“Murder can be employed as the work of a fool or sometimes it may be working as the foliage of different intention, something that is concealed upon the hearth in a far where no man reach upon, I suppose only the act of fools can be found out, I sometimes wonder Was I a fool? Or was I not a murderess? I will now write down the moment that ensued my sins.

I woke up as my mind had a deepening headache and as I could release my vexation I found Uncle rested well in a chair with a well-prepared breakfast. My anxiety had run up my veins, there was no doubt in his manner, perhaps he was obliged himself to be such a sweetheart yet it held such a pang for me, he offered me his chair before I could speak.

“You must rest now dear, I have made breakfast for you and me,"

For a whole moment, I did not say a word while he was detained to ready our meals and when he was finished, he preposterously walked with a smile that was meant to be taunting me.

“Here dear, I hope that you will enjoy your food,” he then seated well with his food and waited for me to proceed, I tumbled to eat my breakfast and while I was doing so his eyes were leering at me.

“With your permission dear, I may proceed with my breakfast as well,” I did not say a word and let him do at his will while I was to hold of myself with his perturbed self. I rose after finishing my breakfast though Uncle hastily held my arm and I looked at his eyes, It was enlightened with his depository of dominance onto me, it was, in one respect, unenviable enough.

“Evelyn, I must beg you to sit down and have a conversation with me right now,” he said, It is my fault, not yours, I was not myself back then and I understand I am in no position to be seeking your forgiveness of what my second self had done such barbaric act to you, it was not mellifluous or perhaps I have my penitence for what I did if you must then forgive me, dear.”

I knew about his generous concealed behavior as he had put a show before as well ensued my arrival in his place henceforth I did not fall to be amused, I was in doubt to perhaps discern my answer of discretion or instead my full kindness as a result, I was so silent as I could be.

“I know dear, Do not fret though, I will not touch you anymore until without your consent, we must rest what had happened and restart our life if you may, and perhaps you can be the lady of this house if you do not find any reasons to be not,”

As those words fell from his lips, I locked my eyes on him and his glib attitude had revealed the old rusty uncle once again but this time he was seated against me with a perilous smile of pride and his leering of equanimity that could mean nothing of sorts beside his ordeal intention to legally gnaw at myself for rest of our lives, though I may very well be in doubt if it is legal to marry your niece or say I am not very well accustomed to works of a solicitor or legal employers as I was a farm girl before I or my parents can reveal me to the study or knowledge of this kind and I still hold the urge to be a farm girl for once again, perhaps I suppose I have heard of instances where a man had shown a great purpose or obstinacy to marry his niece or say I have heard a lot of harm in these arrangements, any way sir, even if I had heard no harm of these preposterous settlements yet I could not marry this man as I will not be betrothed myself to be in a position of a wife. As I was disposed to do so yet his eyes and fingers that fastened round my hands and the look that he pondered onto me, made his vile expression implicitly upon or instead upon my decision.

“Dear, do you have such a reason to part from my request?”

No matter how much courage I was to pile, No matter the occasion I would very composedly accept my penitence while I knew if I was to receive a chance to change something I would not be brave enough to have my fingers on this moment as I still remember his eyes that were awash with the fear, fear for myself and anger as well.

I hastily shook my head and agreed upon his request to marry me.

“No, I suppose I do not have any reasons to falsify your request for my good,”

As my words were flown I seized the smile on his face and he soon released my hands from his grip, the wicked happiness meant the ascendency upon myself, no wonder the dates if he was to decide, if it was up to him he could marry tomorrow, though as you would have guessed sir, I abhorred the decision but I knew he is so better in this way then if he holds the knowledge of my condemn. I had the thoughts lingering in my mind until he announced his desire to marry me, say what would become of me and my brother if I tend to marry him? Perhaps my worries were to be such a profligate matter.

“Don’t you fret even a sweat, I will not proceed with the wedding without your consent and I am sure it will be there when you are ready but do not dare to part from our arrangement and it will be good for both of us,” As he part those words from his lips my life of forgery began, sir, I must inform you that I was not looking to asunder myself from this agreement once I was struck with the worrying thoughts of near future, where would I go if not here? And that is the sole reason for my stay or say my submissive self upon the request of my uncle.”

“Are you reading her letters?” Mr. Burton had interposed Mr. Garret while he was being sucked into her words.

“Oh yes, I was though if you have any matters to talk then I am to hold my perusal and have talk with you, dare you it must not be any trifle matters,” Mr. Garret sounded like derision and had the mockery of fun on his eyes.

“I assure you it is not trifle and it will be finished before we reach the place for your sojourn,”

“Well then speak now,”

“I may very well wish to clear your suspicion, Mr. Garret,”

“No need sir, I am afraid I was wrong,”

Mr. Burton paused and had his eyes surveying Mr. Garret for a moment before he spoke and as he did, it had a bit of hesitation poured onto his impenetrable tone.

“Shall I venture to ask in what regard your conversation was with Evelyn?”

“Do not, it will only feed up my suspicion and do no good for you,”

Nature was charming with such an imperishable view and with its tenderness, the sound of stirring leaves as it moved with the gentle breeze, Mr. Garret admired every view that was poured onto his eyes after the unexpected suspension from his perusal and before he could know the display of clock the chaise has reached the house, where no one but a maid has been holding her patience in a quiet pertinacious way. Mr. Garret took his departure from Burton’s services, he greeted Garret with his gentler words.

“American friend, say your regard to your work and I hope you will be successful when we meet again,”

Mr. Garret smiled and took his leave, he went inside the house where The Maid had welcomed him with her cheeks employed with a gorgeous smile

“Welcome back sir, I was worried that your employment had ended and we were to part ways from each other,”

“Not so soon, I suppose we are bound to spend some more time together,”

“Oh for sure I do hope so, I have a lot to talk to you as a friend and not as your poor maid,” Her voice sank into the piteous inflection when her tongue trotted the word “Maid.” and her eyes protuberance her piteous look to an extend that Mr. Garret felt no need to respond to that remark

“We will have our conversation but perhaps for now I am afraid I have something to hinder our friendly talk,”

When he spoke those words, The Maid had her sad inveterate look which weighed down on Mr. Garret, her eyes trembled with her agitation and it held the same effect as perils as a pestilence for Mr. Garret.

“May I have the authority to know what is that?”

“I need to go to certain places as the person for whom my client has employed me has requested to go afar and have myself work as her eyes,”

“Could it not wait? What about your promise?” asked Maid with her face that was mostly enlightened with a generous smile but now it was awash with the sullen of sorts.

“I am as sad as you are, but I give you my words, when I return I will not slacker and I will have myself parched to fulfill my promise to you,”

He exerted himself to smile and unencumbered his heart from needless apologies, The maid had been listening to his wise words before she interposed to say.

“I beg to differ, sir, I most certainly do, We are not going to have the time together, first you lured me with your extraordinary kindness and so illustrious and so sublime words and now you are making stolid walls between us, oh for god’s sake go, just go, I have my own experience with so non-fidelity men and perhaps if you wish to make me suspend myself from your house then I suppose I will,”

Those words hinted at her ordeal trauma as her eyes were covered with tears, She did not budge a word, she only walked away from him and settled herself in the breakfast room. Mr. Garret walked up to her intending to let her know the words of his heart. “Just go, spare me for god’s sake, spare me.”

“Very well then, I will be in my room, perhaps I will be waiting to talk with you before I leave.”

They parted from each other with those words falling from his lips, The sadness that prevailed on Mr. Garret was immeasurable, he had the knowledge of his feelings for her though he knew he had no control of the moment and his only option was to hide himself behind the words of Evelyn.
