Episode 35: Who I Am/Part 1

"So, how do I look? Pretty cool huh?", Anya showed off.

"Just how many things did you tell Niki to give us?", Lass asked.

"I just kept tagging her on Semori! the deeper we got into this. The outfit I'm wearing now wasn't on the list until I...you know...experienced some 'growth'. And besides, these are all pretty much mandatory needs. These phones are coming in with multiple gadgets, including hologram calls and both a private messaging network and an extremely powerful GPS and tracking system!", Anya flexed her phone.

"I can see that...I can talk to Lilith, even though she's in the forest! The signal capabilities are amazing!", Yuno kept texting.

"Of course they are...I personally ordered an exclusive satellite and communications department to be set just for us to use!"

"That's very good Anya but...don't you think you're going a bit overboard with the spending?", Lass worryingly said.

"Pfft, haha!", Anya laughed. "Imagine telling the daughter of the guy who basically owns the world's capital that there's a spending limit! I've long set up my own empire next to Dad's big guy. It just took a little bit of 'possession manipulating' that I thankfully had as a head start. I rightfully own every penny spend and I can't even spend it before making ten more!"

"Is she flexing on us right now or what?", Yuno said.

"No, I'm just further elaborating on my achievements. Something you probably never had.", Anya bagged Yuno

"I'm currently on a diplomatic mission to save the world. How's that for an achievement?", Yuno answered back.

"Wondering how you ended up here in the first place..."

"Hey, if this guy dies, I die too.", Yuno pointed at Lass. "And besides third parties from multiple areas are nice for negotiating."

"Exactly, but you feel more like a fourth or fifth party.", Anya nagged Yuno some more.

"Said the daughter of the richest guy in the world. You're a first party if anything, so I doubt we have a non-biased party going with you."

"Who paid for the phone you're texting your girlfriend with again? I should probably also send her about your perverted escapees...", Anya smugged.

"She is not my girlfriend!", Yuno blushed. "And if you ever text Lilith a single thing, I swear!"

"Will you two cut it already?!", Lass presented them with the door. "Just shut up and come in...Risa should be in here apparently...according to Terna's post anyway. And where is she, a kid's bedroom?"

Not before long after crossing the door, everyone met up with an arm-folded Tiki and a smiling Hikari.

"Hey, Lass. Did you recover?"

"Uh...yeah. Something wrong?"

"No I'm just a little...exhausted.", Hikari sighed.

"And what about you? Wait...is that a-", Lass looked at Tiki.

"What? This? I've had worse.", Tiki shrugged off her broken arm.

"I need someone to tell me exactly what went down...and what exactly is this place?", Lass looked around.

"It's the Falana Orphanage. Rather...what remains of it.", Hikari said.

"You know this place?", Yuno looked at the top floor.

"I do. Well, I did once. It's been a really, really long time since I've come across it.", Hikari said.

"Well, in that case, since we're all back together, shall we get going? Gardard shouldn't be that far away anyway.", Lass said.

"Actually big guy...can we prolong it for the day? After everything that happened, for me at least, I'd like some time to recover. I don't like watching from the sidelines while everyone kicks ass in front of me." Tiki swiftly said.

"This time, I guess we should, Lass. It's way too dangerous to move forward with such injuries...", Yuno said.

Lass sighed. "Look, I know we should, but I doubt a broken arm can be healed overnight. Shouldn't we go to Gardard for actual, professional treatment?"

"I can't be healed instantly, but I can heal rapidly. By tomorrow I should be able to do basic movements with it, maybe fight if I stretch it. However, I should expect some lingering aftermath, it was broken real good out there...", Tiki said.

"By who, may I ask?", Lass said.

Before anyone could speak, Luna started descending the stairs towards them.

"I have finished my maintenance."

"By her.", Tiki pointed at Luna with her thumb. "But we made up for it, so it's kind of cool."

"I can further treat your injuries tonight if needed. My proficiency is not high, but it should suffice for such a basic injury.", Luna looked at Tiki's arm.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

"I'll take you up on that. Not before we settle for the night, however."

"Who are you, by the way?", Yuno asked.

"Luna Falana. I have heard most of everything about you from...Ikarisa here, so further introductions are redundant. Do note that upstairs lies my little sister Lina with your idol friend Terna. I have called them down to attend the meeting, however.", Luna looked up at Lina's room.

"Is she...alright, by chance?", Anya asked.

"Hmm? The idol?"

"Yeah."

"I heard a subtle humming and singing from my sister's bedroom. I would most likely correlate that to a healthy mental state.", Luna reassured Tiki.

"Not all singing is joyful, Luna. Sorry, she's always had a little bit of an issue understanding others...", Hikari said.

"You don't say. Do you sound somewhat like...a machine? Like an AI of sorts?", Yuno looked at Luna.

"I have been partially augmented. My main functionalities were only enchanted without removing aspects of living integrity."

Hikari's eyes lit up with a scared look, as she gazed back at Luna...

"W-Wait...don't tell me...", Hikari thought.

"I...don't think the second part is that accurate...", Lass scratched his head. "Risa, you definitely have some weird friends in the back scenes, despite them being few. But honestly, she's kinda interesting."

Hikari snapped out of it. "I-I uh. Yeah...I do."

"So we're settled for an overnight stay then?", Yuno asked.

"Most likely, yes. No way I can force a rush on us anymore, we've done this how many times now?", Lass asked.

"More than what would be acceptable under normal standards.", Anya said.

"Which one in this group looks normal to you? A demon with a broken arm, a Wolven kemonomimi turned into a furry, some sort of ex-pervert floating dragon thing, a normie meat bag and an 'almighty, world creating goddess'. Chances are, your digital assistant 'Sairi' here will most likely come along with us, listening via voice commands whenever we call her name.", Tiki said with a straight face.

