Misen was being levitated downwards while skewered by black spikes all over her body. On her way down, Misen had repeatedly passed out and reawakened from the excruciating pain caused by the spikes piercing her body. The spikes constantly moved ever so slightly in order to reopen the wounds to prevent Misen from fully regenerating. No matter what happens, her body would eventually regenerate and be fine, the same cannot be said about her mind. The spikes sliced open the wound over and over. Misen lost more and more blood as she descended deeper into the demon realm. Her blood dripped from her body onto the spikes before going into the air. Her mind eventually subconsciously suppressed the pain and she was able to pass out.
When she awoke the spikes were still pierced into her body, but they didn’t hurt. The spikes that were piercing through her from below had become merged with the floor. They held her up like a twisted exhibit. The spikes had stopped moving, so in due time Misen regenerated enough to regain control of her limbs. She was in a room lit up by a torch. It had a glass wall at the front and opaque stone walls on the rest. She pressed her feet onto the side of one of the spikes and pulled up with her hands. Through pure force of will, Misen began to get herself up to free herself from the spikes impaling her from below. The pain had come back after her body had become numb to it. She used the spikes below as leverage to get herself up. Once she got herself free, she fell face first onto the floor. She then painfully pulled the other remaining spikes out of her body. Every spike removed caused blood to rush out. After she was free of all the spikes she lay on the ground heavily breathing, as her body regenerated every bit of flesh that was destroyed. She couldn’t think clearly, as she lost a lot of her blood reserve.
“I need to get back to them as soon as possible.” Misen weakly muttered. Her head was spinning, and she wandered around the room. “Where am I?” She asked as she reached for her sword. Initially there was nothing there. Only for her blood to manifest a sword in her left hand. She then tried to manifest more swords and it worked; she learned she was able to make copies from her blood. At the cost of her humanity. Although the copies didn’t stay forever and eventually dissolved into pools of blood. She tried to hack the glass with her sword to no avail. While she was attacking it, she heard a door open and footsteps approach.
“Someone sure is lively after waking. I see that you’ve freed yourself from my subordinate’s spikes. You were quite beautiful while you were pierced. A living art piece, the ever regenerating skewered immortal woman. That look of pure malice towards me is quite wonderful as well.” A feminine voice said. The voice belonged to a tall woman with demonic horns and a tail. She got up close to the glass to get a better look at Misen and Misen was able to do the same.
The demoness had straight long dark purple hair and distinct red eyes. Her pupils were oval shaped which was a common trait demons shared. Her horns were blood red and her tail was a dark purple. She looked at Misen with great pleasure and curiosity.
“Who are you and what do you want from me?” Misen spoke with full hostility. Attempting to get answers from the woman who had her locked up.
“Me? I’m the collector, as well as a baroness of the demon realm. I couldn’t take it, after observing you during your journey. I realized that I couldn’t wait any longer to have you as a part of my collection. Especially, after your beautiful berserker rampage in Dione. The way you cut through those monsters one after another. You kept killing and killing, not caring about your wounds oh so marvelously. You might be wondering why your area seems so quiet if I’m a collector. That’s because I gave you your own special room that is completely soundproof. As the one true immortal you deserved that much at least. Even if reality collapsed and nothing, not even the gods remained. You would still remain after everything else is gone.” The collector rambled on and on with a disturbing fascination. She was constantly keeping her eyes on Misen.
“Do you think this cell will hold me forever? I’ll escape before too much time passes. I’ve got some people waiting for me in the human realm.” Misen glared with a look of defiance.
“Of course I don’t plan to keep you here forever. The world won’t last forever. Eventually, I may cease to be then my daughter will have you. Then perhaps her child will have you. Once my family dies out then you’ll be free of course. I wish you luck on your escape, the glass is the most durable glass in the demon realm. It was specially requested for your containment.” The woman smiled at Misen. “I would hurry with your escape if you want to meet your friends still alive, as by the time you escape you might meet their distant descendants. After silently observing Misen for a while, she left the room. Walking towards a door on Misen’s right that was obscured by the wall.
