CHAPTER 236

Moyo felt the planet crack beneath him as both his and Malgrakor’s attacks clashed in a vortex of power, the core of the planet, close to imploding, shuddered, coming apart before he intervened, the prime aspect of which he knew so little of, coming to hold it and just barely at the seams. Grunting from the strength it took, he watched his allies below add their strength to his endeavour, Ingvar who had been muttering quietly suddenly exploding with power, the cracks of the planet halting before freezing up and coming together again.

Ashira was at his side, eyes blazing and bow in hand, her body glowing with barely constrained power as she activated her skills,

* Chimeric Mastery(M): Ashira's connection to the essence of the chimera grants her unparalleled mastery over its traits. She gains the ability to channel the strength of multiple beasts, enhancing her physical attributes, agility, and senses to superhuman levels.

* Beastial Resilience (R): Ashira's connection to the chimera enhances her durability. She gains heightened resistance to physical and magical attacks, allowing her to withstand powerful blows and shrug off debilitating effects.

Due to the legendary rank of her path, she had been bestowed one mythical skill, something few rulers and even ancients could boast off, no doubt, influenced by her primordial parents. Her body echoed with the strength of a thousand arcane beasts, Beastial resilience enforcing her endurance on reality itself as she drew the strings of her bow backwards, bending her willpower and authority into the arrow that manifested on it, this time, activating another skill again,

* Chimera's Mark(R): With a single strike, Ashira can mark her enemies with the symbol of the chimera. This mark grants her enhanced accuracy and critical hit chances against the marked targets, ensuring her attacks find their mark with deadly precision.

A beacon shone on Malgrakor who reformed, this time with less of a mass, eyes burning with malevolence only to get a punch to the skull by Thorian, the ancient now encased in a suit of diamond with traces of mithril enforcing it, his features hidden within a smooth slab of diamond shaped like a head gear. Runes of enforcement and strength glowing all over his body. Malgrakor’s body rocked backwards, his head twisting in an unnatural angle as Raye appeared, one feather in hand shaped like a curved blade only to slam into the chest of the apocalypse beast, flaming phoenix wings burning brightly behind her,

“IMMOLATION!” she commanded, diving down to avoid the touch of the creature whose humanoid features warped more and more,

Malgrakor exploded in a torrent of golden and red flames, the fires burning not just on a physical level but on an existential level, still, the creature moved, its very steps now echoing impossibly in the silence of space, the planet reforming below thanks to the efforts of the jade elder. It activated another of its skills again,

* Eternal Absorption: Malgrakor’s evolved form possesses an enhanced version of its previous skill, *Abyssal Replication*. In addition to spawning Abyssal Echoes, it now has the ability to absorb the life essences of ascenders it defeats. This unholy absorption fuels its own power, granting it increased strength, resilience, and arcane prowess.

What little life essence remained of the ascenders that had died within its first few seconds of initially manifesting began to fuel its body again, same as the planet it had tied itself to, except this time, something was wrong, its skin began to blister as it screamed in agony, Moyo smiling. It had absorbed what little remained of the prime aspect still flowing around the planet, something that was undeniably anthemic to its very existence. It wasn’t enough to kill it, but it had done irreparable damage, enough for the others to act swiftly, and act they did. Ashira launched not one but two arrows filled with potent venom and her aspect, enough to no doubt bring down multiple ancients if he went by what he was feeling from the attack.

Activating another archery skill she had gotten from her battles, it added devastating damage to her attacks,

* Arcane Archery (R): Ashira's skill with the bow transcends mortal limitations. She can imbue her arrows with elemental forces, unleashing devastating arcane projectiles that pierce through defenses and unleash havoc upon her foes.

Malgrakor grunted as its blade Soulrender reformed in its hand, attempting to swing it only for Gegun to clash with the blade in a fiery storm, Moyo, pitting his entire strength into it, Ashe burning bright as he burned brighter, eyes glowing golden and purple. Malgrakor roared in his face, pitting his entire existence on Moyo, showing him visions of terrible horrors within the abyss, creatures to drive even a ruler mad with terror and despair. Moyo shuddered but held on, his Ashe was as solid as a mountain and his willpower as hard as steel, it would take more than that to drive him to the edges of insanity like Malgrakor wanted.

