Misen had gone back to the port of Umitana after spending the night in Voulin’s living room. She left the big bottle of tequila at Voulin’s place as a gift for him. She reappeared back in the alleyway she had teleported from. Blue sky, shining sun, and a gentle ocean breeze were what awaited her. Misen walked around town. Her white kimono with a green obi made her stick out, as everyone else wore more casual clothes. Many people were curious as to why she wore that outfit and what the sword was for. Misen continued to walk around when a man walked up to her from behind. His footsteps were quiet, but not enough to be completely unnoticed. “May I help you?” Inquired Misen. Misen turned around to greet the person who approached her from behind. Behind her was a pair of siblings, one was a man and the other was a woman. They appeared around the same age as one another. They both had similar brown-colored hair and the same blue-colored eyes. The siblings had their swords strapped to their left hip. They had similar flower patterns on their scabbard to Misen’s scabbard.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. It’s just that your sword looks rather familiar. Might I ask where you got it?” The man inquired. They both looked at Misen and she just looked at the two of them for a bit. She had this feeling that she couldn’t understand or shake off. Her sword seemed to recognize something about the two. The silence was broken by the sister when she spoke up.
“You alright, Miss?” The woman asked. The woman got up close to Misen’s face to get the zoned-out Misen’s attention. Her bright blue eyes glowed in the sun as she looked at Misen. Misen snapped out of her trance and apologized.
“Sorry, I got this sword after killing the original owner in revenge,” Misen said after clearing some of the fog in her head. Misen was mystified by the pair as everyone who would know this sword from the original owner was dead. There weren’t any other survivors as far as she was aware. She had raised her guard ever so slightly, in case there was a fight brewing.
“Oh, so you killed our grandfather. I was wondering what happened to him, as according to our Mom he kinda just never came back thirty years ago. Such is the life of a killer. Now that I’m getting a better look at your sword it's definitely the same one despite its different size.” The woman didn’t seem to care about her grandfather; she was just kinda curious. The woman’s reaction to meeting someone who killed her grandfather slightly unnerved Misen.
“Didn’t our grandfather die around thirty years ago? This woman doesn’t look over thirty and no way he would’ve died to some child.” The man questioned, as it didn’t logically make sense. His face showed visible confusion. However he didn’t seem mad about his grandfather’s death either.
“I didn’t know that evil bastard had offspring. Well, the reason I look like this is complicated, but I did kill your grandfather. Though neither of you really seem that adverse to chatting with the murderer of your grandfather.” Misen comments, scratching her head. “I would’ve thought you would try and take revenge or at least not be so friendly with me.”
“Well whether you killed him or not doesn’t really matter. You have the blade that he once wielded. We weren’t going to dedicate our lives to trying to get revenge for a family member we never knew. We are simply just living our lives. It was nice to learn what might’ve happened to him though, as before we just kinda thought he disappeared.” The man shrugged his shoulders and nonchalantly spoke.
“By the way my name is Mirumu and his name is Minato.” Mirumu cut in. The three of them continued to chat and got along well. “If we ever see each other again, let’s get some drinks.” He said after he and his sisters left Misen.
“I never thought I would meet the grandchildren of my worst enemy. It’s even crazier because we actually got along. Life truly is full of mysterious twists and turns.” Misen muttered and chuckled to herself. She continued to walk around the town and searched for something to do.
Somewhere in a secluded part of Kajne, an older woman sat alone at home. The black-haired woman had blue eyes and looked great for her age. On her wall, she had pictures of her two children play-fighting each other with swords. She was walking around her house and she had a necklace on with a picture inside. She stared at the small picture depicting a man whose hair was brown. “Our children have grown into fine adults, I wish you were still around to see them. Despite the sins of my father, I’m glad those children are living happy lives.” The woman warmly smiled while holding the picture.