Misen could only see a wall on the other side of the glass and a stool. Misen then grabbed one of the spikes and with as much strength as she could muster she flung it into the glass. Her body concentrated additional blood flow to her limbs. However, instead of piercing the glass, the spike shattered. Misen arms were wrecked during the aftermath, though they quickly healed. Misen realized at that moment she could control the blood in her body.
She experimented with this new found ability. She flowed more blood then hardened the additional blood. She attempted to punch the glass, and realized she was punching harder and her hand was more durable. Misen turned her attention towards the wall on her right that was not made of glass. She hardened her fist and got herself into a bent knee stance. She pulled back her arm and turned her waist, keeping her feet planted. Finally, she swung her hips and arm to punch through the wall.
The wall had shattered due to the force of her punch. Misen was filled with hope and she grabbed two of the spikes to use them as weapons. She enhanced her legs and feet and ran faster than she had before. Upon exiting her room she saw other demons and creatures captured in glass cells like her own. She had no time to feel remorse for her fellow captives. She kept running and running going from gallery to gallery in hopes of an exit. She did find a set of stairs that went upward. She quickly ran up the stairs and just as she made it out of a secret passage that led into the main house. Spikes were launched at her, but this time she destroyed them with her enhanced fists. She then threw the two spikes she had been carrying into the window. The glass was instantly destroyed. Just as she was about to escape through a window. A dart with an extremely powerful sedative was lodged into her neck. Which caused her to collapse, she was then taken to a different room by the collector. Despite her body no longer listening to her, she stayed conscious.
“How naughty, to think you would just destroy the wall instead of the glass. It’s fascinating how you strengthened your body in order to break through and move faster. Your misbehavior deserves punishment though.” Was all Misen heard before she passed out from the sedative.
Misen awoke to being unable to move her body. She was tied down to a metal chair by her ankles and wrists. Her body was once again pierced by spikes, but this time these spikes were smaller. They were also placed in deliberate pressure point spots to prevent Misen from moving her body.
“You recover quickly, you weren’t passed out from the sedative very long. That sedative is enough to make an upper tier demon sleep for days. Yet, you awoke within minutes. As for your punishment I’m going to repeatedly cut parts of your body apart. Normally, the subject would die from blood loss or shock, but not you Miss immortal.” The collector said with a smile. She then proceeded to use a small knife to slice open the top of Misen’s fingers. The blade was coated with a substance that burned the wound. It was like receiving a paper cut then having lemon juice sprayed on the wound but way worse. Misen’s breathing became heavy and she tried to yell, but her mouth had been gagged. She only managed a muffled scream of pain. Her tormentor then poured some liquid on Misen’s eyes that burned intensely. Luckily, the actual pain was short lived as her eyes healed. That disappointed her tormentor, but that didn’t stop her tormentor’s pace, as she broke each of Misen’s fingers with a hammer. Everytime her fingers regenerate they would be crushed and broken once again. It was a twisted game of whack a mole. It was only stopped when the collector received a liquid from a masked subordinate. The liquid was then injected into Misen, but she didn’t feel any different.
“Let me guess you don’t feel any different and are wondering what I just injected you with? Allow me to show you.” The collector said with a twisted smile. She then got a tiny nail and went to prick Misen’s finger. Misen was confused because the nail looked ordinary and a simple prick on her finger wouldn’t do much. However, she was wrong and the pain radiated throughout her entire body. That simple prick was the most painful thing she had experienced. Misen screamed in pain, she couldn’t even kill herself by biting her tongue even if she could get the gag off. She was only holding on at the mere hope of seeing her friends again.
“What is that nail?” Misen said, muffled.
“That was an ordinary nail. What you were injected with is a drug that temporarily gets rid of the target’s pain tolerance. With the additional effect of increasing their pain receptors’ sensitivity by a hundredfold. It's said to last an entire day, but with your body it may only last an hour. It’s expensive so I’ll have to make the most out of it.” The collector gleefully laughed, as she began the real torture session.
