to the parasites that took over their bodies.

They moved like zombies without aim and showed no signs of intelligence and they even attacked other monsters.

Of course, they got destroyed and the parasites did not invade them at all.

Just as I thought the parasites were a failure I saw one host different from the rest. If I remember it was the hunter right?

His face is already unrecognizable, but instead of attacking the monsters on the floor as he started consuming the flesh of his dead teammates.

Soon its body became bigger and more grotesque as green spots appeared on its body as it grew in size.

The green bulbs had parasites in them and it could no longer walk, but crawl on the ground as his size became too massive for his legs.

It was interesting in the first minute, but it became boring and I was not interested in seeing its stats as most likely it only had his strength increased.

Soon I turned my attention back to myself.

Just this wave gave me 114 terror points and I need for my second evolution 2000 terror points.

11 terror points what should I do with it?

I soon thought about creating a Dungeon Guardian.

It is so boring being alone here all the time, but I can’t create an intelligent guardian yet, so I would waste all my mana on it.

So instead I thought about creating a Dungeon Floor Guardian.

There is a difference between the two. One just overseas one Floor while the other is all the Floors and there can be multiple Overseas and they can travel to any dungeon while Floor Guardians there can only be one for each floor and people are forced to fight them as they can skip them, but they cannot challenge me, if they don’t defeat all the Dungeon Floor guardians.

Then they have to face the Dungeon Guardians.

How can I create them when only Greater Demons can create them?

The reason why only Greater demons can create them is because of the lack of mana, but I have now around with my terror points over 1000 mana, more than enough to create one.

Soon I started my planning, but another batch of humans entered my dungeon making me wait until they got wiped out to commence my plan.

But first of all, let me imagine what the first Boss looks like.

For a normal Wendigo, I first created it consumed around 40 mana.

There is sadly an upper limit to how strong a Floor Guardian can be, but it will scale according to its challengers, but if the invader's levels are too high he can be easily taken down.

Let’s see first of all it should be a Wendigo too.

A normal size of a Wendigo is around 2 meters + antlers which is different for each one.

Let's double it and give it some skills too that can infect fear in others and should be hard to kill so they suffer from facing it too long.

Soon another party was wiped out and I commenced my guardian creation.

A massive creature appeared on the first floor and unlike its kin, it did not attack the invaders outright or chase them, but only when all other Wendigoes were dead.

Of course, it can be drawn out by special items, but it is best to face it as the last and only opponent.