Ingvar was suddenly there, a spear in hand, burning with arcane jade runes and blistering with pure aetheric power. Malgrakor attempted to free itself of the clash with the titan blade, Moyo however, had a better idea,

“HOLD” he commanded, Ashe blistering across his every word,

Malgrakor was frozen in his tracks even as a lance of pain tore through Moyo’s skull, the effort it took to hold down a creature of such heavy existence bearing down on him. Ashira was at his side, mouth open as a savage skill was activated,

* Chimera's Roar (R): Ashira harnesses the power of the chimera within her, unleashing a resounding roar that shakes the very foundations of reality. This ability disorients and weakens her enemies, granting her a temporary advantage in battle.

Malgrakor vibrated with the attack, its focus weakening, allowing the titan to push his Ashe down on the creature, Ingvar’s spear tore through the body of the apocalypse beast from the top, spearing down through his skull into its body before freezing right before what Moyo realized was its core, some abyssal force shielding it,

“Josh!, Annika!” he roared,

The Warhammer of the Shieldborne's Valoris came crashing down with a roar, his body burning with everything he had, lightning and thunder crackling in his wake as the elemental power of the Stormseeker fused with the hammer. If the spear was the nail, then the hammer was the driving force of unending fury that tore its way straight into the core, driving the hammer deep within. Malgrakor gave a great roar that shook reality,

Or he would had, had Altair not appeared with a grey rusted blade, slicing into the exact position where Malgrakor was as all sounds were cut off from reality, effectively cutting off what was no doubt a devastating attack. Thorian then crushed the planet with a single blow, even as Killian and Duval, both masters ensured nothing remained of the planet, their abilities cutting off the only ties the beast had with existence itself. And then Raye was there, flames of the phoenix burning away what little corruption remained of the creature, leaving space desolate. Moyo let go of the prime aspect, feeling the tension and exhaustion permeate his body as he sent his blades back into his deific vault. Watching as the forces of the archailect began to descend, a robed figure in the red and gold of the draconic brigade floating towards them,

“Master Moyosore titan blade” he started,

Moyo eyed the figure, assessing his rank and realizing he was a ruler, just with the added power of the path of the sun-burner, he snorted silently, turning to Idris,

“You disobeyed- “he said, cut off by the blade Idris wielded pointed at him,

“Lord titan blade” Idris said,

“What?” the brigade officer sputtered,

“you’re addressing the patriarch of house titan blade, lord of Ibere, soon to be primordial, I will not repeat myself again” Idris said calmly,

The brigade officer burned bright with his power,

“a mere emissary of a master dares bares his toothless fangs at me?” he roared,

A hand dropped on his shoulder, squeezing tight as reinforced bones thrice bathed in aetheric flames of ascension cracked. The brigade officer turned to stare into the diamond-colored eyes of Thorian diamond king, his face going pale,

“Lord diamond king” he winced, trying to downplay the pain he felt,

Thorian tsked, shaking his head lightly,

“scram” he said softly,

A pathway opened up and the brigade ruler literally shot through, back to the safety of his fellow brethren, Thorian turning back to them with a smile only to get a kiss on the cheek from Raye, Moyo shuddering at the look of pure sexual tension she was giving him. Ashira released her skills, her chimeric tail swishing softly as she stared into his eyes,

“Are you alright?” she asked softly,

He snorted,

“It would take more than that to bring me down” he said, wincing at the pain flowing all over his body,

She stared at him with a deadpanned face,

“Lord Valoris” she called out, Josh appearing with a flourish, bowing lightly,

Moyo raised one eyebrow at that,

“My lady” he replied,

“Oh, it’s my lady, isn’t it?” he asked lightly,

Josh glanced at him,

“Orders of lady Martha, I could tell her you detest such a term” he replied,

Moyo glanced in alarm at the commander of his Shieldborne, Annika stifling a smile while Idris pretended to talk with masters Killian and Duval who were no doubt interested in what was going on,

