Unbeknownst to Misen her soul had become even more entwined with the cursed soul of the blade. While this did make her more powerful, it also messed with her sanity more. It tore her further away from her humanity, which she wanted to preserve. “I need a drink. The treasury probably has some money I can take.” Misen went to the castle rubble and searched through.
Until she noticed the shine of a gold coin. She had found the treasury, she stuffed a bag full of coins. She then left the ruins of the fallen kingdom. She went on in search of some booze. While the memory of the torture wasn’t clear in her head, she wished to drink away the event anyways. That’s the reason she used to justify drinking, although it was only partially accurate as she just wanted a drink.
Atop of a cliff a silver haired woman lay with a sword pierced through her heart. Oddly, she was not bleeding from the wound. Her eyes were closed; she had died from that wound to the heart. However, she had been reborn as something that couldn’t be classified as a normal human anymore. She awoke and her eyes weren’t any different from what it was before. She appeared perfectly human, she drew the sword out of chest. Her wound disappeared once the sword was removed. “I feel absolutely wonderful. It looks like trusting that strangely powerful person was the best course of action. Now I’m closer to Misen. I’ll have to set things up first, I must be powerful in order to lure her in.” The woman smiled as she walked away from the scene to begin her plan to make Misen hers.
Misen walked along the road away from the fallen kingdom to the nearest town or city. Hopefully one with some good alcohol she could use her newly acquired funds on. “This sword has brought me nothing but pain. Though I wonder if I would’ve met everyone if I hadn’t become an aimless wandering immortal. How much would change if I got to have a normal childhood? Being alone really makes one think.” Misen was just walking along the road thinking. “I need booze.” She sighed. The common monsters aren’t really a threat to her as she instantly slaughters them. She also noticed that she didn’t feel exhausted at all while she was walking. She continued to trek along the path without feeling too much exhaustion neither physical nor mental. “It’s odd.” She noted her lack of exhaustion despite walking for over a day straight. “I wonder if this is caused by my desire for booze or if it’s something else.”
The sun rose and Misen was still walking without a hint of exhaustion. “I really don’t understand how my body works anymore. Can I even be considered alive anymore? Am I just an animated corpse that has a mind of its own? What am I?” Misen was contemplating her existence as the sun shines upon her. “I should go pay Alyja a visit for some answers. It’s not like I have a current direction at the moment.” She sighed. She was hoping the path would lead her to another town, but it had already been a day of walking, and she still wasn’t seeing any other locations. She could always just enhance her body and just bolt in the direction of the path, but she didn’t feel like it. She wasn’t really in a rush, and she didn’t know if by recklessly running it would have consequences. It was a little nice and peaceful and gave her a moment to think.
Misen stopped to take a break, not because she needed one, but because she just wanted to stop and relax. She had stopped in an area with trees surrounding her. She used a log as a seat while she observed the birds, squirrels, and other creatures living out their lives. She was granted a moment of peace. She grabbed her sword while it was still sheathed and just looked at it. The scabbard was primarily a black color with a silver flower on the design. It was a simple design but it served as a reminder of the past. She closed her eyes to enjoy the sound of the wind.
While she was focused on the nature around her, she noticed something that resonated from the sword. She could feel something from the sword. She kept her eyes closed as she focused on the thing resonating from the sword. She felt a sudden sense of unease, but at the same time comfort. Whatever it was, it was another something she didn’t understand. The mysteries only kept piling on. “At least I’ll have another thing to ask Alyja about.” She sighed. She went back to just enjoying nature. It was nice to just observe and relax after what she had been through. She hadn’t really had a moment alone to just relax.
“I went through two horrific experiences nearly back to back. But why aren’t I feeling much looking back on it. The moment was excruciating, but now it’s odd. I feel like it should’ve had a longer lasting impact. Am I losing my humanity or am I just not caring. I should find someone to hone my skills with this katana. I really don’t want to get tortured or experimented on.” Misen had many questions but not a lot of answers.
Before she knew it the sun had set once again. She went over to a tree and just leaned her back against it with her sword placed on the ground by her left side. She wasn’t tired but she drifted off anyway. She had fallen asleep while leaning on the tree. She had a peaceful expression on her face.

