"I guess I never got to use this part of the ability before, because I pushed everyone away." Travis stated while the Vetraxan attached itself to him, giving him a creepy feeling hug. The long legs of a spider in the torso of something that resembled an elementary school kid, it was not a pleasant looking creature in the slightest.
Noah had twin pistols and a few drones flying around, fully ready to take down the monster child. While Mira was in her combat stance ready to push the creature away from her master.
"It's all right, you can calm down. It's one of us now, Noah I want information on Vetraxans. If they're legal to keep as companions like Ara then we can register...her? It?" Travis shrugged, now that it was under contract he was sure that it could no longer harm him.
Noah quickly got to work. "They are monsters that start at the Elite Bronze-Grade, with the strongest ones reaching Gold-grade. It is said that their original broodmothers are comparable to the Platinum-grades though this is only an unconfirmed hunch. So long as it's not a Broodmother candidate, they can be kept as pets or even companions that we can bring to combat."
"Then we're safe, the description describes it as a pureblood. I'll need to settle on a name soon, but for now welcome to the group little one!"
Travis would eventually name the creature "Nyx", registering it as one of their new members. The combat rating that it showed the next day was comparable to a Basic Silver-grade, a powerful companion joined their ranks.
This specific Terran realm was a comfortable one for their whole group, it was in stark contrast to the state of the earth realm that they were in a little less than a week ago. Mira was now partnered with the young Vetraxan, while Travis himself went on smaller hunting missions with Ara. Noah focused on procuring tech and gathering information while he also gained some credits through repair jobs and maintenance work.
A routine would be created for the group, with the main goal of funding an actual house. Travis liked the idea of staying in the new reality with little to no plans of ever returning to his original realm.
'A chill life, where I can finally live it up without needing to be frugal. This is something that I could only dream about in the past!' Things were finally looking up for him.
Surely, nothing bad would happen right?
---
The options were enticing this time around. Thought not a single one was above Silver-grade, the fact that they were all in silver made the choice even harder than it already was.

Name: Bragnash
Combat Rating: [Intermediate Silver-Grade]
Description: A human with demonic ancestry, originating from an Amos realm. While physically weak his demonic ancestry has made him an expert in spellcasting while also giving him a gift that is uncommon to humans, the gift of a high mana pool. He died after the church of light in his realm found him, purging him at the tender age of 14.
Contract Type: Renewable [5 days]
"Young and volatile but effective as a spellcaster. It'll take a while to get Vantak so this option doesn't sound too bad." While Travis deliberated on the options, Noah can be seen right behind him reading over his shoulder.
"It's one of the two renewables as well, it might be best to go with the second or third one instead."
Name: "Nersook" Clone No. 241
Combat Rating: [Intermediate Silver-Grade]
Description: Originating from a Terran realm, Nersook was born out of a lab. A human clone of a powerful soldier who had a potent innate ability. Naturally at the Elite Bronze-grade even without his innate ability, this clone died only two weeks after his creation.
Contract Type: Permanent
"Permanent, that's always enticing but registering his biodata for them might bring us some problems Lord Travis." Noah continued his spiel. "Though a clone is a powerful ally, they are those that have abilities rare or powerful enough to even be considered for such a subject."
"I've read up a bit on clones too, we can buy them if we have the budget for it correct?" Travis yawned out. "But even the clones that are not meant for combat are valued at 30,000 credits so I can only imagine the costs for something like this. Noah, can you look up the price for a Nersook?"
"I found it after just one search my lord, Nersooks are apparently Silver-grade elite clones that are valued at almost 2,175,000 credits. They have a rare innate ability that is only revealed when you've bought one. They're a collector's item apparently and are now discontinued. It seems that the original's family were not too happy with the cloning of their relative, who was considered a hero in their home realm."
"How much would a comparable, non-collectible clone cost? I remember that the Bronze-grade ones fetch for at least a couple hundred thousand but a silver-grade at 2 mill? Even as a limited product they must be onto something."
"Comparable clones are at a little less than a million sir and clones in the gold-grade are nearly non-existent. At least none in the trade market."
Name: Carnagoon, Fel-Axe
Combat Rating: [Intermediate Silver-Grade]
Description: An Orc and demon hybrid, born out of the pools of Amos. He died during a full scale realm invasion that is still currently ongoing.
Contract Type: Renewable [5 days]
"How about this last one? Orc-demon with a renewable contract. Having the extra muscle would be helpful but we are currently in a human leaning realm. Won't they kill him if they see him at the registration center?" Travis was clearly not feeling the last option. "We can get non-humans at a later time, for now I think it's option 1 or 2!"
"Sir Travis, I think I have a solution for the problems with the clone. Getting a fake or modified ID is doable with my skills and since he's not a popular clone type we can just give him a makeover. The lack of spellcasters isn't a problem at the moment, the clone can provide an extra source of income due to its nature as a combat clone too!" Noah would continue on with his speech and suggestions for a few more minutes while Travis sat on the decision.
"All right, we're going for the clone then."