“Do you detest it, Moyo?” Ashira asked softly again, this time, a tone of promised vengeance in her voice,

Moyo shook his head dumbly, not trusting his mouth to not put him in trouble again, she nodded, kissing his lips lightly,

“that’s what I thought as well” she replied, watching as wardens descended from her vessel, the Chimera, bowing to her,

She touched his face fondly for a second before rising to meet them as they conversed quietly, Altair floating up to his side,

“Looks like things are getting serious between you and the child of Kairos” he said,

“You know, when people say that, I never quite know who they’re referring to, Kairos himself or her mother” Moyo replied,

Altair gave a light smile,

“it’s most definitely her mother, believe it or not, people fear the great maw herself than the king of monsters” the Thousandblades replied,

Ingvar floated to him, cradling the burnt-out spear that smouldered, its runes faded, leaving only hot metal in the hands of the jade elder,

“Titan blade!” Ingvar’s voice called out, booming as Moyo winded,

“Jade elder Ingvar” he said in greeting,

Ingvar waved the pleasantries away,

“None of that now, you fought as befitting an ancient and more, perhaps it is true you are rising to the rank of a primordial and as a master at that” he replied,

Moyo inclined his head softly, aware of Josh at his side, eyes roaming around despite the fact that every one around the titan could potentially end him with a flick of their finger,

“It is as the archailect wills it” he said,

“Quite the humble one I see, nevertheless, you are an enigma unlike any I have ever met, something my grandchild, Bjorn lacks” Ingvar said,

“I thank you, you honor me greatly” Moyo responded,

“No, you do me the honor of fighting beside you, and you gave me a reason to use the spear of runic workings forged by lord Lucirion himself as a gift to our clan, though it is now useless, nothing but piece of slag mithril” he said, eyes glinting in pride,

“I apologize for that, perhaps there is anything I can do to recompense you for it?” Moyo asked,

“a weapon should be made and die in battle!, it has served its use, it will be given to the newborns of our clan to train with” Ingvar said,

Moyo nodded softly, Ingvar speaking again,

“You have proven yourself in I and my clan’s eyes, how would you like to have one of our daughters as your second bride?” Ingvar asked,

Moyo felt cold breathing down his back, Altair staring slack jawed in shock, Raye slapping her face in exasperation and Thorian roaring out in laughter, Annika froze, eyes wide,

“I thank you elder Ingvar, but I do not believe I am- “

“You are titan blade!, you are!’ Ingvar said, cutting him off as Moyo shook his head softly, pleading silently with the grim rune to cease his boisterous words,

“We of the grim clan are very fertile, your bloodline would be preserved with us- “

“And what about I, would his bloodline not be safe with me?” a soft voice dripping with barely restrained power behind it,

Moyo felt his titanic body unconsciously slide into place, swallowing nervously,

Ashira Chimera Kairos floated behind Moyo, hands wrapped around him possessively as she squeezed a little, baleful chimeric eyes staring down Ingvar who paused mid speech, suddenly realizing what was happening,

“Nothing of such, lady Ashira” he protested weakly,

“Then why do you seem to think he would need another bride?, hmm?” she asked,

“I mean” she continued, cutting off the jade elder,

“You fail to realize there are lots of other suitable options for him, the Stormseeker for example, would do well for him as a second bride” she said,

“Not interested” Annika blurted out, blushing as she noticed all eyes turning to her for a brief second,

Moyo took a deep breath, grabbing her hands as he spoke,

“I thank you for your offer elder Ingvar, but as of this moment, I’m simply in a committed relationship” he replied,

“I apologize if I have fallen short of your expectations, if there’s any way I can make it up to the jade clan of the grim rune, please, let me know” he said,

Ingvar shook his head,

“It is I who have wronged you, on behalf of clan grim rune, I wish to apologize, should you ever need our help, we would answer the call” the jade elder replied,