Misen’s arms were cut off and when they regenerated she cut the wrists. This did remove the spikes from Misen’s arms though. Though it didn’t seem like the collector realized that. The demon then sharpened her finger nails and plunged her hand right into Misen’s abdomen. Misen’s vomited blood which freed her from the gag. She was losing a lot of blood, which normally she would be fearful of. However, she wanted to lose control and tear this demon limb from limb. The demon repeatedly cut off Misen’s fingers and watched them regenerate. She was having a ton of fun torturing an immortal. To her, Misen was a toy that would never break. She had forgotten that she was punishing Misen, and was enthralled with breaking Misen over and over. She sliced open the skin on Misen’s arm and pulled it apart. She watched as Misen’s body kept trying to reconnect the separated skin. But she kept preventing it from being able to reconnect. While her hands were busy disfiguring Misen’s upper body. She used her tail to slash apart Misen’s thighs. To give Misen the most amount of pain she could give her.
Finally, the moment came when she had lost enough blood that she lost her humanity. She stopped screaming in pain which confused the collector. She used her no longer disabled hands to free herself from the spikes and restraints. Once free Misen used her sword to drain the blood of the demon. While the demon was regenerating from that, Misen tore out her own heart and then shoved it down the demon’s throat. The drug that was flowing in Misen’s blood was now inside of the collector. The demon realizing this fact began to panic.
“Misen, we can talk about this. Can’t we?” The demon panicked. Misen gave her a dead cold stare. Then proceeded to tear off the demon’s limbs. Over and over again. Then Misen dragged the woman by her leg out of the room and ran extremely fast and painted the hallway floor with the demon’s blood. Misen then skewered the demon by her abdomen onto her sword and repeatedly drained her blood to refuel her supply. The demon woman screamed in pain from having her blood drained from her repeatedly. The normal pain from being drained was increased a hundredfold by the drug. The demon woman tried to slash Misen’s wrists to get her to drop the sword. She also tried to push herself up and off the sword. Only for her to slide back down once her blood was drained.
Despite what most had thought, demons can not regenerate forever, and eventually the demoness stopped regenerating and died on Misen’s sword. Misen then threw the dried up corpse onto the floor. A painful fitting end to the woman who tortured Misen so horrifically.
Misen had regained her sanity, but she was determined to escape the demon realm. The drug had also worn off. Luckily, the masked subordinate from earlier led Misen into a portal room that led to the human realm. They also gave her stuff back to her. The most important thing being money. They were afraid they would be next on Misen’s rampage. Misen had made it out of the demon realm and back into the human realm.
Misen had made it back from the demon realm, but how much time had passed Misen did not know. She also was unsure of where she ended up after getting back into the human realm. She started laughing, she was unsure if she would ever make it out of there before she truly lost her sanity. She was in an empty plains and she wandered around for a while, and ate a wild animal for food. She went over to a river and she saw herself in the reflection. Her body was unharmed, but her eyes were clearly those of someone traumatized.
She took a moment to drink some water and breath before continuing down the river in hopes of finding a human civilization. She also needed some new clothing as her current clothes were ruined. She kept walking along the river until she saw a merchant cart going along a bridge. She quickly approached the merchant. Her ruined clothes covered in blood startled the man.
“I’d like to buy some clothing please.” Misen tried to give her most polite tone to the man. The merchant regained his composure and went into customer service mode.
“Sure, though the only woman’s clothes I have on me is this white kimono with a green obi. Is that alright?” The man asked. Misen accepted and paid with some coins. Though the coins confused the man. He accepted them but he was surprised to see such old coins still in amazing condition.
“I have a quick question: what year is it?” Misen asked, she was curious to know how much time had passed since she was in the demon realm.
