As it floated towards the planet, it inspected it with its soul senses.
The consciousness marveled at its majestic landscapes.
Towering mountains pierced the sky, valleys sprawled as far as the eye could see, and vast oceans shimmered in captivating hues.
It was a world brimming with magic, where the very fabric of reality seemed to pulsate with energy.
Surrounding the planet was a glimmering barrier shining with a splendorous light.
Every part of that majestic barrier was adored with countless magical runes, it was still a long distance away, but even from here it could feel the extraordinary power that barrier omitted.
In the memories of the magus this world was classified as a prime world together with the divine world which was the home world of the God's, the abyss the plane that housed the demons and devils, and the draconian world in which the primordial dragons resided.
So naturally the magus world was very powerful.
As it arrived before the barrier, it looked closely at all those runes.
After all the time it had to study the memories of the magus, it knew almost every single rune inscribed in that barrier.
Most of them were for defensive purposes, but some of them had the function to alarm someone if something went through.
The consciousness analyzed the rune barrier a bit more, but it had to give up soon.
The runes were too closely intertwined with each other if it tempered with one the changes were high that whoever set them up was notified, and it liked to prevent it.

The last time the magus was inside that World even though there was a barrier it wasn't adored with those runes, so he could enter without any problems after being recognized by the consciousness of the world.
Sadly it wouldn't be recognized by the world as a native.
Well it could probably tear down the barriers enter forcefully enter but it even though it knew that it was probably stronger than whoever would arrive after being alarmed by those runes it still didn't like to take the risk.
Besides it had no real experience in fighting other beings, so it would like to avoid unnecessary conflicts if possible.
So after thinking for a while it decided the easiest way to enter was to become a native of that planet and for that it had to either fuse its existence with a being of that world instead of devouring it like it did with that magus or to create a spell that would allow it to be reborn as a native of that world.
After thinking for a bit about the pros and cons of each method, it decided to just look for someone to take over.
Creating a new spell from scratch would take a long time and being reborn as a baby and having to experience being an infant for multiple years would be pretty unpleasant to go through, so it would like to avoid that so if possible.
The easiest thing for it to do would be to look for a suitable target it deemed unworthy to live, and to then forcefully fuse their souls together.
If it looked for someone with a weak soul, it should be able to easily fuse its consciousness into that soul after using the void laws to erase the previous one.
So it spread out it senses covering the whole world within seconds looking for a suitable target.
After a few minutes it found a suitable native, someone with a very weak soul but rather high standing in the society.
Then it needed some minutes to reconstruct one of the spells of the old magus knew, which allowed a fusion of two souls.
It modified it so that the spell could be cast over a long distance and wouldn't be recognized by the barrier, and added some of its insights in void laws so that the other consciousness would be erased.
Only the clean soul would remain and fuse with its own consciousness, making it essentially a native of that planet. After looking at his target for a few more days to make sure he really deserved to be erased, it cast the spell.
Thousands of glorious runes lit up next to the magus world as the spell was cast.
The MANA within thousands of miles was sucked dry to support the spell which in turn immediately alarmed the magi of that world, but when they arrived where the spell was cast there was nothing.
Right now, the consciousness was already in the process of taking over a new soul.
