“So this is the city of love, I wonder, does the goddess Alyja really come here?” Misen wondered aloud.
“It’s possible, it is said that the gods can change their outward forms. So they could very easily live among human society without ever being found out.” Voulin explains as the two look around and wander around the city of love. Despite being known as the city of love it has a decent ratio of couples and single people. “Misen, do you happen to fancy anyone?” He asks because he is curious.
“No, because why should I fall in love only to be heartbroken after I’ve outlived them.” She sadly responds.
“You know even if you live forever you shouldn’t deprive yourself of the joy that can come from being in love. Although, you might have some luck being with a god or a dragon. Both of which are said to have human forms and live for long periods of time if not forever.” Voulin remarks.
“Well how about you? Do you have anyone you fancy?” Misen asks, a little curious.
“Yeah, a powerful and smart woman by the name of Jessica. She is my childhood friend and both of us came from a poorer background, and both of us have risen high.” Voulin proudly says with a smile plastered on his face.
“Anyways enough about love, this place also is said to have the largest library in the world. As the Alyja apparently loved everything including knowledge. There are also legends of a hidden library that only opens to people that meet a requirement.” Voulin said changing the topic. The two walk around for a bit before spotting a great tree with a building built into it in the distance. “That’s the library. It was built into an ancient tree and only continues to expand as more knowledge is added to it. It is said the tree has a protective spell around it to prevent it from being destroyed by fools.”
“Even from a distance it’s quite the mighty looking tree. The world is a strange place.” Misen remarks as she peers at the mighty tree. Eventually they make it to the front entrance. Many people are moving in and out of the library’s massive doors.
I wonder if there is a way to remove this curse or ways to kill an immortal in there. Misen pondered as she and Voulin walked through the door. However, Misen was not at the entrance of the library; she was in a different room entirely. She was surrounded by books as far as the eyes could see. With one exception there was a lone woman who was sitting at a floating desk. The woman was beautiful as she was lost in her book. Her beauty was to an inhuman degree almost like it was natural to be attracted to her. The lone woman had long azure colored hair with distinct purple eyes. Her eyes were prettier than any diamond to grace the world. Her skin was as pale as porcelain. She wore a violet themed dress which complimented her eyes. Misen only could stare in awe at this otherworldly woman who was simply reading. Misen’s entire body was telling her that the woman who was before her was a higher being of existence.
The woman’s gaze was fixated on her book with great passion. Only once she had finished, had she offered her gaze towards Misen.
“How fascinating, you appear to be human, yet you do not seem like one. Who are you? No, what are you?” She inquisitively asked as she scanned Misen from head to toe. With great curiosity she wondered what the woman in front of her was.
After a brief pause to catch her breath Misen finally spoke. “I am Misen Miyano, I’m a human cursed with Immortality. After committing Suicide I was reawakened with newfound immortality.” Misen couldn’t help but feel she had to respect the woman in front of her.
“Misen Miyano, so that’s your name. You say you were cursed with immortality. Are you perhaps a vampire? Or maybe a dragr?” The librarian questions.
“I once believed I was a vampire due to my body craving blood, but I was immune to sunlight and my skin has retained its color. My body is alive so I don’t seem to be undead either.” Misen replies, her nerves subsiding a little. “While my body craved blood my regenerative abilities did not slow and only my humanity seemed to suffer.” Misen explained.
“How intriguing, I wonder if Veline had anything to do with it. Or perhaps she has only observed this one from afar. Although if this one continues to live, I have no doubt that Veline herself will meet with them. Humanity never ceases to fascinate me.” The librarian muttered. “Well it seems I’ve forgotten to introduce myself due to my curiosity. I am known as the goddess of love Alyja.” The woman finally stood up from her desk and introduced herself. As she approached Misen, Misen could get a better look at her and vice versa. Alyja stood proudly before Misen and was taller than Misen.
“Nice to meet you.” Misen calmly replied, attempting to maintain her composure.
“Are you surprised? Is the goddess of love not what you had in mind, or perhaps you didn’t believe us gods were real? Though unlike most people it seems you are still able to relax to some degree. Maybe you’ve already met a god before.” Alyja walked around Misen to take a look at her and the source of her curse, her sword. “What have you come to my library for? You must’ve been seeking some sort of answer. That is how you typically get to this library after all.” Alyja asked.
