(Chapter 4) First follower

About half an hour later, Sophie arrived in front of the door of Amon's chamber, while carrying a big silver tray adorned with a mouthwatering assortment of dishes fit for a prince.

With great care, Sophie knocked gently on the prince's door.

The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit room, decorated with opulent tapestries and furniture.

Prince Amon, sitting on a chair at the window while being engrossed in a book, looked up, and a warm smile formed across his face as he recognized Sophie.

"Ah, Sophie, come in," he said in a gentle voice.

While looking at the strange dishes that Sophie carried towards the big table in the corner of the room, he asked her what the chef prepared for him.

Still being embarrassed due to her earlier action, Sophie replied in a low voice "Because your Highness didn't ask for something specific the chef prepared the same thing the king ordered a few hours ago, but I'm sorry i didn't ask the cook what all these dishes are called I only know that the main dish is made out of wyvern meat.

However, if you want I can go back in the kitchen and ask him".

While making his way towards the table where Sophie prepared the plates, a mouthwatering fragrance was flowing through his chambers.

Amon didn't really care about the names of the dishes, so he just told her it's fine, and it wasn't necessary for her to go and ask the cook.

Although he was quite interested in how a would wyvern taste.

So as soon as he sat down at the lavishly decorated dining table adorned with exquisite silverware, he looked curiously at the wyvern meat.

He noticed that this meat was quite rich in Mana, so it should be pretty beneficial for the body.

With anticipation in his eyes, the prince reached for his fork and knife, as he sliced into the first piece, he marveled at its vibrant color and firmness, a testament to its freshness.

Bringing the fork to his lips, Amon experienced a symphony of flavors that danced across his palate.

The wyvern meat was surprisingly robust, what hinted at its mythical origins.

The prince savored the intricate blend of flavors, a hint of wild herbs and a mild spiciness that lingered on his tongue.

It was a taste like no other. As the prince enjoyed the wyvern meat, he couldn't help but notice Sophie, who stood nearby with a wistful expression.

Her longing gaze caught his attention so with a warm smile, he motions for her to join him at the table and said "sit down and try something this is way too much for me alone to eat alone."

Her eyes widened with surprise as she heard his words, for she had longed to taste such a rare delicacy herself as soon as that delicious smell entered her nose.

However, this meat was way too precious for a commoner like herself, and she would surely be punished if someone found out she ate something like that or even dared to sit on the same table as the crown prince.

So with a heavy heart she said "I'm only a maid I can't, if someone found out I would be punished severely for eating something that was supposed to be for your Highness".

Amon couldn't help but to chuckle at her answers before he replied in a teasing manner "And would that punishment be harsher or softer than the one you will get for ignoring my order to sit down ?"

Hearing that Sophie was speechless and didn't know how to reply, she thought about what to say before a firm and gentle voice interrupted her thoughts "Just sit down I don't want to argue with you right now, besides I think eating alone is quite boring and seeing you look at me with those pitiful eyes while I eat is quite distracting."

Hearing that, Sophie just gave in and reluctantly sat down beside the prince with a mix of excitement and humility, she accepted the prince's gesture, and started to eat together with the prince.

After tasting it a beautiful smile formed on her face, this was by far the best food she ever tasted.

While eating to her heart's content, she thought about her earlier mishap,

'those stupid servants who warned me about the prince. I can't believe a fell for that without ever meeting him personally. He isn't cruel in the slightest, well at least not to me, if he is cold to the other servants they probably deserved it. I will not fall for such stupid rumors again'.

And so on his first day in his new body with just some kind words and a tiny gesture of sharing some food unbeknownst to Amon he got his first loyal follower who will follow him through the multitude of world's.
