Chapter 11: A Foolish Tyrant’s Desire

Chapter 11: A Foolish Tyrant’s Desire

Misen awoke, she had passed out on the floor from all the drinking she did. She just chuckled realizing what she had done. She noticed that they gave her a pillow and blanket, which made her smile. After eating breakfast, she once again said her goodbyes. Despite knowing that she would visit them again. It was a hard goodbye for all three of them.

“How about see you later, instead of goodbye.” Raffie suggested.

“Yeah that’s way better. I’ll see you all later, so stay safe you two.” Misen said with a heartfelt smile. The three exchanged a hug once more.

“See you later, Misen.” Raffie said with a smile.

“See you later Misen. Don’t get trapped in the demon realm again or I won’t forgive you.” Frey said with a smile. They exchanged another hug before Misen set off and then left the sanctuary. She wandered the woods, making sure not to kill any of the monsters. However, she was a little lost. The trees all looked the same and it was trees in every direction. She walked through the forest aimlessly and she saw an unfamiliar building. The building was built into the cave.

“Despite leaving in the morning it’s almost dark and I’m still not out of this forest. Just how big is this forest anyway?” Misen muttered to herself. “What’s that place? Voulin never told me about that place in the forest. Well it’ll have to do for shelter.” She walked into the rundown looking building. It provided decent shelter with the outermost area but it seemed to go deeper. “I should investigate the inner areas so as to not get surprised if something comes out of there.” Misen ventured deeper into the strange building. The interior was a mix of cave rock and manmade infrastructure. The deeper Misen went the darker it became.

“I wonder if I can see better if I move more blood into my eyes.” Misen controlled her blood and flowed more into her eyes. Which made it easier to see in the dark, it wasn’t complete night vision but it’ll have to do. She made it to some stairs which led to a long underground hallway. The hallway was completely man made with not a bit of cave to be seen. The corridor eventually led Misen to a room with a large door. The door was grand inside and looked well preserved. Misen pulled at the rings which opened the door. Inside was a room with some stairs that led up to somewhere. There was also an empty open space in the middle.

The moment Misen stepped on the middle area the floor began to glow. “This is a magic circle. It seems I’ve fallen for a trap.” She said, as she vanished into thin air. The door that she had opened closed itself the moment she disappeared. Misen was sent somewhere far away.

Misen awoke to the sun greeting her. She was by a beach somewhere that she did not know. “Well this isn’t the forest. So I guess it must’ve been a teleportation magic circle. I wonder if I can use the teleportation key to Voulin’s place. In order to tell him about that place.” Misen attempted to activate the key to no avail. She tried a couple more times, but it didn’t seem to work. “Must be out of range. Only way that would happen is if I’m on a different continent entirely. I don’t know much about magic, but that’s absurd. I hope the people here are friendly to outsiders.” Misen sighed. “The view is a little nice.” She observed the beach view in front of her. She grabbed her sword and then went away from the beach. She traversed to a nearby grassy plains. She walked on and on hoping the locals were friendly. And had any alcohol she could drink.

Despite being in a completely unknown area she was not panicking in the slightest. “Another continent could have some interesting adventures. It’s not like I’ll die if it gets dangerous.” Misen walked through the plains and was suddenly shot by arrows on both sides. She collapsed to the ground and the perpetrators came up to her in order to loot her body.

“Let’s see what this strange woman has.” Said one of the perpetrators that shot Misen. He attempted to check what she had but before he could do anything. Misen got up and looked at him.

“Yo, are you a bandit or a civilian?” Misen casually asked him.

“I shot you, what do you think? I’m a bandit of course, now I don’t know how you're okay after being shot. But give me your valuables.” Said the perpetrator. He threatened her with a dagger pointed at her.

“Do you want to die? If not, lead me to the nearest town. Also I only need one of you, I don’t need your silent buddy.” Misen threatened the bandit who spoke to her. She then proceeded to bisect the bandit who hadn’t said anything. The bandit watched in horror as he saw his partner killed instantly and that the arrows were not only removed but the wounds were gone.

“Uh. Yeah I’ll lead you to the nearest town. Just please don’t kill me.” The bandit panicked. I was sure I got her with my arrows but she is perfectly fine. What is this woman, is she a monster disguised as a human. As long as she gets what she wants she’ll spare me right? The bandit led Misen to the nearest town and the moment the town was in sight he ran away.

