Chapter 114

Polina facepalms… in embarrassment? A faint muffled apology can be heard. "Sorry."

These bunch of Vampires are pretty relaxed. As besides the few dozens that stands in formation behind Polina, nobody else even noticed me. And to make matters worse---for the enemy, these few dozen men are clearly under her jurisdiction as a simple gesture of her hand calmed their blooming hostility. Standing beside her, and having shown no reaction to my sudden arrival, are two other cloaked individuals. Even after the apology, I keep silent, giving Polina the chance and time to explain.

Something she was quick to offer. "Those 5 refused to follow my leadership. Because they think I am too weak, despite my higher racial standing. Instead, they choose to follow an ancient coven who wishes to conquer our newly integrated planet, our galaxy."

"I am powerless to stop them," she says again after a brief pause. She then introduced the two individuals who did choose to follow her lead, I do not bother committing their names to memory—not until they prove themselves friendly... I also did not ask her regarding former members of Solntse.

"So, any reason we need to keep those 5 alive?" I ask Polina instead, because their villainous monologue is clearly coming to an end soon.

"Killing them would cement your position as an enemy of their Lord." She warns, "but you probably don't care. Right?"

My friendly indifferent grin probably hinted at that. Just chatting with my friend here, near an army of ants led by some slightly larger ants. I shrug. "This won't take long."

Blink. I exit Subspace at the exact moment they grow furious about something Billy said and called for their army to charge. Whilst rushing forth, a large part of their forces leapt into the air and morphed into bats of various sizes. A minority took to the air in their original form, and a very small number started casting Spells; most of which are of the offensive variety.

"... Spellcasters, kaboomy! 15 - 30 aux to a main. Everyone else conjure your incarnations of war! Scorched stars, fire!!" After a brief pause—which is probably caused by our stupid enemies physically charging at our securely defended wall, without their own means of defense—several commands were launched in quick succession. This is our base of operation, it may not be the only one, but there are easily tens of thousands of people here. More than half are combatants, and half of the rest, if not all, dabbles. Our Territory has been expanded multiple times in all directions. These mere thousands of enemies stand no chance. Even without my presence…

Doubly unfortunate for them, I'm present. And only idiots go easy on their enemies! Even as the more than 50 meteor-like Scorched Stars fall upon enemy lines, large transparent avatar-like creatures grow to fill the open skies, each one fiercer than the other. And various bomb shaped ethereal mana constructs are summoned all along the walls. Seeing what awaits, our adversaries stopped charging to retreat with unrestrained chaos—rather, the sapient ones do, the undead ones mindlessly keep going.

Even before the first batch of Scorched Stars impacts the ground, the second group has been launched. Only this time, five cloaked individuals disappear from their spots atop their respective mounts to appear midair in between the hard fiery rocks and the soft fleeing army. One did Kung Fu and punched all nearby projectiles into dust, three conjured various shields which easily blocked all incoming Stars. While the last did nothing, yet all nearby Scorched Stars instantly fall to the ground, causing no harm to anything bar the land.

Very quickly facing the appearance of all 5 enemy bosses, an Incarnation of War that uncannily resembles Kirana rises in opposition. Another, who resembles Henry, follows suit. Until finally, the last Incarnation to rise is Agus's. With the three as an example, multiple Incarnations rise into the air behind them. A loud voice is heard, "KABOOMY!"

All Scorched Stars were used to bombard and hopefully exhaust the five enemy leaders while all incoming undeads were eliminated by the mighty Goblin made Spell. Thus, while our Spellcasters recover their mana, I watch both sides charge and clash midair. Incarnations of War versus Vampires. Henry, Kirana and Agus are each locked in combat with an enemy boss while the last two—one of the shield conjurer and the one with invisible powers—are free to attack our more ordinary combatants.

Which means it's my turn! Blink; this Spell is so overused, because it's so useful! Tetracubastionism. Slash-Stab, and again, repeatedly. The Shield caster is slashed into pieces, and all pieces are masterfully nudged to fall into the cube. Two Minds One, Conjure Flames + Ignite. Flames that spark with scorching heat blooms within the cube infinite numbers of times. Ignoring exclamations of surprise from both friends or foes alike, Blink! Two Minds One, Soften + Invaseviction. Within a few bites of the Mana Construct more pieces are added into the Cube. Thus, as the Spell's duration ends and the cube itself dissipates into ambient mana, not even ashes are left within. Both Vampire's remains are rendered into dust so finely, they are invisibly scattered away by the wind.

"RETREAT!" Such yells are heard all along the enemy lines, first from the three remaining Lord Spawns followed by the chain of command.

A few more last hits were launched before our side of the war called for a regroup. I take to the air and join our three leaders. Kirana was fondly complaining to Billy within their Incarnation, "I almost had him!"

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Sure you did!" He agrees, to her satisfaction.

While the two converse, Agus and Henry are keeping their eyes on the enemy. "Agus, what do you reckon they're doing?"