“That’s easy, it's the year 1750.” The man cheerfully said. He was a little worried what the suspicious woman might ask him. However, Misen’s face was stunned and she realized it had been thirty years since she was dragged into the demon realm. “Are you okay Miss? I can take you to the nearest kingdom. I’m on my way to Mudhorn now.” Misen accepted his offer and silently rode on the man’s cart.
While traveling on the road they were attacked by a quartet of hobgoblins, but Misen quickly decapitated all of them. She was stronger and faster now. The merchant thanked her for saving him. “I’ll protect you and your cargo till we make it to Mudhorn.” Misen confidently promised. The merchant was thankful and immediately accepted the help. They made it to Mudhorn which was a kingdom full of dark brown wooden houses. The merchant showed his identification and Misen showed hers. However, it confused the guard because the style of adventurer tag hadn’t been in circulation for a decade. So Misen had to instead pay the fee to get in. The coins she had confused them as well but they still accepted it. After parting ways with the merchant she wandered the town and went into a bathroom to change into the clothes she bought.
“The coins are different, and the adventurer identifications are changed as well. A lot can change in thirty years, it seems. Thirty years means everyone should be in their fifties. They are definitely older, but at least I won’t have to meet their descendants haha.” She joked to herself. She finished changing into the white kimono and tied the green broad sash around her waist. She was able to get it to fit decent enough. While she wandered around town she saw the adventurers guild and walked up to the receptionist. The building style didn’t really change from the typical adventurers guild thirty years ago.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
The receptionist was a young woman who looked to be in her early twenties. She had blue hair and brown eyes. She wore a button up uniform. Misen showed her adventurer tag and the woman didn’t recognize it at all.
“I’d like to get a new identification thingy.”
“Hmm, it looks real, but I don’t recognize the design.” She said, whilst she contemplated believing it was real or not. An older lady came up to her.
“What’s wrong?” The lady asked, before noticing the tag. “That’s the tag design from ten years ago. Ma’am I’ve gotta ask where did you get one so well preserved?” She asked Misen.
“Well I recently escaped the demon realm and it seems that some years have passed. This is my tag, and I’d like whatever the new thing is.” Misen explained.
“Coming back at least ten years later is rough. Let’s give you the new system. Please hold out your hand.” The lady brought out a magic device and Misen got a magical imprint on her hand. That faded and then the lady explained that she just has to think about manifesting it and her identification will manifest itself above her hand.
“This reminds me of the ring I got from the Hawkhand family. I wonder if it’s still there.” Misen muttered as she manifested the family crest. To the shock of everyone present. She quickly dematerialized it after making sure it still worked. She then looked around and was surprised by all the shocked faces.
“You know the Hawkhand family? It was them who reformed the whole adventurer identification system.” The younger receptionist, surprised, excitedly said.
“I guess, I met an old lady a while ago and got that from her. I didn’t know her family would end up reforming things.” Misen laughed it off. She then left, leaving the shocked faces behind. Misen wandered around for a bit and then noticed someone was following her. She tried to lose them in an alleyway but they followed her in.
“Do I have business with you? She asked the woman who followed her.
“I heard of a swordswoman who was using old coins and the adventurer's old tag system that was changed a decade ago. That sword, that black hair, and those silver eyes. Would you happen to be Misen Miyano?” The woman asked.
“Who’s asking?” Misen had her thumb pushing up the hilt getting ready to draw.
“Oh that’s right my name is Irarine. Voulin has been looking for you.” Irarine got rid of her disguise and revealed her dark brown hair and brown eyes. The tension immediately dissipated the moment she mentioned Voulin’s name. Misen no longer was prepared to draw her sword and calmed down. “If you don’t mind, then let’s go see him now.” She held up a stone and a magic circle surrounded them.
“That would be great.” Misen said, as she was teleported to a building alongside Irarine. The building looked to be a house of some kind. Though it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. The house looked more modern than most buildings she had seen, but still resembled the style of house she knew. It was made of brick and had a tiled roof. The person who opened the door was an older man in his fifties. He had blond hair and had a familiar green bandanna tied to his shoulder.
