“No matter of the importance occurred in the entire week before the new proprietor ceased their matter of hindrance onto their arrival, day awhile I was detained to ready the meals and Jenny was playing outside with the amounts of sands, a lady and a gentleman appeared with their greetings, and my mind settled the new course of our life, I welcomed them and they surveyed the store before occupying it, I did not know what plan they had concealed upon for this ruined store but they seemed, perhaps excited enough to give me some farthings to find food before I could take my departure. Now we were to pour ourselves to the street again as we had no shelter anymore. I was devastated and Jenny was saddened as well. Now sir, this money that they had provided to me I had thought of it to save for any matter that requires the exact moment of urgency though the incredulity message to my heart to spend it even in unaided scenery for just a mere satisfaction, yet I was enabled to the success in this regard. We slept at night under the same bridge and when the sun came up, I was to spend my time collecting food from other restaurants or stalls for our belly to have at least something. I could need no further look to have my hopes shattered as our future was in a position to daunt us, it felt as if it was a confirmation of no happy memories in the future that might have forced me to take the quarrelling matters in my hands if we had dared to leave this behaviour. Those handsome poles of bridges were quite often rugged with the ants that were to abide by their standards which was a problem in our stay as well. Now a week had elapsed, and I was told on many occasions by the strange men, that to not waste my vivacity and that I may not be the same once the child bears me forever, to make greater use of my body and have myself employed in a whore house, yet I was not to confer to their words. Jenny had made some friends, the kids with bad luck, and his day was often surpassed with fun activities as if he had no valid intention to stay gloomy, yet perhaps those gory blood of our uncle were always ready to provide a sense of aloof to him when he was playing and fell to an injury, so he spotted blood from his knee and fell unconscious for a day, he was disgusted to his guts. Though the time was flowing blandly and I was yet to be employed for the cause of my pregnancy and yet soon we were not so much in trouble, yes the food was lesser but we had made a habit for ourselves. One night when we were settled well under the same bridge and the moon was shining brightly that no darkness could prevail, I saw her, the same old lady that resembled a witch. At first glance, I hesitated with my own choices, whether I should go and talk with her or let it slip away. I brooded over this idea till my spirits turned up to my thoughts, in which I confidently thought of a better future, to have myself work in a nice house in which the proprietor would allow Jenny to stay with me. I hastened to meet with her and as my foot ran I looked at her, and she looked at me.
“Oh dear, you are the same person with whom I had talked to a few days back,” I said while recovering my lost breath. My sudden appearance caused her a great surprise and as she talked, I faced a congenial question.
“Oh my, what are you doing here? Weren’t you received an offer of a marriage by a very wealthy person?”
“No…. Never, I wonder who has made an idiot of you? Why would a wealthy person propose to me? They all have a lady being ready for themselves since they are a kid,”
She paid her attention to me with those tumultuous eyes, and my words stimulus annoyance in her as she chafed my hand and whispered.
“Perhaps that was not so true, come here with me,” she commenced to drag me within herself, I looked behind and spotted Jenny, he was delighted to be with his friends so I left him behind and walked with the lady. She stopped when we were freed from any disturbance, she began to talk.
“Dear, I do not know who had dispersed these rumours but do not dare to talk regarding our purpose of the meeting, I do not wish to let everyone know,”
I nodded to her and said, “I will not tell any person about this, I will have my mouth shut,”
She gave me her look of trust before she surveyed the surroundings round us, then she turned upon me once again.
“Do you have any farthings now?”
At first, my thoughts were ceased by my hesitation as it was regarding the money derived from the store’s new proprietor, I had ensued this money to be avail for an urgent matter but then I wondered if I was to be free from my sin then I may be avail myself to find an employment, I nodded and agreed to her words.
“I do have and it will be sufficed,”
“Very well then, shall we proceed now?”
“How much time will it consume?”
“No more than a blink, you must come with me now,”
I agreed and walked with her, we sipped down through a dark valley where only the peremptory men that only had the desire for alcohol lay, we passed it and then she stopped against a very common house, the wistful feelings had pummelled me to my bones as women were roaming round the house, perhaps whores. I understood it quite perfectly that awhile I was there I was without my consent being designated a whore, least in their eyes as only they could dare to prevent the unborn child, perhaps they were present there for the same cause as well.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
“Dear, be content with them while I am gone, do not fall prey to their scrutiny,” the old lady said, targeting the other women before she dispersed inside the door. I obeyed her behest and waited for ten minutes, I was annoyed and to leave as my limited patience was coaxing me, Some more minutes elapsed and her betrayal felt more conducive, My thoughts were awash with no valid reason to stay there, though the moonlight was comical, not in any aspect of badness it was shining as if an angel had tumbled down, this gorgeous view had delivered patience of another few minutes. While My attentive eyes were stolen by the moon she appeared behind me, her hand was wistful of a piece of cloth that seemed as if something was wrapped within it.