“I’ve come seeking for a way to free myself of the curse of immortality or figure out if I have a weakness that allows me to die.” Misen states, she has finally calmed down from the initial arrival.
Alyja touched the scabbard which caused it and the sword to become dust. Only for both the scabbard and the sword to reform in its original location.
“So even the source of the curse is immortal. The world has truly cooked up a fascinating new type of immortal. I wonder, will there be more like you in the future or will you stay the only one.” Alyja was quite amused at this new revelation. “I would love to keep you here, but it seems your friend is waiting for you. Just know from now on if you wish to meet with me. Just think of me as you walk through the entrance of the library. I will send you to where your friend is.” Alyja used magic to teleport Misen next to where Voulin is. “Now that she has met with a god I wonder if Veline will make a move or not” Alyja was full of interest towards Misen’s future.
“I had a strange day.” Misen tells Voulin. Her sudden appearance shocks him as he didn’t sense her approaching. “So even you can get surprised.” Misen lightly laughs at him.
“Where did you come from?” Voulin attempted to regain his composure. It had been a long time since someone snuck up on him.
“I met a god.” Misen casually said.
“Did you sneak off to drink?” Voulin laughed, he had regained his usual demeanor.

“I was teleported to the hidden library or rather Alyja’s library. I gotta admit she wasn’t what I expected. She was certainly beautiful, but her personality was more akin to a scholar.” Misen said with complete seriousness.
“Oh you weren’t kidding, well I guess that answers that legendary question of where Alyja is. Now that you’ve met a god I wonder if you will meet more.” Voulin raised his hand and rested his chin upon it. He pondered Misen’s future for a bit before shrugging it off. “While I’m not faithful I do trust your judgment. At the very least the goddess Alyja is real; whether the others are is a different question.” Voulin sighed. “While you were off meeting a god I happened to learn of a legendary beast that is said to have claws that can kill a god or even an immortal. It is the dragon goddess who was blessed by the god of power Sherasil. Given how you met Alyja I don’t think it would be impossible for you to meet the dragon goddess Krivena.” Voulin explained.
“Although I’m guessing that she isn’t easy to find. I had to be teleported to a library of unknown location to meet Alyja.” Misen sighed.
“You would be right, but hey it’s some hope for your aimless journey.” Voulin gave a small smile to Misen. The two left the library and went to where they were supposed to meet with Frey and Raffie. The two waited for some time and talked to pass the time. After a bit Frey and Raffie had finally arrived.
“Where did you two go while me and Raffie were on our date?” Frey asked.
“We went to the great library and Misen met Alyja and I went through some books.” Voulin purposefully said in the most nonchalant way.
“Wait. Did I hear that right? Misen you met the goddess of love Alyja???” Frey couldn’t hold back her shock. She unintentionally raised the volume of her voice.
“Quiet down, I was transported to the hidden library. While walking through the main entrance of the library. One moment I was walking to the main hall with Voulin and the next I was alone in a different area. Although I wasn’t really alone, floating at a desk reading a book was an otherworldly woman. She claimed to be Alyja, and I didn’t doubt her at all.” Misen explained what she had been through to Frey and Raffie.
“Do you feel like praying with me now? Also I have some more questions but they can wait.” Frey wagged her tail with excitement.
“No. I may have met the goddess but I don’t have any desire to worship them. She told me that I might start meeting more of the gods. Whether that will be a good thing or not is debatable.” Misen rubbed her head and sighed. “I’m gonna need a drink.” Misen muttered.
“You always need a drink, you alcoholic.” The three of them laughed.
“I guess the plan for now is to go eat and then I’ll take Misen somewhere for drinks while you two pray. You’re welcome to join us, if you find us after you finish. If not, let's meet up at that inn as that’s where we’ll spend the night. Feel free to purchase your rooms or room.” Voulin points at the inn in the distance. He also hands them some gold coins to cover the cost of their rooms just in case. “If that’s too much you can just pocket the remainder.” The four make their way to a restaurant. Where they ate some specialty food of the city. After they all finished eating their food. The party once again splits up into pairs.