“Irarine you’re back early, what’s the matt-.” He paused the moment he saw Misen’s face. “You really didn’t age a bit. It may not have been a long time since we departed for you. But for me it’s been thirty years.” He was stumbling on his words as tears streamed down his face and he went in for a hug.
“I’m taking a long vacation.” Irarine blurted out.
“We were so devastated when we lost you. We thought we would never see you again, but we finished the journey like you told us. I hoped that you would appear again after we had finished. I even began to pray with Frey and Raffie. Hoping one of the gods would grant my wish. Though that look in your eyes tells me you weren’t rescued by the gods, and you went through something awful.” Voulin explained, as he continued to hug Misen.
“I just escaped, I was tortured in probably the worst way imaginable by a demon calling herself the collector. Don’t worry I killed that bitch and got revenge. The only thing that kept me going was the thought of seeing you three again. But hey I learned a few things like I can enhance and strengthen my body by controlling the blood in my body. Also that if you drain a demon’s blood enough they will eventually stop regenerating. I’m so glad to see you again as well.” Misen was trying to play it off, but couldn’t help the tears from falling down her face, as she hugged Voulin. “So how much has changed in thirty years haha.” Misen jokingly asked.
“Dad, who's that young woman?” Asked two young eighteen year old girls. They both had blond hair and had hazel colored eyes. Though one had long hair and the other short hair.
“A lot has changed haha.” Voulin laughed. “Come inside, Misen.” Voulin invited Misen inside his home. Misen saw a ring on his finger and recognized it to be a wedding ring. The girls recognized the name Misen as the immortal woman in stories of their father’s past.
“That’s Misen?” The short haired girl said surprised. “She doesn’t look a day over twenty five. I thought you were lying when you said you were in a party with an immortal woman. You used to tell us stories about your adventures during your mercenary days.” Misen was a little surprised that the girls knew who she was. However, it made sense that Voulin would mention her name.
“Yes, this strange woman is Misen.” Voulin jokes.
“Well you better have some drinks for me.” Misen laughed.
“You think I didn’t stock up on drinks over the past thirty years? You’re probably curious as to where Frey and Raffie are. Well using my numerous connections and wealth, I bought them a nice area of land in a magical forest. Using the combined efforts of Raffie’s magical knowledge and my wealth, we created a hidden sanctuary for the red wolf people. Using the guise that it’s just one of the many properties I own no one dares trespass. It’s also a little dangerous, but they’ve gotten used to the path. Of course they can come and go as they please.” Voulin explained. Voulin and Misen were talking and drinking. Misen was very thankful to have alcohol after everything that happened. Voulin and her were having vodka from Dione.
“I’ll have to visit them after I leave here. Also, did you end up marrying the woman I saw you with while I was on my date?”
“Jessica? Yeah me and her continued to date a couple years after the journey ended. Then I proposed to her in a personal secret spot in Stellarina. And well here we are.” Voulin said as he flashed his ring and presented his two children. Who both posed confidently. “They're both quite bold and confident. Just like their parents. Right now Jessica is out, but she’ll be back later.” Voulin chuckled. He was a proud father and husband now. The two had a great time talking with each other. It had been thirty years for Voulin and the time Misen spent in the demon realm felt like forever. They continued to talk until the night and after they caught up, Jessica arrived.
Jessica was as beautiful as ever even in her fifties. Her coppery blonde hair retained its youth. Her hazel eyes were even bolder now. She had some business to take care of, so she got back home late. She was very surprised to see Misen again. Though their previous encounter was brief, she knew a lot about Misen from her file, as well as what Voulin had told her.
“It seems you’ve made it out of the demon realm. Though, it seems you weren’t unscathed. Your expression is much lighter, and the darkness is buried deeper.” Jessica said. “I’m glad you’re back, now we can finally stop wasting precious resources trying to find you.” She sarcastically jokes. It was very apparent that Voulin was living very happily now with his family. Misen was happy for him and she decided she would continue her journey alone. She would definitely come to visit from time to time. During the talk with Voulin she learned that the forest where Raffie and Frey were at was unsurprisingly in Sherasil’s domain. However, as much as Voulin would love to let Misen use the secret teleportation network. He had to settle with only letting her have a teleportation key to his house. Misen slept in a guest room.