“Well he did lead me to the town, so I won’t chase after him.” Misen comments as she heads into town. The town had no walls surrounding it or even a fence. There weren’t any guards checking identification. Misen freely entered the town in search of a map that would say where she was. She had completely forgotten about that bandit from earlier.

Little did Misen know that letting that bandit go would begin a rumor of a monster that pretends to be a human swordswoman, and can heal from any wound.

Misen had entered town and went to a building that had a sign that stated it was a guild building. Usually the guild building has a map you can buy or look at. The building looked similar in structure to the ones she was used to, but had heavier emphasis on wood and less extra details. It was a cheaper looking place than the ones she had known, though it wasn’t unexpected due to this town seeming less developed. She was in fact right and there was a map that was available for public use. It seemed Froyburgh was the town she was currently located in. There was a nearby kingdom called Slakkeales. While Misen was casually walking around the town she finally noticed the lack of people.

“Now that I think about it, I haven't seen anyone while I was in this town. Is this a ghost town? It doesn’t look very worn down or abandoned though.” Misen was just casually strolling through when she heard a cough from outside. She ran outside and was greeted by the sight of a child sitting covered in rags. The child’s eyes were bloodshot red and their skin was full of goosebumps. Misen realized that this child was incredibly sick. The silence was broken when the child started to violently cough blood. Which surprised Misen only for her to realize why the town was so quiet. It was because the people were suffering from an illness. Not too long after Misen made this realization.

The child collapsed and Misen went to check their pulse only for the pulse to be silent. The child had died right in front of her and she couldn’t do anything to stop it.

“I shouldn’t stay here long, it'll only depress me. May you rest in peace, citizens of Froyburgh.” Misen hurried out of the town through the other side of town. She kept running, leaving the dead town behind. Misen kept moving forward. A couple days passed and she realized that she was getting kinda close to a kingdom that seemed more lively and active. She noticed the castle in the far distance. She was suddenly stopped by guards asking for her business.

“What is your purpose for approaching the Slakkeales kingdom’s domain?” Asked a guard before noticing the holes in her clothing that look to be from arrow wounds.

“Wait you heard the rumor of the monster disguised as a swordswoman. The source of the rumor says he shot her with arrows and those look like holes from arrow shots.” Whispered one of the guards to the main guard. Upon hearing this they readied their weapons. Some used swords while others used spears.

“Die monster!” One of them screamed, while vertically swinging his sword down at her.

“You attacked with the intent to kill first. You can’t blame me for what happens next.” Misen dodged the sword slash and immediately countered by cutting the guy’s dominant arm off. She guessed which arm was the dominant one based on how he held his sword. The arm went clean off and the rest of the spear soldiers attempted to surround her then impale her. She dodged all but one of the spears. The spear went clean through and then she gripped onto the spear.

“I’ve got you now.” The soldier cockily said with his spear impaled into her. However, Misen began to pull herself down the spear and closer to the soldier. Once he was close enough she grabbed his head then broke his neck with her hands. This caused the rest of the soldiers to become afraid.

“M-Monster. That man had a family waiting at home for him. How can you kill so easily?” One of the soldiers states. His hands shaking from fear.

“Says the ones who went to kill me because of a rumor.” Misen retorts. She easily finished off the rest of the soldiers who were too afraid to fight well. “I could’ve easily just knocked them out. Why did I go so far to kill them? Is it because of this sword, is this the cost of losing myself to it?” Misen wondered as she stood in a circle of corpses. Though she had killed them she didn’t feel particularly bad about it, just a little confused. The real reason her blood lust had increased was due to her clinging onto her humanity far more. After surviving the collector ordeal and desperately wanting to see her friends again.

Stolen story; please report.

Misen continued towards a nearby town that was by the outskirts of the kingdom. She left the corpses of the soldiers behind after draining their blood. The battle was watched by a scout from a distance, including the aftermath.

“I must report this to his majesty, that woman is clearly the one from the rumors.” The scout fled from the scene and made their way into the castle. The king had two fancily armored knights on both sides of him. In the center above his throne was an even fancier sword for his personal use. The king’s throne room was filled with trophies and expensive decorations. The king had his glory days but he was growing old. He is no longer the warrior he once was. His hairs were grayed and his skin sagged.