Misen and Voulin head off to get some drinks. Misen is happily cheering as she hadn’t drank anything since they left Stellarina. While Frey and Raffie make their way to the goddess of love’s cathedral. The cathedral was quite grand and was designed to be beautiful to match the goddess’ beauty. In the middle is a large stained glass depicting the supposed look of goddess of love. Misen never told Frey what Alyja looked like other than that she had an otherworldly beauty. Frey had no clue of the accuracy of the depiction, she didn’t care as she was going to pray nonetheless. Raffie and Frey walked together and they began praying in the main area with an ancient statue of the goddess. The statue was preserved beautifully thanks to the efforts of the church of the goddess of love.
The two were on their knees while they dutifully prayed to the goddess of love.
I hope you continue to watch over Misen after we are gone. Frey thinks as the final part of her silent prayer. The two then silently walked out together, and shared a kiss before leaving the holy grounds.
“Where might Voulin and Misen be?” Raffie chuckled. “Either they found a good place to drink and stayed there, or they went bar hopping. Because of how big this city is I think it’s a lost cause attempting to find them.” Raffie explained, as he shook his head.
“You’re right we were in the cathedral for a while, let's just go to the inn.” Frey remarked. The couple went to the inn and bought a room together under Frey’s name.
A while later, Voulin is lifting Misen by her shoulder while she stumbles from all the alcohol she drank. She is so drunk that even the receptionist is surprised.
“I’d like to book two rooms, one for me and one for her.” He tells the receptionist.
“Right away sir.” The receptionist responds affirmatively.
“Also did a red wolf lady rent a room using either the name of Frey or Raffeel?” Voulin asked.
“Yes they bought a single room together earlier.” The receptionist answered his question which gave Voulin some relief.
“Thank you, I’m glad they aren’t still out looking for us.” He said. After receiving the keys to their rooms Voulin maneuvers Misen into her room and he leaves the key with a note on the table. Luckily the door automatically locks so he can just leave the key in there. Voulin makes his way to his room and lays in his bed. He had made sure to leave Misen’s stuff in her room and only take his things to his room.
“I fear for your future Misen. I didn’t even think you would drink that much. Granted I don’t have to worry about anyone killing you, but man you are quite reckless. I wonder what the next group of companions you will be with will think. Hopefully, the dragon goddess will be capable of killing you when the time comes. But your immortality is unlike anything I’ve ever heard or seen.” Voulin just lays in his bed a little drunk as he talks to himself. He then has the idea to contact Jessica’s private line using the telepathy they’ve set up using the organization’s magic technology. Whether or not she listens in is up to her, but she gets a little notice that he called her. However, he won’t know whether she joined the line or not.
“Hey Jessica I’m a little drunk, and I don’t know if you are listening to this or not. But I’m in the city of love right now in the middle of Alyja’s cradle with some friends. Two of which are a recent couple and they inspired me to say. I just want to say that I love you and I’ve loved you for many years. Do you want to go on a date tomorrow?” Voulin drunkenly babbled on the telepathy line.
“Voulin, I'm always listening when you call, and I’ve been waiting for you to ask me on a date. I’ll be there tomorrow waiting for you. No matter how drunk you are, you've always had a good memory so I know you’ll remember this. I love you as well Voulin, we’ve both dated many people over the years. But we both knew that we were the only ones for each other. Don’t worry I’ll be able to find you. Good night and sweet dreams.” Jessica suddenly spoke in a warm and endearing tone. She was happy and her face lit up the moment she heard the words she had been wanting to hear.
“What’s making you smile right now Jessica? Did Voulin finally tell you that he loves you?” Irarine attempts to tease Jessica. They were working on a mission and were in their meeting area.
“Yes, he finally did.” Jessica said with a smile.
“Wait for real.” Irarine’s jaw dropped and she was shocked. She had known Jessica and Voulin for many years and always liked to tease the two. Revera, Gillian, Tomo, and Naria were visibly shocked as well. Revera and Gillian instantly became awake. Tomo dropped the papers he was organizing. Naria spat out her drink.
“What!?!” The four of them simultaneously shouted aloud. They all finished what they were working on quicker than they’d ever done before. Once they were all free they began to ask for details. After some time Tomo stopped the questioning session to allow Jessica to get good sleep. While they were disappointed they understood the reasoning and wished Jessica good night.
Misen was passed out on her bed. Voulin had finally passed out after telling Jessica his feelings. Raffie and Frey were soundly asleep in their bed. Tonight had been an eventful day and night for the party.