In the morning before Misen left, Voulin swapped out all of her coins for the newer ones. So she would stand out less. She had a decent amount saved up but she could always get more as an adventurer. The short haired daughter spoke up before Misen left. “Since dad is too old to go adventuring with you. How about I be his replacement?”
“Sorry, but we don’t need you to become an alcoholic.” Voulin lifted up his daughter by her shoulders and brought her inside.
“But you described your adventures with Misen as so much fun.” The girl pouted.
“It was fun, but as a father I can’t send my daughter on a journey with such a bad influence.” Voulin laughed while motioning for Misen to head out. Misen waved goodbye as she activated the teleportation key. A teleportation circle appeared under her and before she was teleported.
“Don’t worry I’ll be back for drinks and next time it won’t take thirty years.” Misen said, then she was teleported back to the Mudhorn alleyway. Her sudden appearance surprised someone who was walking through the alleyway. They quickly escaped not wanting anything to do with the person who appeared in an alleyway. Misen went back to the adventurers guild to purchase a map.
“You’re back, what can I help you with?” Said the young receptionist from last time. She was sitting at her counter and invited Misen over.
“I’d like to purchase a map. My knowledge of the geography is probably a little outdated.” Misen laughed.
“Right away, that’ll be one gold coin.” The receptionist said as she pulled out a map from a drawer. Misen gave her a gold coin then grabbed the map. “Where are you headed?” She asked.
“I need to go to Sherasiland. But I don’t see it on the map.” Misen said as she looked across the map. Some of the names remained the same like Dione. While others seemed to have changed. Somehow the landscape had also changed, so Misen couldn’t recognize it.
“Ah, you mean Herail? I remember when I was young the church lost a lot of power and it became ruled by a king. That king renamed it to Herail as a sign of taking power away from the church.” The woman explained. She pointed out the location on the map. She showed Misen the fastest route to Herail. Which would take around a week to get there by wagon.
“Thank you for the help.” Misen thanked the woman for her help. Misen ate some breakfast at a tavern. Afterwards she left Mudhorn and began to head in the direction of Herail. Misen enhanced her lower body with additional blood. Then she ran in the direction she was given. She was moving much faster than a wagon. The longer she ran the faster she went. While she was running she ended up becoming lost in thought, and accidentally ran right through an orc. The orc was attacking a nobel who’s guards were busy dealing with other monsters. Misen then killed the rest of the monsters and before the nobel could thank her, she left. Thanks to the speed at which she was running the blood that she had gotten on her was blown off.
Misen then took a break to eat dinner before continuing to run. Her destination was the forest near Herail and not Herail itself. She made it to the entrance of the forest which was full of no trespassing signs and had a fence. The forest didn’t have anything in particular that would attract people. People knew of and respected Voulin, and they didn’t want to get on his bad side. So no one dared trespass upon his land. The few that did, perished from the dangers of the forest.
“So this is the place that Voulin told me about. Well, I wonder how many red wolves live there. It was rare to see more than two red wolves in an entire city.” Misen muttered to herself, as she hopped the fence. The forest had tall trees that all seemed to look the same. Misen kept trekking through the forest and was greeted by monsters which she easily slew. However, any future monsters she encountered she intimidated or snuck by.
“As much as I’d like to just kill any monsters that I come across. They act as a deterrent that protects the sanctuary.” Misen sighed, as she went deeper and deeper into the forest. Not too long after, she saw man made wooden posts that she followed. Which brought her to a cave, she walked through the cave and she ended up in an area surrounded by trees and hills. There was a waterfall in the back. It was a town and there were hundreds of red wolves living their lives.