“What is your report for me?” The king said with authority. Despite his old age he still had the presence of a warrior. The scout didn’t let his nerves show and began to speak.

“I saw the swordswoman from the rumors on the outskirts of our domain. She was impaled by one of our men’s spears, but after killing him and removing the spear from her body. The wound was gone and it had healed completely. I saw it with my own eyes, that woman is not human.” The scout reported to the king. Upon hearing this report the man’s eyes were filled with vigor and determination.

“We must capture that woman and figure out the secret to her immortality. My reign mustn’t end ever. You said you saw her, and since it’s daytime and she wasn’t burning that means she isn’t a vampire.” The king commanded. Once the scout left and it was just the two decorated knights, the king and his second in command. The king said. “I don’t care if I have to sacrifice all one million of my citizens. I can simply start anew once I become immortal.” The king uttered. “Once we capture her, I’ll have you learn the secret to her immortality. Please don’t have too much fun until you learn the secret.” The king spoke to his second in command.

“Understood sir.” The man replied. He left and went to prepare his chamber for a visitor. The king’s laughter echoed throughout his throne room.

Misen was casually strolling through town unaware of what was being planned behind the scenes. She enjoyed the food of the town she was in, she could see the castle from a distance while she was in the town. She got a bad feeling about that place, so she didn’t really want to go there. She was able to get some money by selling some monster parts. It was a different currency as all of the different coins were gold, they just had numbers embedded on them.

Once night fell, Misen went to purchase a room at the local inn. She noticed that many eyes were watching her. She went out of town to confront the eyes that were on her. The eyes revealed themselves as more soldiers, but this time there was a man among them with a strong presence. His armor was of higher quality metal. He ordered the soldiers to capture Misen.

The soldiers attempted to perform a pincer maneuver with their spears. Misen however, cut their spears apart. After she did this the man with a strong presence ordered his men to stand back. He drew his long sword, it was a brilliant black sword. He then held it by his right hip. The moment Misen got close he did a diagonal upward slash. Misen dodged but he followed it up with a diagonal slash downward. The follow up attack sliced Misen's face. However, it regenerated without any issue. He began a wide swing from far back, and Misen attempted to slash him for leaving himself open. However, he stopped his attempt and kicked Misen in the gut instead.

“Damn this guy is strong.” Misen cursed. She channeled her blood to her limbs to make herself stronger and faster. She sped towards the man and went to slash him but he dodged her quick swipe. He then readied a downward slash and she went into a stance to parry it by angling her sword. However, with his sword still raised, he swept her feet with a kick. Once she lost her balance and fell. He cleaved her down the middle.

“Now!” The man commands his soldiers. They were already ready to handcuff Misen and also put her into a metal net. Once Misen regenerated she was ensnared in their net. She attempted to move and they quickly knocked her out. With Misen now in their possession they hurried to the second in command’s torture chamber. While she was unconscious she was chained down to a table. The table was enchanted by a magic that makes it far more durable and resistant to melting.

Misen awoke to the voice of an unfamiliar man. However, she was mortified by the familiarity of the situation. She had just escaped the horrific demon collector’s clutches. Only for her to be at the mercy of another sicko. She immediately tried to enhance her arm to free herself. However, the restraint didn’t budge.

“Just like the table, the restraints were enchanted by powerful magic. Even a super human could not break those restraints.” The man let out an evil laugh. Despite the warning Misen refused to stop attempting to break free. Her attempts were stopped when he injected her with a serum that made her body feel like jelly. Her body didn’t move the way she wanted it to. Her vision blurred from the serum.

The man then sliced open Misen with a dagger. However, the opening was almost immediately healed. “Fascinating, you really are immortal.” The man looked at Misen with intrigue. He then brought out a cart of poisons to test on Misen. “Ehem, it seems I got caught up in the excitement of having a new toy to play with. I forgot to ask the secret of your immortality?”

“You fucking bastard, it was never a secret in the first place its because of a curse. There is no secret to my immortality.”

“How unfortunate, I thought my liege would be able to become an immortal ruler. I shall report this to him at once. Well I can’t just leave you alone, so I’ll be using this.” He smiled, as he brought out a mechanism that dripped poison into Misen’s mouth. Her neck was restrained so she couldn’t move out of the way. He also used a device to keep her mouth open so the poison would enter her mouth. After he was fully set up he left.

