(Chapter 6) Meditation

(Chapter 6) Meditation

Finally, left alone, Amon decided he should dedicate some of his time before going to sleep to increase his rank as a magus.

Every magus had to begin his journey to power as an apprentice.

As such, one could use the mana inside their bodies to cast some simple spells, but everyone had a limit depending on their apidute on how much mana their body could handle at one time.

Using meditation techniques, one could increase the limit by forcefully pulling mana from the surroundings inside their body's and let the body adept to it.

This process increased the upper limit on what the body of an apprentice could handle until a certain point was reached when there would be enough mana inside one's body to compress it in one point and form a mana core.

Only after forming that core could one call himself a magus. That didn't sound that hard but becoming a magus was a very long process and not many were able to do this and even those who are able to need a very long time.

Due to that in the entire kingdom of Avalon there was only a single rank 2 magi, the king and about a hundred who reached rank 1.

Everyone else was either classified as an apprentice or as a simple mortal.

Even Amon himself was still classified as an apprentice in this body and only about 15% done with the saturation of his body.

However, considering his age of 20 years, this was already considered quite good compared to others who needed thrice as much time to reach that point.

Stolen story; please report.

Thinking about that after checking his own apidute Amon came to the conclusion that this progress properly had something to do with some high grade resources he got like that wyvern meat.

Considering his progress rate he would need about 85 years until his body reached a point when he could form a mana core and during all that time he had to meditate daily.

In his perspective, this was way too much work for something he only did to make his life more convenient, so he thought what he could to so hasten that progress.

After thinking for a while, he found a solution.

The apidute depends on how many impurities were in one's body the thing meditation does when one is still an apprentice is using mana to purge them out over a long period of time.

However did he really need to do it this way when he had complete control over the void laws ?

Couldn't he just use them to erase all impurities inside his body ?

After doing this the only thing he would need to do was absorbing enough of the sounding mana inside his body to advance which should take a few days at most.

After thinking about that and making some small test, he began.

He checked his own body with his senses, focused himself on the impurities, and soon with nothing but a thought they were gone.

Leaving him with a pretty much perfect body to contain mana.

Now all that's left would be to fill his body with mana and form his mana core.

However, as soon as he started his meditation session his calm expression changed abruptly and within a second his senses reached out towards the location of Sophie.

However, as soon as he found her and saw the situation she was in his calm expression was completely gone.

Instead for the first time ever his face showed anger and not just normal anger he was furious his eyes lost his blue luster changed into a deep black.

Without wasting a single second, his right hand became completely black, devouring every single spec of light that fell on it.

Fueled with anger, Amon extended his hand.

With a furious slash through the air, he unleashed a cataclysmic wave of void energy that ripped through the space in front of him creating a spatial crack that connected him to Sophie's location before stepping into that spatial crack, arriving next to Sophie
