(Chapter 16) Annoyed

A few minutes later, once again walked through the hallways of the Auction House, closely followed by Alice. Fortunately, due to their little trip towards an unknown planet and their little conversation, most of the people already left, so aside from a few servants and employees of the auction house which didn't dare to talk to them, no one bothered them as they made their way towards the exit. However, right after they stepped into the entrance hall, an apprentice covered in a blue robe who was waiting in front of the entrance walked towards them and blocked their way and said in an arrogant voice "Young man, you are the bidder from lounge one aren't you ?" Not waiting for an answer, he added "Please follow me lord Hastings wishes to see you"

However, Amon just replied "Not interested" and just walked past him, ignoring the apprentice completely while thinking 'They most likely found out about the missing elves and now with no option left this lord Hastings will probably offer to buy Alice from me'. The apprentice, however, clearly angry about the way Amon treated him, followed him and tried to grab Amon on his shoulder. Yet before his hand even reached Amon suddenly the skin on his hand started to disintegrate. Not knowing what just happened, with a shocked expression written all over his face, the apprentice instinctively pulled his hand back and took a few steps back, only to realize that most of his arm was already gone. All that was left of his arm was a bloodied mess. No skin or flesh could be found, only his blank bones barely held together by some strains of muscles. Soon after he looked at his arm, the pain kicked in, and he sank to his knees and screamed out of his lungs, which caused all the bystanders to look with fear in their eyes at the bloody mess Amon had caused. However, Amon and Alice completely ignored his screams and just walked out of the auction house, completely ignoring the apprentice. Even though Alice was a bit surprised by his brutal behavior because until now Amon only showed a carefree and joking attitude towards everyone and even ignored her spitting in his face yet this apprentice received such a brutal treatment for merely trying to touch his shoulder. However, her confusion was soon lifted as Amon turned towards her and explained, "This man was in lounge 2, so he should probably work for the magi who tried buying you. Considering he lost the elves, he probably wants to make me an offer for you" Hearing that, a surprised expression emerged on Alice's face, and she asked "What do you mean with lost the elves Master ?" Thinking a few seconds on how to answer her question, Amon answered with a smirk on his face, "You could say I stole them. It's not like I am a Saint who goes around saving people. To be honest, whether they die or not wouldn't concern me much, however I don't like people like that magus Hastings. He would probably cut them apart or do other experiments with them and try to decipher the secrets behind their longevity. I know he is most likely desperate because his lifespan nearly reached his end. However, did that idiot really believe that it would be an easy endeavor to artificially increase one lifespan ? If that was the case, a lot of magi would have already done similar things. His best option would be to reach rank 2, but the artificial increase of one lifespan is way beyond his capabilities, so the only thing that would have happened is that these elves would probably die an agonizing death and after that he would be back to square one and die anyway." Alice thought for a bit about what Amon just said before she asked in a curious voice, "What do you mean with stole them, where are they?" This question caused a bit of a dilemma for Amon because he wasn't sure how much he should tell her. From the memories of the magus he devoured, Amon knew how much of a mystery the void to the inhabitants of reality were. Even among the few existences who knew about it, most of them could only theorize about it and wouldn't be able to enter it. Even the magus he devoured who was a peak rank 8 magi knew only a little bit about it and his attempt to enter it didn't end well for him. The magus wasn't even able to think inside the void, so naturally he couldn't resist Amon as he devoured him. So enclosing this kind towards someone he didn't even know for an hour at most wouldn't be that smart, so he thought about what to tell her instead. Amon wasn't that keen on lying to her, so instead of telling her a lie he just said "You could say I stored them without their knowledge in something similar to a spatial ring in which the time doesn't flow so when I release them from it, it would be as if they just got out of the auction house." However, hearing that, a confused expression emerged on Alice's face, and she asked "What is a spacial ring?" A bit surprised that she didn't know about spatial rings, Amon began to explain, "It's a tool some magi are using to store things away normally a spatial ring has a folded space within itself in which you can store a lot of things. I used a similar method, but you probably wouldn't understand much of it anyway, and I had to explain too much for you to even get a glimpse of it, so let's just say it's something similar to a spacial ring. The functions are more or less the same, it's just that a normal spatial ring won't stop time and living beings would not survive within one." "And what do you plan on doing with those elves ? Will you ask them to become your servant like me, or do you have other plans for them ?" Asked Alice curiously. "I am not really sure what to do with them, it depends on the state Evandel is in. In the best case scenario, I'll just drop them off somewhere I when I visit Evandel with you. But enough about me, how about you tell me a bit about yourself?" Said Amon. However, before Alice could answer, Amon gaze turned cold, and he suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked towards a building on the right side of the road they were just walking before saying towards Alice in an annoyed tone "Forget it, let's talk later right now we have some unwanted company."