Misen’s sudden appearance startled the guards and they attempted to warn everyone about an intruder. But Misen held their hands back to prevent them from causing a panic. “Listen, I'd rather you not create mass hysteria. I’m just here to visit some friends.” Misen told them, as they tried and failed to pull their hands away from her.
“Who are you here to visit, we weren’t informed of any visitors.” They skeptically said. They didn’t believe this strong stranger was here for anything good.
“Even if it’s been thirty years I doubt she’d forget my scent. I’ve been here long enough so she should’ve picked up my scent by now.” Misen said, still restraining the guards.
Suddenly, someone came running with great speed. While they were running they created a dust trail behind them. She shouted out Misen’s name. “Miiiiiisen!” The familiar looking red haired woman with gold eyes. Though she was in her fifties now, she still retained some youth. Her now larger tail wagged as she lept in for a hug. Misen caught her and hugged her. The appearance of the woman who was now hugging Misen surprised the guards.
“Chieftess??? You know this woman? You should’ve informed us she was coming.” The guards were stunned.
“Frey, look at you, you’re now the chief of the largest population of red wolves. You also barely look thirty, I gotta say I’m impressed. Also what’s with that strength and speed you displayed? Haha.” Misen said, happy to see Frey once again. Once they broke from their hug Frey explained that Misen was trapped in the demon realm. She then invited Misen to her home which was atop of a hill and the highest and largest home in the village. It was as fancy of a house one could get in a village.
Once she entered through the door, she was greeted by children with red hair and wolf ears running around. And an older man chasing after them using wind magic to speed himself up. His hair was a little grayed but it was the familiar dark green hair and light purple eyes Misen knew.
“Oh Frey you’re back, why did you run off like that. You wound up all the young ones.” He lightly scolded Frey. Before trying to grab the last energetic child, which was picked up in front of him. He was looking down so he didn’t see the person’s face.
“I believe this one is yours.” Misen said, with a smile. She was holding up the child and handed them to him. Raffie just stared at Misen’s face before gently placing down the kid. Tears went down his face, as he rushed in and hugged Misen.
“Misen, I thought we would never see you again!” Raffie cried, hugging Misen tightly.
“Daddy is a crybaby.” Said the child Misen had picked up. Not too long after the other five children came running down from their rooms. Misen was then surrounded by eight children of varying ages and heights. They all had red hair, but some of them had streaks of Raffie’s dark green hair. Some had gold colored eyes while others had Raffie’s light purple eyes. They were all bombarding Misen with questions.
“How did you escape the demon realm?” One asked.
“Are you really immortal?” Another asked.
“What were mom and dad like?” And another asked.
“Now now children, Misen will answer your questions in due time.” Frey lifted up Misen out of the circle of children.
“You two were busy these last thirty years. I can see where your strength came from.” Misen let out a big laugh. Frey then brought Misen to the family room of the house, so she could sit down. Misen showed her healing factor by cutting her finger on her sword and showed them the wound healing itself. To the amazement of the children.
“I killed the demon who imprisoned me. I was able to escape thanks to figuring out how to control the blood in my body. Using that I was able to strengthen my body and escape. Though it wasn’t easy, I was able to hold on thanks to the hope of seeing you all again.” Misen didn’t say what happened with the torture, as there were children present. “Enough with my bullshit, I wanna hear how you two have been. I’ve already talked and drank with Voulin.”
“Was the first thing you did after you escaped, drink?” Frey teased Misen.
“No, I had to replace the clothes I was wearing. They got completely ruined. Luckily I happened to run into a merchant and this was the only female clothing he had.” Misen showing off her white kimono.
“The green sash is kinda funny, given the meaning.” Raffie chuckled. After answering everyone’s questions. Misen stayed over for dinner and after dinner was done, the drinks came out. It was cheaper stuff than Voulin’s, but it was just as enjoyable of a time. Talking with Misen was extremely nostalgic for Frey and Raffie. They had a lot of catching up to do. Next time they’ll have to invite Voulin and completely reunite the party.