Misen was currently miserable as her body felt like it was on fire. The very blood that she had inside her body was spreading the poison throughout. Her nose began to bleed and her body ached. “I have to escape somehow. I don’t want to find out what the rest of those bottles contain. Misen attempted to break free but the magically enhanced restraints wouldn’t budge.

When she got the idea to overload her fist with blood. He came back and before she could do anything he made her drink a new poison. Though this poison could hardly be considered a poison it was pretty much acid. It burned through her skin and bones and melted her insides. He made her drink poison after poison, her body was losing more blood. However, he stopped to observe the effects. Misen stared at the old bones resting next to the wall. You guys are lucky you get the sweet release of death.

“You wish you could join us, how sad.” “How sad indeed hahaha.” The corpses mocked her as she faded in and out of consciousness. The pain was causing her to have hallucinations. The poison was circulating throughout her body and forcing her through excruciating pain. She wanted to yell at them to shut up. However, her throat was liquified in a constant cycle of regeneration and pain. By the device that dripped poison down her throat. How long must I endure? I don't have an easy escape. This poison will never kill me, only torment me. She thought to herself.

The bastard brought out a vial of poison that was decorated rather fancily. He stared at it before smiling. Then he forced it down Misen’s throat. “That one is extra special, it’s said to be able to completely destroy a dragon’s body. Misen’s head felt hot, as her body was in immense pain. Her insides were liquified over and over, the liquid inside burned. Her body began vomiting the blood and she began convulsing. The blood she had saved up was being forcefully removed from her body. The mad man then poked several holes into her skin. Which the liquid of blood and melted innards was expelled from. The sensation of multiple holes shooting out blood was unimaginably painful and excruciating. Misen’s thoughts were only filled with pain; she couldn’t think of anything except the pain.

Her thoughts suddenly went silent as she heard a voice speaking to her heart. “Let go, embrace our hatred. Reject your humanity and let go. If you do that you will be free.” The voice echoed in her head.

I accept. She mentally answered the voice. The pain stopped and numbed. The poison was ejected out of her body and it fully regenerated. Her black hair gained red highlights. Every bone in her body broke itself and her broken body slipped out of the restraints. This terrified the man who was previously enjoying her suffering. He attempted to poison her body once again. However, all metal in the area began flowing into her hand and it formed a sword which she used to stab and drain him of all his blood. Misen’s bones repaired themselves but they were even stronger than before. Her face melted and was replaced with a newly formed one with red markings on her face.

Misen opened her eyes, but rather than her normal silver eyes. They were replaced with red eyes that cried tears of blood without end. Despite Misen’s body moving, Misen herself wasn’t conscious at all. Her body then let out a vicious monstrous roar. Misen’s skin burned and red marks appeared all over her body. With a prominent depiction on her back. It was an eye surrounded by red amaranth flowers. Once the transformation was complete Misen’s body escaped the chamber she was in. The ruckus made some guards assemble to check it out. They were greeted by a transformed madwoman who giggled and laughed, as her eyes cried tears of blood.

Misen’s body leapt towards the guards and she decapitated all of them. She then skewarded them and their bodies began to melt onto her sword and it formed a scabbard for her sword. Misen’s body’s laughter echoed through the halls of the castle. Misen’s body killed the rest of the prisoners, as well. Any sign of life that she saw she killed and drained the blood from. Once all of the living beings of the lower floors of the castle were killed. Misen moved up and towards the throne room. She easily destroyed the throne room where four people were waiting. The king, his two elite soldiers, and finally the man who captured Misen earlier.

“You bitch, how dare you enter the king’s throne room without permission. Take her down, my elites!” The king commanded.

The two heavily armored soldiers attempted to cut Misen down, but she went through past them at blinding speed. They were cut apart in an instant, their flesh and their armor was all torn asunder. Their blood was also drained. The man with the black blade readied his sword stance. Though he was a little nervous as Misen now, was way stronger than before.

“For my king I will do anything. Even if you are now a monster, I do not care, for I have slain many beasts with this blade.” The man attempted to motivate himself. He was ready for Misen’s monstrous speed and strength. His black long sword, pointed toward Misen.

Misen simply eyed the man, before seemingly getting ready to strike. Her red eyes were still crying tears of blood. Her once pure black hair was now filled with red highlights. She had become the monster that the blade was attempting to create.