While Misen was at peace with nature. A certain silver haired woman was busy attempting to take over an organization. It was a well known organization of assassins. She had made it to their headquarters using some information she got from a demon acquaintance of hers. She was at the entrance as she had made it past the security by blending in with a group of assassins heading inside. She greeted them with a smile as she went inside with them. They had no idea she was a complete outsider because of how friendly she seemed to them. Perfect, I’ve made it inside. It seems that all that’s left is to find the boss. I wonder if I’ll have to convince him at all. She thought a devious smile unintentionally revealed itself. Upon noticing her smile she quickly changed it back to the friendly coworker one.
She took a glance at the map of the building and as expected the boss’ office was at the top floor. She made her way up the stairs while greeting everyone she passed by with a friendly wave and smile. After walking up six flights of stairs she finally made it to the office of the leader. The door was big and made of wood with gold handles. “Excuse me.” She said after knocking on the door and opening it.
The boss was an old guy with visible gray hairs. He had scars all over his arms and a few on his face. His office had a sizable red rug leading to his desk. He had many swords on his wall displayed. He looked at the woman who had just entered his office confused. She locked the door and he tightened his grip on his cane. “I don’t believe I had any appointments today, can I help you Miss?” He asked while observing the woman who entered his office.
“It’s a simple matter really, I wish for you and all of your assassins to work under me.” She calmly said with a smile. She didn’t show a hint of bloodlust or hostility.
“Is that a joke? Because it wasn’t very funny. Get out of my office. I don't want to stain my carpet.” He sighed. He was confident in his skills, he had heard of all the skilled assassins in his organization and her description didn’t ring any bells.
“It wasn’t a joke nor a suggestion. It was an order. It would’ve been disappointing if you had followed it though. It’ll be more fun this way.” She smiled as she slowly drew her sword. In an instant, she was in front of him on his desk with her sword drawn. She went to slice his head off but he repelled her attempt with his cane. Then he instantly went to her neck off with a hidden blade within his cane. However, she casually moved her neck out of range ever so slightly. He activated a magic trigger that launched a highly powerful condensed ball of electricity through the woman’s back. It went right through her heart. She collapsed and he sighed but then quickly noticed her wound had healed and he backed away.
“You’re quite sharp, though I expected as much from the boss of such an esteemed assassin organization.” She smiled as she slowly walked towards him with her wound completely healed. “I wonder what would be better, do you think your assassins would follow me if I killed you? Or would it be better to get you on my side and run your organization from the shadows.” She pondered her options.
“What in the world are you? Are you a demon?” He was concerned, but trying to keep his composure. He kept his eyes focused on her trying to find a weakness.
“A demon you say? Hey, can I borrow this?” She pointed at a sword that had a holy aura to it. It was being displayed. She didn’t wait for an answer before grabbing it. She stabbed through her own heart with the sword. However, the wound began to heal itself and the sword fell onto the floor. Her wound was completely gone as she smiled at the man. His composure was completely broken. He didn’t know what to do? This woman just demonstrated that she wasn’t a demon. He had no idea how to kill her or if it was even possible.
“You want to run my organization right? It’s better to not have you as an enemy.” He accepted her proposal out of fear. He was on the ground, afraid.
“That’s great, I knew you would come around. But I have to make sure you stay loyal. Don’t worry, I brought many healing potions. Of the highest quality as well.” She smiled as she brought out a lot of potions. She then broke his legs using the sheath of her sword. He groaned but didn’t scream, which made her smile. She smashed his foot with the bottom of her sheath and shattered his foot. It made a crunch sound, his breathing started to become more sporadic. She then grabbed his hand as he tried to hit her. She twisted it until it broke. Then she broke his other hand.
She looked at him in pain and only smiled as she grabbed his left hand and began snapping each finger one by one. Before she finished breaking them all he screamed. She then forced a healing potion down his throat and began the process again. She got to both legs broken, both arms broken, both feet broken, and around eight fingers broken before he screamed again. She then healed him again and began the process again. However, on the third go around he held in his scream the entire time. Every bone in his limb was broken and he thought he was done.
“I must praise you, no one has gotten through without screaming yet. However, do you think you’ll be let go? This won’t end until all of my potions are used up.” She began to laugh as she healed him again and began the process again.
When Misen awoke the sun had already risen. She stood up and stretched her arms, legs, and back. She then grabbed her sword and began moving along the path once more. It was a sunny day and overall just nice weather. She continued her stroll down the path, curious to where it would lead her.
