Chapter 55

Earth Doll lv 15

Wind Spirit lv 15

Plant Buddy lv 15

Some kinda elementals? Maybe a little too low leveled for me. Nevertheless, I cast Beam Torrent and engaged. First of all, I shot fire beams at the Plant guy, making short work of it. Next, more fire beams targeting the Wind Spirit, it caught fire and dissipated with a scream. Lastly, I switched my beams into water, and shot it at the earth elemental. It chipped and turned into mud before perishing.

After a few hours of exploration, I have stumbled upon a total of ten different varieties of enemies. Within the outer ten kilometers; besides the previous three, snake-like Water Puppet can be found beside bodies of water and Lizard-like Fire Tykes would once in a while come out of small crevices. Deeper inside, maybe another twenty kilometers or so in, all five elements are still present, but rather than having their own forms and monikers, they are uniformly humanoid and are all element-something Elementals and is at a minimum level of 25. Twice I found a hidden treasure chest, courtesy of Mana Sense, on a narrow high cliff or inside of a tree hollow for example. They are approximately the size of a small shoe box, but seem to hold more space within; I acquired a few bottles of elemental resistance potions in two different qualities, an apprentice spellbook; Rock Catapult, and a Neophyte Wand. Lastly, the Elementals would once in a while drop monster cores. Which is simply more food for my ring.

I thoroughly explored the first 30 kilometers of the nearest peak in a quarter pie-shaped area before calling it quits, this much information is sufficient for now. Elemental enemies, two peaks, minimum levels of 15 and 25, potentially higher in deeper regions. And random treasure chests, no reward rolls, and quick to respawn. Sitting atop a decently high tree outside of the dungeon influence, I text Henry a sufficiently detailed summary of the dungeon before continuing on to the next one, rechecking my updates for the last 42 days of traveling the country. 'Updates please.'

Okay~.

The next Dungeon is 40 kilometers to the east from the Hills of Awareness, creating a triangle of sorts between Rumah and both Dungeons. This one is located on the foot of another mountain where an oval patch of mist-covered land, 2.5 kilometers long and 1 wide maybe found. On my map, exactly where the dungeon symbol is pinned is an open gate made of two large tusks, through it a mist-less road continue, and floating above the gate is a writing; Taman Safari. This? Pre-integration, most locals would know that Taman Safari is a zoo located at Bogor. Amused, I walked past the gate—but instead bumped onto a solid wall.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Damn fake scenery! 'Yes!'

My eyes blink unbidden and I find myself standing in a perfect replica of an oasis. Behind me, I can see a row of playfully designed ticket gates that leads to a typical gift shop—one that is eerily empty. Looking forward, I see a misty path approximately two cars wide, only the next ten meters are visible through the mist… This better not be some horror themed Dungeon!

After a few minutes of doubt, I commanded my armor to wholy encompass my body and had it activate its camouflage before taking measured steps forward. Gradually, an exhibit comes into view; Desert Snakes, it says. The door opens into a large room made in the image of a desert; sand, cacti, rocks, did I mention sand? Last but not least, Mana Sense found what my eyes could not... Snakes!

I gotta admit, all that hype of fighting snakes in a desert was for nothing. By persisting with my self-given daily quest of devouring creatures for their Attributes, I'm growing much too fast. Like, a snail racing a cheetah difference in fast! Regardless, I find myself enjoying the delve. After the first exhibit, the paths would fork to give me options; Coyote Den, Gobi Bear Caves, Desert Spider and Scorpions, Rhino Oasis, Throne of the Lion and House of Elephant, among plenty other desert faunas. Oftentimes, past exhibits would reappear. The knowledge that our Earth animals are preserved delights me. And while I had the chance, I devoured some lions, fully focused on assimilating their night vision.

After massacring any animals I come about—I'm in a Dungeon, they'll revive! Don't judge—the next building I entered has ticket gates on its entrance and exits, one where I came from and the other my only way out. Past that, I find myself standing on a metal walkway that functions as a path between massive aquariums. I want gills to breathe underwater, yet have no idea of what creature to take it from. As I do not want to assimilate something incompatible and cease functioning above water. I shivered at the thought.