The woman’s tender moment was broken when suddenly she heard quiet footsteps enter her home uninvited. She was immediately alerted upon their entrance. “Twenty, no thirty? Who could it be?” The woman rushed towards a space with limited entrances and exits. The footsteps became closer and the woman came face to face with her assailants. They were all masked and wielded all sorts of weapons. They all attempted to rush at her, but they were forced to be single file as there was only one entrance to the room she was in. The first one came and rushed her with a knife. She dodged a swipe before hitting their wrist and stealing their knife then stabbing their heart. She then plucked the knife out of their chest and threw it at one of the assassins who was getting ready to fire a crossbow at her. The crossbow bolt hit another assassin in the back and the woman continued to pick off her assassins one by one. However, one man started to use the bodies of the fallen as projectiles. The path was now cleared out and the assassins had entered one by one, but they had waited to group up before attacking her. “Well, I guess you lot do learn. Might I ask why you are attacking this lone old woman in her home?”
“We received a job from the boss, and after learning of the contents of the job many were eager to get a chance at the life revoker’s family. Your father made many enemies from relatives of those slaughtered.” One of the assassins said. They all began to attack her and she fended them off well. Until one of them grabbed a hold of her and another assassin launched high-speed ice magic and pierced through the chest of both of them. The assassin went down and the woman vomited blood after having her insides messed up from the attack.
“She should be as good as dead now, but we’ve got to make sure she is dead. Then we’ll kill the last two members of his family.” One of the assassins said as he attempted to stab her again. However, upon learning of her children being in danger she forced her body to stand up and fight. She was enraged and began to tear apart all of the assassins close to her. Many began firing at her with projectiles and she dodged most of them. However, she was still getting hit and losing more and more blood. She had become a living pincushion, but that didn’t stop her and she was eventually decapitated by one of the assassins with a katana. Her head dropped to the floor and all she could was wait to die. Her body had stopped moving and it wouldn’t listen to her commands.
Stolen story; please report.
I must fight! I can’t let the sins of my father endanger my children’s future. Fight, damn it! She thought until everything became empty and she had left the land of the living. The assassins set fire to the house and escaped the scene. Many of them were laughing and cheerfully chatting with each other. Many had lost family members who didn’t live with them to the life revoker. Some had dreamed of the day of killing the life revoker himself, but killing his family would have to suffice. They all left and rushed towards their next targets. A pair of siblings traveling together who were in the town of Umitana.
Misen was just peacefully drinking the night away when she noticed some suspicious people sneaking around the rooftops. She peered over and looked at the suspicious figures sneaking around. She sighed and remembered the time that Frey got kidnapped on a night like this. She paid for her drinks and left the venue. She jumped onto the rooftops and followed behind the assassins. She eventually heard what sounded like swords clashing and saw over fifty assassins going after one woman. From what Misen could see the woman was all bloodied and there was also an oddly familiar corpse on the ground. Misen realized the one on the ground was the grandson of her enemy. He had been killed and turned into Swiss cheese by their assailants. The woman was wielding both of their katanas and barely holding on. She was being attacked from every angle, but couldn’t block everything. She was standing with many arrows and icicles pierced throughout her body. She wasn’t going to last much longer if this kept up. Every move she made opened her wounds more and more.
Misen enhanced her body with her blood and began the hunt. She cut off the limbs and cut apart all the ones she was able to get close to. Her actions had alerted the assassins, but the ones on the ground continued to fight against Mirumu. Most began to fire at her, but many continued to fire upon their initial target. Misen became more desperate and killed the assassins faster and faster. Mirumu also continued to struggle against her impending death. However, by the time that they had gotten rid of all of the attacking assailants it was far too late. A few realized that it was over and fled before they could be killed by Misen. Mirumu had already lost too much blood and she fell onto her back. Her body could no longer move and she just lay there in her own pool of blood.
Misen made it to her and couldn’t help but be saddened. “I was too late, I should’ve gotten here sooner. Maybe you both would still be alive.” Misen softly spoke, her voice was breaking up a little. The woman forced a laugh out.