"Uh...she has a point.", Yuno said.

"We know.", everyone said back to Yuno and Tiki.

"Fine, I get it. I'll try to clear some of the ruins over here. Probably can find a room or two that are in decent shape for a one-night hosting.", Lass said.

"As far as everything goes, I've got us covered. Compared to the little to no preparations we had earlier, this time I've got everything under the sun plugged into that car. Snacks for tonight and additional guns, some bombs, first aid etc.", Anya said. "I'm gonna go fetch it."

"Wait, that thing has bombs in it?!", Tiki yelled.

"Yeah, but it's not rigged with it."

"Ok so, what happens if those bombs in the car are met with a strong collision?", Tiki angrily said.

Anya looked at Tiki with a gloomy face. "I'll be right back!", she started running across the hallway.

"Wait, furry! Do you even know how to defuse that?!", Tiki yelled.

"I'll look it up on Omni! See y'all in a bit!", Anya kept running.

"She said what about what now?", Lass worryingly said.

"I'm sure she will be fine...hopefully.", Yuno said.

"You know, last time I went along with her, I came back bleeding red. I'm not even gonna try this time...", Lass said with a straight face.

"Uh...I don't really wanna...you know. Willingly walk into a bunch of bombs...", Yuno said.

"Tiki.", Lass looked at Tiki.

"What? Oh, hell no! Just today I realized that furry plus car equals for some nasty shit.", Tiki looked at her arm. "Oh yeah...you're also asking a cripple to go disable bombs. Asshole."

"I could try to eliminate all high explosives by removing them to a safe distance.", Luna suggested.

"Are you serious...", Lass facepalmed. "Risa already had it rough anyway and there's no way in hell we're taking on that much of an aggressive strategy. Come on guys...maybe Terna knows how to defuse bombs?"

"Are you deadass?", Tiki tried to fold her arms.

"Oh for the love of...", Lass started dragging himself towards Anya. "I know what's gonna happen. I know it very well..."

Lass slowly and disappointingly made his way towards Anya, having the thought of being exploded at the back of his head.

"Alright, that's one down...", Tiki whispered. "Yo, pervert.", she looked at Yuno.

"You know, it was just favorable scenarios, right? I mean, who wouldn't daydream when scenario's like that showed up?", Yuno corrected Tiki.

"Bet."

"I'm serious! God..."

"Ok, whatever, listen here. Since your goody two-shoe knights friend is out defusing bombs, how about you help move this pile o' rocks out of the way?"

"Why don't you do it?!", Yuno yelled.

"Crippled.", Tiki showed her arm.

"Seriously? I saw you lifting an entire group of enemies with one hand!"

"I did it with my left one.", Tiki began to look up her phone.

"You're right-handed! All your swings with your axe are done with your right hand!"

"'And you won't even believe that he tried to take advantage of the situation when Anya slept on him to touch her-'", Tiki typed with one hand.

"Wait-what are you doing?", Yuno tried to look at Tiki's phone.

"Nothing, just using my right hand to type down a long message to Lilith who I found on your follower's list~", Tiki smugged.

"What the hell?! Give it back!", Yuno tried to get the phone back.

Tiki put her phone away and grabbed Yuno. "Nah-ah. Work first, then I'll delete the message."

"Do they usually...fight like this?", Luna whispered to Hikari.

Hikari sighed and folded her arms, looking at both Yuno and Tiki with exhausted expressions. "You'll...get used to it. Honestly, I can see where Tiki is going with this, but her plan is, again, messing with others..."

"Fine, fine! God...just...don't send that message. Please...", Yuno said.

"Fine by me, so long you keep your part. Mister 'guardian'", Tiki chuckled.

Muffling many words that I will not go into detail about, Yuno faced the giant line of massive boulders on the left hall and began taking them down one by one, carefully, to retain the stability of the building while also releasing the entrances to other rooms.

"And that's that...now, where were we? Oh yeah. Time to start spitting truths.", Tiki looked at Hikari.

Hikari nodded. "I saw through what you tried to do already...can you...meet me up at the main office? And if possible, can you fetch Anya as well?"

"I will go ahead and get her.", Luna said.

"Alright, so I guess Tiki and I will be waiting.", Hikari started going up the stairs.

As Luna went outside to the flower field to get Anya's attention, Tiki followed Ikarisa up the stairs into another main hall. Meanwhile outside...

Anya stood in front of Lass. "So uh...I think for the IDS model it's the...blue?", she looked inside Omni.

"Yep, that's right master!", Omni happily said.

"You sure for blue?", Lass sat down, trying to disarm the bomb.

"According to Omni, yes.", Anya kept looking.

"Exactly master! Though there's never been anyone trying disarm it, it's right in the manual!", Omni happily said.

"Wait, no one has ever done this before?", Lass asked.

"Nope! But do not be alarmed! Your chances of success are 90%!"

"Wait, what?!", Lass yelled.

"Yeap! Seeing as no one experimented on diffusing this model before, there's some chance that an error of a living being can cause a failed disarmament!", Omni kept happily saying.

"What?!", Lass and Anya yelled.

Without realizing it, Lass's hand moved a little on its own and accidentally put more force onto the wire clippers, cutting the blue cord in half. The bomb began an ominous flashing sequence.

"Damn it! I don't like this, not one bit!", Lass held on to the bomb.

"That's the detonation sequence, the instructions were true, mistaken! You're quite lucky to hit the unlucky 10% master!"

"Eh-ah, what do we do?!", Anya looked at the bomb in despair.

The bomb flashing sequence started to become faster and faster as the two were stunned out of fear, gazing at the lights.
