(chapter 8) Magic manual

One beautiful morning, the sun's golden rays streamed through the parted curtains, casting a warm glow upon the royal chambers.

As the sunlight shined upon Sophie face, she slowly woke up.

Feeling disoriented at first and blinking her eyes before rubbing away the remnants of sleep, she realized with a jolt that she was not in her own modest room but lying in an opulent bed.

Confusion and panic gripped Sophie's heart as she slowly sat up, clutching the silky sheets tightly.

She looked through the room, before finding Amon still sitting with his eyes closed near the window, still meditating.

Noticing that Sophie woke up, Amon also opened his eyes, ending his meditation session for today while thinking

'I reached about 40% saturation in a single night, becoming a magus should be faster than anticipated.'

Noticing Sophies gaze, he looked at her and asked, "Did you sleep well?"

Still shyly grasping the silky sheets she answered in a low voice "Yes your Highness... and thank you for yesterday"

"You don't have to thank me I was at fault too, I wasn't expecting giving you some gold would turn out like that. It seems I still need to learn a bit about human behavior." Amon replied warmly.

"Also, while you were sleeping, I prepared something for you so you can protect yourself better, and I don't have to interfere if something like this happens again".

After saying that, he walked towards the bed and gave Sophie a freshly written book.

"What is that, your Highness ?" She asked.

"Well it's a book, you know what a book is don't you ?" Answered Amon in a teasing voice.

Seeing her confused reaction he sighed it was probably still a bit too early to casually joke with her like that, so he added

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

"I wrote down a cultivation method and some easy spells yesterday, after reading and understanding it you should be able to become an apprentice pretty soon.

At least after that, you are strong enough to deal with some random guard, so I don't have to intervene".

After hearing that, a sorrow smile emerged on Sophie's face she before she said in a low voice,

"thank you very much, but I can't accept this. My grandmother told me that my apidute for magic was already tested when I was a child, and it was pretty bad.

My body can contain almost no mana, so I can't even cast a simple spell, I'm sorry to disappointment you after you wrote that book for me."

However, what she heard next shocked her completely because Amon said to her,

"I know I checked it last night when you were asleep and after seeing that you are unable to use magic I used a method on you to remove every impurity inside your body so your apidute now could be considered perfect.

If you train what I wrote in that book, you should be able to become a magus in a year at most.

Although that can be fastened if you eat something like that wyvern meat we had yesterday on a regular basis.

So if I consider that you would need about 4 to 5 months depending on how fast you are able to understand what I've written".

After these words left his mouth, the room was in complete silence.

Sophie didn't know how to reply to that. As far as she knew, there never existed a method to increase the magical apidute of someone in such a short time.

Seeing her doubting expression, Amon teased her and said,

"No need to doubt what I said, do you really think I would waste my time writing that book for you while knowing you can't use magic at all ?"

Hearing that, Sophie answered abruptly, "I wouldn't dare do doubt your Highness".

However, after thinking again of everything he said she asked while blushing slightly

"Your Highness, may I be allowed to ask what method did you use at me while I was asleep to raise my apidute?"

Seeing her blushing expressing while asking shyly, Amon burst out in laughter,

"Haha... by the look on your face, you apparently care more about if I did something indecent to you at night than the method for raising the apidute itself."

Deciding to tease her a little bit more, he told her after stopping to laugh,

"Don't worry, I'm not some dense idiot who isn't able to read between the lines at all. I know you like me, so I wouldn't do anything indecent to you while you are asleep.

If I ever feel the urge to do such things to you, I would be more direct.

I would just tell you to undress yourself and lay down on my bed, or maybe start to undress you myself.

Seeing how you look at me all the time while shyly blushing every other sentence I speak to you, you would probably allow me to do quite a few things with you, wouldn't you ?"

Sophie was left speechless, not knowing what to say after hearing that.

By now, she completely forgot about the valuable book in her hands or her possibility to become a magus.

Not knowing how to react or what to say, she just hid under the silk blanket, not saying anything.

By now she was way too embarrassed to do anything, her face blushed in a crimson red hue.