“That day might come sooner than later” Moyo replied,

“And it would be my greatest honour to fight beside you once again in battle” Ingvar replied,

Moyo nodded, and watched as Ingvar paused, staring at the slag of mithril in his hand,

“You know” he started,

“This weapon was given to our clan by the aether blessed as a symbol of our position, clan grim rune for countless centuries has always acted as the protector of the ways of the jade clans, we acted as something of a guardian to the aether blessed himself” he continued,

“Something that young master over there has been trying to prove himself to you as” he said, turning to Josh who was caught off guard,

“Lord Idris is the champion of lord titan blade, I am merely the shield, he is the spear” Josh replied,

“I see, so you prefer the hammer to the spear?” he asked,

“What better way to crush the enemies of the titan than with blunt force?” Josh replied,

Ingvar gave a light chuckle,

“I agree, so what say you, champion of the titan?, a term I haven’t heard in a long long time” Ingvar asked Idris,

The Geb hand stared at the molten slag of a spear in the hand of the jade elder, and then at the sword in his, he turned to Moyo, the titan blade nodding imperceptibly. Simply because Gaius, the last champion had used a blade didn’t mean Idris needed too, besides, Moyo was beginning to see the rough outline of a plan forming in his mind, something he wanted to test out in his forge. Idris nodded,

“It would be my honor to reforge that spear into something greater, to wield in service of my lord” he replied,

Ingvar nodded and tossed the weapon to Idris who caught it, gripping it tightly, Moyo opened his vault, gripping something and tossing it to the jade elder, the green gladius looking weapon stinking with the power of mutation. Ingvar caught it, the blade’s runes flaring as it came in contact with the blistering power of the jade,

“One of the last vestiges of the aspect of Molrik, something of a prize to be displayed, let it be known that the jades had a hand in the death of a lord of the abyss” he said,

Ingvar stared at the blade,

“Aye, except it was that annoying brat of a whelp Mardar who fought alongside you and wouldn’t stop pushing it in our faces” Ingvar grunted, Moyo chuckling,

“Still, I thank you for this priceless gift, no doubt, it would be forged into something powerful enough to strike terror into the heart of the rest of the abyssal forces” Ingvar replied, a gleam in his gaze,

Moyo nodded as the jade gave his farewells, vanishing through a pathway, hundreds of smaller ships passing through the dying battles above to settle around them. Moyo saw the insignia of his legion cohorts settle, ascenders of gold and diamond rank setting up a makeshift barricade of ships around him as he floated in space, Altair turning from where he had been discussing with Killian and Duval,

“There is a rumor circulating, I and my sons would hope you could clarify it, if you wish” the Thousandblades asked,

Moyo’s mood darkened a bit,

“About Ajax, isn’t it?” he asked softly,

Killian nodded,

“Is it true?, has he released the grim?” Duval asked,

“Most probably, but that is the least of our worries if I’m right” Moyo replied,

“What else could be worse than that?, except the current war with the abyss?” Altair asked,

“Ajax has made a deal with something worse, something I’m not a liberty to speak with you about, despite my fervent wish to” Moyo replied, a pained look in his eyes,

“that explains the absence of Xerxes and the other harbingers as well” Altair said to himself,

“If the situation is as critical as you speak off, then I fear for the state of this war, our forces cannot be divided” Killian said,

“We shall know more soon enough, but for now, we are being called, the primordials have taken the war to the next planet, they face the combined might of the powers of all the lords of the abyss, old horros have been released unto the planet, the reach of the abyss itself has spread” Altair said,

“Then we best be on our way” Moyo replied,

The Defiance opened its belly to receive Moyo and his forces, Ashira following along as he sent her a private message, within his chambers, she sat next to him,

“what’s so urgent, apart from what happened with Ajax, how are you holding up?” she asked, staring at him,

Moyo waved it away, rubbing his eyes as weariness permeated his bones, reclining on his chair with a flourish, he opened his vault while sending a notification that appeared through his Hud,

“What?” she asked, confusion in her gaze.
