The sun had surrendered to the waning moon and Mr. Garret walked within the sight of the dark alley, he followed only the aroma of gin and beverages, the sweet face of Eleanor was quite evident in his eyes yet he had only wished to forget her.

“Sir?” Her brilliant chuckle, her gorgeous eyes that could only wean the attention to her nice personality, her smile that may provide such a hankering desire to anyone, perhaps he had found only regrets within himself and thought and wished to witness her once again in his abode.

“Sir?” her voice that harmonised well with the traits of her face, the soft humming of her when she used to busy herself with cooking, perhaps his reverie had withered away with only the poignant thoughts of her.

“Sir?” He could not understand what to make of his stay here in England with the vacancy of such a lovely lady, perhaps he tended to run back to his abode and hold Eleanor in his arms once again.

“Sir?” he looked round the alley and found no presence of any other soul but only himself. His thoughts only ventured to loneliness, perhaps the fact that there would be no person to welcome him had writhed under his patience.

“Sir, do you love me?” he followed the dimly light passage, a light of hope perhaps though he was only met with a woman standing, perhaps a whore as the candle kept on burning her skin as a man enjoyed awhile tormenting her. He walked on.

“Sir?” he could still hear the clear words of her, her soft voice so gracefully delicate with such gratified sound, no matter his toilsome effort he still could not efface her voice and memories. “Sir, You must pay!” he turned round, “Pay for your sins, sir, that is the only way towards your peace!” and witnessed the same giant shadow lurking behind him, “Your time is over, you must pay!” he ran and ran and ran, “Pay for the sins John!” and turned to every corner, yet there were only whores all the time. He ran forward once again, in such small hope of escape yet the shadow kept on getting closer, his breath seemed to desert him until someone drew their hand out, held and covered Mr. Garret under their protection, he was pushed to the wall and he experienced a very sweet aroma, perhaps of a woman.

“I wonder why are you running mister?” Her face bore some scars yet he held her to a high standard of beauty, Mr. Garret tended to ignore her and continued to survey the surroundings, perhaps for the shadow, and once he was to no avail in finding the monstrous figure he took a breath of relief.

“Thank You very much lady,” said he.

“For what?”

“For Saving me,” she looked rather confused.

“Was there a burglar chasing you?”

“No, I have been haunted by a monster for quite a long time,”

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

“Oh so you have an imaginary friend?” she chuckled at her own words.

“Now I do not know whether he is real or not but I am very feared of his existence,”

“Well is there anything that I may help to cease your fear?” her tone only hinted towards the hankering intention.

“Lady, are you a whore?”

“At a Certain Price, yes,”

“And may I know what is your price?”

“Oh you are such a baby that for you I will settle for only a shilling,” she whispered to him. Mr. Garret ran his fingers through the purse and found some shillings, Before offering he examined her and found that her eyes had the resemblance with Eleanor, he held her hand and delivered the requested amount.

“Should we indulge here?” asked she.

“No, I would love a bed,”

“Very well, follow me,”

The house only held a stink otherwise it was most suited for his needs, he walked in and was thrown onto an enormous bed, he leered at her as she revealed her bare skin, excluding some scars she had a nice body.

“Should you be kind enough to undress yourself?” asked she, he obliged and bore no clothes after that, she lay down with him and ran her fingers through his naked skin, Her lips looked so kissable that he held her head and forced himself to kiss her.

Mr. Garret was thrown away the next morning, with only a shilling left in his wallet. He rose and wandered round the town and decided upon to return home, alluding to the pang moment that was waiting for him yet he held his hope while he stood against the house. Mr. Garret walked in, amusing himself and praying that he may find the face that he was eager for though he was only met with vacancy of her. The sweet aroma and the graceful humming were effaced and the thought that he may never be graced by her ever again, he sat down and whimpered, followed by his exclamation, the pain and suffering that he dared to love someone, so dearly and so kindly that he was only to be deserted once again. He rose and left the house in a sudden hurry.

Evelyn was so accustomed to surveying the outside element of the prison as she was returning to her cell after a hard toilsome work, The grass was gamboling with the wind, and a child was romping with his great laughter, he had reminded her of Jenny, how lovely he was before such cruel incident, she wondered what had become of her and her family if those farmers had not dared to take that horrible steps, though soon her peaceful leer was hindrances by the sudden appearance of Mr. Garret.

“Evelyn, I require your help!”

“Sir you are looking so miserable at the moment, What had happened?” asked she.

“Forget about my appearance, you must ask Eleanor to come see me one more time, will you be kind enough and do that?”

Evelyn waited to respond, she had understood what she must say, Mr. Garret stood tall and waited patiently for her to answer, he was in no mood to resign.

“Sir I am afraid she may never meet you ever again,”

“Why are you saying that?”

“She has grown in that way, it does not matter how much she loves you she will find herself in discard with a thought of meeting you,”

“Still will you attempt to convince her for my sake?”

“I will but I should not give you false hope sir for you are the most important person for my sake, now sir you shall go and take a sweet bath, perhaps you should read my letters afterward,”

“How do I know that she has not played with the letters any further?”

“Well she craves for my freedom as much as I want and so I am sure that she had not touched any part of my story with only the exception of such mentions that had revealed her identity, now sir you shall go as I am only to smell such beverage right now.”

Mr. Garret nodded with no words to ponder and he left the prison, he had hoped so much that Evelyn would come to help though in his eyes he had understood that there was a very saddened possibility that he may never see Eleanor ever again.