“Dear, get me those farthings,”
I obeyed her words once again as I placed my hand on my bosom and took out the coins.
“Do not dare to let your little brother come near it, you must have it for yourself only, and you must have it with some water, do you understand?” She chafed my hands for one more time and when she deserted my hand I was holding the same piece of cloth.
“Now you must leave me, go away.” Her face had the hint of insinuations, I obeyed, returned as I remembered her words to not make any suspicion of it so I moved deftly and with such confidence, though at the time I did not know any whence for her anxiety though now if I hold the possession of my thoughts, I am quite avail for pointing out the reason for her worries as her countenance was so prominent as if she was attempting to conciliate me, perhaps for making any use of those medications. Now, sir, I must and I will stop here, you shall go to your way for now,”
Mr. Garret had his fingers ordered to stop as Evelyn declared her mind. He looked up at her with an expectation of her perseverance.
“Perhaps if you can continue at the moment----”
“No sir, I am afraid my words may not be received very well by you at the current moment, I must delay it for now,”
“May I venture to ask why? Why will I not receive your words well?”
“Sir, I must and I will go now, I have been asked by some officials in the prison,” With those words she rose, diligent and nimbly, her eyes leered at the clock, she had tarried a bit there so she was to departure him though before she could Mr. Garret had interposed.
“Next time, be sure to write for me.”
“I will, sir, I am so sorry for my sudden leave but I will continue my part.’ She left after whispering those words while Mr. Garret rose and let his eyes tarry onto a clock which showed that he was due for a late apology once again, he walked out of the damned building and settled onto his chaise, he had asked the handler to hurry as Eleanor was waiting, the chaise stopped and he walked in awhile her attention was stolen by the works of maids, now that he had given her the gaze and realised that her dexterity had risen a lot, Mr. Garret walked behind her with no bustle movements and said,
“Are you ready?” Eleanor’s saunter had abandoned her.
“Oh my…. You startled me,”
Mr. Garret smiled at her impetuous act, she held no such things as self-control as her foible was to be feared with so much ease.
“Yes, laugh at my manner,” her movement suggested a picture of demure as she tended to stop the perfidious smile. Mr. Garret chuckled now but soon put a cease to it when her attention was shied away by the clothes that were dispersed onto the floor.
“Whimsical man you are,”
“Yes, it was funny in some manner though the purpose of my presence here was not to scare you but to ask if you are ready or not,”
“Ready for what? Sir?”
“Oh dear, do not tell me you have forgotten?”
Eleanor looked at him while her eyes were brimful with her irrevocable confusion.
“I am so sorry but I do not take much of a fancy in your words, sir,”
“Perhaps this is the day where we are to go outside for our dinner,”
She looked at him once again with bashfulness in her eyes and for her scrutiny, her wistful face turned sadder but before she ventured to say any more words a smile answered her.
“Let me have my apologies, sir, I do not tend to forget it but I was very much indulged in my troubles that I forgot our plans,”
“And what may have been troubling you?”
“It is a trifling matter that does not require your heeds,”
Mr. Garret paused and met his eyes with her, it did not show any sort of uncongenial emotion as if he had tumbled upon to speak with his eyes, and Eleanor seemed to certainly understand his unspoken words.
“Please do not worry about that, I am merely a stringent person and perhaps if you are happy to be on our way at the current moment then we can still go,”
Her saddened face enlightened with those words, she agreed to his request once again.
“Yes sir, I am very well happy with this, may I wear the dress that you have presented to me?”
“Oh sure, I would love that if you do not find any problem with it,”
She smiled and ran with a morsel of excitement to her room while Mr. Garret could only admire her, he sat down on the sofa and accustomed himself to a newspaper, the sun was scarcely left to show itself, he was to rise and look around the hallway after finishing the newspaper and being annoyed at the amount of time she had taken, he surveyed some ancient paintings of handsome women before he could go and give a knock to her door.