"Patterned circle made out of blood, various materials and chanting. Seems to be some kinda ritual." He answers. The three Lord Spawns are chanting at the highest point of their formation up on the air, below them are 9 other individuals that seem to be controlling a channel of potent pacified mana into them; with an even divide of three to a person, all of these mana are very obviously collected from even further below; from all conscious members of their army.

"I wonder what happens if their magic circle explodes?" I ask with a mischievous grin and a warning that they should move even further back. Parallel Thoughts now at level 5, I have 6 minds working in conjunction within my head. Casting Twin Helical Yin Yang Grenade using all 6 minds while maintaining full control of my body, Blink and flight is no easy matter, but nothing is impossible with a bit of effort … Before the Helical Grenade materializes; I Blink to a spot above them, release the materialized weapon then Blink away, all within the span of a fraction of a second.

BOOM! Earth element in the form of flammable particles followed by explosive fire. It's beautiful!

The ritual backfired and injured all participating individuals, the three bosses vomited blood and was hit hard by the explosion caused from clashing mana. So while the three are blown back in different directions. The 9 assistant-ritualist fall to the ground in various states of unhealth; some stopped breathing, a few others experience seizures or are bleeding from all 7 orifices. While the rest of their army fall weakly to the ground due to the heavy damage, fortunately for them; they still retain their consciousness. Idiots! Rituals are rituals for a reason, you prepare in advance rather than start one right before your enemy, let alone much one more powerful.

"STAND DOWN AND YOU MIGHT GET TO KEEP YOUR LIVES!" I yell the next instant, pushing mana into my voice whilst utilizing Battle Command and Teach. The latter Skill is not meant to be used this way, but hopefully, this will help send the message across better; that it will hopefully Teach them surrendering is the better option.

"What about those 3?" Henry asks.

"No wait, explain to me why are we giving mercy?" Kirana questions with doubt.

Glancing at Polina and her entourage standing quietly behind enemy lines, I reply. "I wanna introduce you guys to a... friend, yeah. I think she counts as one. Though feel free to first kill all 3 enemy bosses, at least."

A majority of these 15 people within the 3 Incarnations of Wars followed my eyes to glance at Polina, we're all educated people here and small clues can explain plenty to the right people. They also understood that the 3 leaders are unredeemable. So without uttering another word, everyone tagged a target and flew away to accomplish the deed. Henry and Kirana unceremoniously kills their targets, while Agus approaches with the last one grasped within the palm of his Incarnation.

"This one begs for mercy," he said before getting interrupted by said Vampire.

"Yes, please… Sir! I shall risk severe injury to terminate my bond with my current Lord and agree to fall under the rule of Lord Polina instead." He begs. "I can help, please. I can organize the others and keep them away from Humans…"

He listed a plethora of skills and abilities like someone doing a job interview and their lives depends upon it, which in his case, they literally do. I smile at him, "so, you betrayed Humanity and become some Lord Spawn. For what? Your life?"

"Yes!" He nods vigorously.

"And now you choose to betray your Vampire Lord? Because your life is also on the line." He kept nodding, "so what's stopping you from betraying us again in the future?"

"That's a good point," Agus said and ended his traitorous life.

"Thank you," I say with a grin. "Now please follow me~."

---

Crash!

"HAVE NO FEAR, FOR JUSTICE IS HERE!" A bunch of people crash landed while we're discussing future plans, the lead person started yelling heroically.

"Friends of yours?" Polina asks, confused.

"I don't think I have superhero acquaintances." I tell her, equally confused. There's no mistaking that as these 5 newcomers are obviously suited up to save the world from devastation. In the lead is a man, maybe in his late twenties and wearing green and blue armor-over-spandex that reminds me of our old planet in coloration and pattern, even if not spherical in shape. The second, easily the biggest member of their 5 person team is a large metal person; one look and I'm sure that unpainted suit of unknown dark-bluish metal is durable, and loaded to the brim with heavy weaponries.

On its shoulder sits a little girl in a male suit and a cowboy hat, smirking confidently like some perverted uncle. Then, to the other side is a massive hammer leaning onto the shoulder of a lean athletic male, his black and red suit covers up everything from head to toe. Lastly a very attractive blonde woman wearing a loose doctor's coat over a nurse outfit stands at the backmost, her face expressionless.

"Are these the offenders?" Earthman asks us, his face all tough and brave in the face of his enemies. "Intruders and enemies of humankind! Have no fear citizens for I, Captain Pangea, am here!"

"You're trying too hard, man!" The armor sitting girl says, still smirking heavily. Ironically, trying way too hard to deepen her high pitched voice.

"And you're too lax, Fingergun." Captain Pangea argues.

"That's enough childrens," the suit of armor says in the voice of a strict grand auntie, the kind that is easily in her 60s but benching double your sorry ass muscles. "Which one of you is Zane? Kindly identify your adversaries in a clean and precise manner, then step aside!"

The hammer guy chuckled while the beauty took out a packet of gum out of her pocket and started cooly chewing with her arms folded under her breast, her gesture screaming; too fashionable for the world.

The first thing I could say in response to all this. is, "what kinda hero name is FingerGun?"