“Are you really getting sad over the death of your mortal enemy’s grandchildren?” She laughed. “All those people were like you, they were enemies of our grandfather. I noticed that your wounds healed after being struck. I suppose that was your special circumstance. It’s a shame we won’t get to share that drink.” She forced a laugh out once more. “I’ll see you soon Minato,” Mirumu said as she breathed her dying breath. She had gone out with a warm and her eyes just lifelessly stared into the sky. Minato’s corpse’s face was full of pain and anguish at leaving his sister behind. The two’s corpses just laid there and Misen looked at the two and couldn’t help but shed a few tears. She took their swords and sheathed both blades back into their scabbards. She closed both of their body’s eyelids with her hand.
She Carried their corpses and buried them both by a cherry tree. She placed their swords as the headstones of their graves. Misen grabbed three cups and placed one in front of each of their swords. Misen then poured some alcoholic sake into each of the cups. She then raised a toast to them and then drank her cup and left it at their grave along with the bottle. Misen walked away from their graves and went to an inn and bought a room then went to sleep.
The assassins who had survived the ordeal had returned to a base. They reported the success of the missions to their bosses. Who then reported it to the top level the leader of the assassin organization. Upon receiving the news, almost on cue, a certain silver-haired and light gray-eyed woman appeared in his office. “How wonderful, now the mortal enemy of my beloved Misen is gone from this world. Not a single trace of that man remains. I wish I could tell her, but alas I don’t believe I’ll get the chance anytime soon. Maybe she would’ve preferred to tear through them herself. Oh well, the job is done and that is what matters.” Rieda happily said. She paced around the office room while gleefully saying her thoughts aloud. Rieda pondered on what her next move was going to be. She shrugged and left the office. Perhaps it is time to check on my play center. Rieda happily walked with a smile as she left the assassin headquarters. Rieda on her way to her “play center” stumbled upon a lively village of locals just peacefully living their lives.
She decided that she could wait to check on it and decided to get more fuel. Fuel for her that is. She arrived in the village and began to cut apart everyone that came remotely close to her. She manically laughed as she cut through every single person in the village. It didn’t matter who it was or how old they were. Rieda killed every last one of them. By the time she was dead with her slaughter fest and collected all their souls. Bandits had arrived to pillage the village but were unfortunately now on Rieda’s meal plan. She lunged at them with a big sadistic smile. She killed all the furthest ones first. Rieda then cleaved two of them in half. Once there were only two left, she paused her murder spree. They both looked at her with fear, they had stumbled upon a monster. “I’ll let one of you live. On the simple condition that you fight each other without weapons. Whoever dies is the loser.” Rieda said with a sadistic smile.
The two bandits dropped their weapons and began to punch each other. They both desperately swung at each other. “It’s nothing personal, but I don’t want to die.” One of them said to the other. The two had been best friends for years. They had started as adventurers together but weren’t strong enough to continue fighting monsters to make enough money to survive. They had been picked up by the boss of the bandits and he offered for them to join his group. The skin on their knuckles has begun to open up. All the bare-knuckle brawling was doing a number on their bodies. One punched the other in the gut and received a punch to the liver in response. They punched and punched and punched. Desperate to survive, finally one got the other on the ground and pinned him down with his body. He then proceeded to punch the other guy’s face repeatedly. His knuckles were bloodied and blood was flying from both of them each time he made contact. Eventually, his friend stopped resisting and stopped moving altogether. Their bodies had both been ruined by the fight. Their bodies were covered in bruises and they were bleeding. Tears rushed down his face after seeing his friend’s lifeless eyes and realizing what he had done. His moment was broken by Rieda’s laughter. “That was great, but unfortunately for you, I think my blade needs more souls.” She said as she decapitated the bandit. “They provided great entertainment, but I’ve done all I can here. Now I shall actually be going to my play center.” Rieda left the scene of mass destruction. Lifeless corpses littered all around the village. The once lively village had become silent.