The next biome, because I assume there is a theme here; was grassland, then tundra, and finally forest. The small creatures average at around level 22, creatures the size of a human at 23, while big creatures were about level 30, last but not least, the biggest creatures were level 39. Besides night vision, I also devour-assimilated a wild dog's sense of smell and hearing as they are most definitely better than our human ones.

I'm having so much fun that I ignored all five options to exit the dungeon after every biome. Thus, upon clearing the dungeon, I was allowed five rolls! Excluding the bonus rolls provided by my title. Though, for some reason, it had only upgraded my Depthblazer title by 1. Maybe from clearing of the Desert biome. Checking after the delve, a cooldown of 24 hours is required before re-entry. Another report to base; potential first clear title for 4 different teams, Earth animals, clear condition assumed to be to defeat all medium and larger animals, biomes and levels… before I am once again semi-invisible and up in the night air.

My flight back to Rumah is uneventful, nothing on the planet—Except maybe Barry, wherever he is—own stats that are comparable to mine.

"Fancy seeing you here." Jennifer quipped from behind me. I am currently sitting alone on a bench in the city square, observing a five layered circular water fountain. Its outer lowest circle is carved with various plants, the second lowest carved with various Earth animals, then the third has humans followed by mythical animals and topped off with a very homey-elegantly designed house---a rumah. Whoever designed this has great taste.

"Hi!" I grin at her. "I found a very interesting Dungeon and had a thought. See, almost every Dungeon is currently uncleared, which meant they would grant titles. It's nothing very amazing but every little bit helps, right. I reckon it is too much of a waste if I'm the only one getting them."

While waiting for her reply, my eyes return to observe the fountain. "Who made this anyway?"

"No idea, she replied." Her head turned to look at the object in question, one hand absentmindedly rubbing her slightly bulging belly. We conversed, then I followed her to dinner, after which I discussed my thoughts with Rumah's four leaders. Eventually the discussion transitioned to transportation. Without roads, only offroad vehicles are capable of effectively traversing the terrains, unfortunately there are not many of those left.

Creating the stone roads within Rumah had been a mere day's work, but that was accomplished through the efforts of a little more than fifteen spellcasters using Stone Shape and only within the confines of our walls, which is maybe, currently, only 7 x 4 kilometers long and wide respectively. The distance from here to Taman Safari is upwards of 80 kilometers long, not to mention having to traverse untamed lands.

In the meantime, I decided to bring a team of five to delve into the Dungeon located at Kedoya; that one hospital building I saw which had a crowd of spirits hover-lurking above its roof. This one is close enough we can make the journey on foot.

Title awarded Depthblazer 3

Trait gained Dense Hollow Bones

You are now level 24

There were too many varieties of animals that I opted to just check the final count. Besides the Trait, which I accepted. I gained multiple animal materials, tools commonly found in a zoo and some of their magical counterparts, as well as 2 different branded Ice Cream. Most will be dumped onto my dad to do as he sees fit, two was dumped into my mouth. This Dungeon is gonna be popular!

Ten or so kilometers in an hour is fast for pre-integration humans… I would've been bored out of my mind if not for the company. Kirana, Henry, Roy, Natasha and Yuliana; Assassin, spellcaster, tank, second tank, and second spellcaster respectively. In crispy humor and companionship, we arrive. Thankfully the spirits roaming above the house are mere illusions as they disappeared once within a certain distance.

"Lex talionis is the law of retaliation. Meaning, a punishment almost exactly replicates the offense committed." You-know-who said.

"Uhh, guys. There's a select difficulty option." I ignore Henry and inform the others… Roy and Kirana are too brave for anything below Hard. Henry agrees for research purposes, to create a guide of sorts for future delvers. While the last three are just following along, me included—just here for the title. Thus, I answer 'hard!'

My eyes open to the sight of an ancient mansion, built using brick walls, dark wood and black roofs. A road—upon which we stand—connects the fence behind us to a roundabout decorated with the classic mermaid statue water fountain, before the road widens into a large parking lot, a short ornate stair bridges the road and a majestic double door. All around us, a well tended garden may be seen. Lined with beautiful trees and shrubs. To the left, a path leads us to an elegant miniature waterfall-pond, while a cozy gazebo occupies its right. Ten cars can be seen parked within the parking lot.
