Chapter 4, Shattering 101.
----------------------------------------
ROAR!~
Praegressus boomed, it's strange neck vibrating crazily. The massive creature's maw opened, it's rows of razor sharp teeth displayed to the world as it rammed into an office building before it.
It screeched in pain as the building tumbled over, its right hand clawing at its face, trying to rip the pain away.
SCREECH!~
A high pitched blare erupted from it, it's mouth closing for a moment.
Faceless watched on in interest, and Everett just stared with his jaw agape.
The creature opened it's mouth again after a few seconds, a long slimy tongue falling from it. The tongue was quickly reeled back in, a strange clicking sound sounding throughout their immediate surroundings.
"Incredible!" Faceless murmured.
Praegressus' bulging eyes slowly gained more sentience, and their shape slightly changed as it maneuvered over the collapsed building.
"It clearly wasn't satisfied with just sight alone, so it developed echolocation alongside it..." The lengthy tail that followed behind the creature flew into the air, swiping straight through Faceless coincidentally.
"That is just a testament to the ability of Concepts... To be able to evolve whatever you want nearly instantly is wondrous!" Faceless turned around, slowly floating back towards where the two had come from.
"We need to get a move on! As of now you still have nothing besides a reconnaissance ability..."
Everett couldn't help but scratch the back of his head.
"Isn't what I have already amazing?..." He questioned, following behind his new mentor.
"By your standards yes! By our standards... you're worse than an ant with no antennae and crippled legs." Faceless said, strangely serious for the first time.
"You truly aren't aware so I can't blame you... But if you don't get decently strong fast, you will be left behind as apocalyptic dust!" It said, as eerily happy as normal.
"You'll need basic abilities to survive even your first night in this new world Mister E! Don't overestimate yourself! You're more fragile than a brittle bone!"
"We can predict the trajectory of the world, and it's safe to say as it is right now... you wont even last until sunset." Faceless finished, immediately picking up speed and starting to fly away.
"Not even tonight?" Everett thought, kicking off the air and trailing behind.
He had made the assumption that as long as Praegressus continued to travel in the other direction, he would be fine. Yet he was predicted to die before even nightfall?
The two continued to fly back towards Everett's apartment, Everett himself soaking up the view as he continued to test his soul intuition.
It was hard to adjust to being able to just... understanding things on a whim. It was like if he squinted at his target, and truly wished to understand, then he would understand some key detail about it.
"2012 Honda..." He muttered with a smile, gliding over a crushed car.

"Get used to it!" Faceless said, coming to an abrupt stop. They had already arrived back at Everett's apartment, and it was clear that Faceless was waiting for him to return to his body.
He followed it's unspoken advice, flying straight at the window and colliding with the unconscious body that had fallen onto the floor.
He felt an intense sensation of vertigo before it subsided.
"You have returned!" Faceless exclaimed, making the delirious Everett groan.
"Now we truly have to get a move on! I assume you wouldn't want that girl to die, would you?" Hearing those words, Everett shot straight up, sitting on the floor with wide eyes.
"Reese?" His hands twitched, his eyes moving towards Faceless who simply stood next to his bed as creepy as ever.
"Yeah! That's her name isn't it..." It said, Everett stumbling to his feet as he followed the ghost towards his door.
"There's only one thing that us banished Rule Weavers can truly do, Mister E! Our soul intuition is indeed incredibly potent!"
...
...
...
The two travelled down the street, Everett having to actively make his way around rubble.
"I think it's about time for your first lesson from me!" Faceless spoke, continuously floating over everything below.
Everett's ears perked up, his eyes ever so carefully avoiding the strange looks from those standing frightened in the comforts of their home.
"Let's call this one... Shattering 101!" Everett stepped on a can, making him jump.
"So let's start with the basics... Universes are living beings!" Faceless said, making Everett falter.
"In fact, everything is living! But, back on track... Universes are living, they are very powerful lifeforms that have a fully known life plan." Faceless started, waving his hands in the air per usual.
"They start as small singularities, expanding out of nowhere and spewing out matter and all the good stuff! Then, the little kiddy universes start forming laws and rules that they would like their realm to abide by."
"And all this is instinctual?" Everett cut in.
"Well duh?... Try not to interrupt yeah?"
"O-"
"Anyways! The singularities take usually only a few months Earth time to set these rules in stone, and must I say... they are truly set!" Faceless chuckled.
"Once the rules are put in place, they can never be edited again, nor can they be added to, or revoked. All the rules work in tandem to keep the universe stable! So as you can imagine, if even a single rule is broken, the universe quite literally, falls apart! The singularity will put all of it's focus into repairing the stability of it's home, and will not be able to focus on anything else."
"The whole chain of rules will be weakened, allowing for more freedom within the cosmos! The Others will take their chance, and infiltrate the shattered universe.... Hmm, should I get into them? It might be helpful to know... but, ahhh, no matter!" Faceless ran off course, turning back to the silent Everett.
"There are multiple groups out there in the dark unknown that aim to conquer every universe! The Gods, and the Demons, are the most prominent of the two! Though, I'd have to say the Nokari are the strongest... Ah, they are a hivemind... a disease that is incurable! They live within pathogens, parasitic cells... Nearly unstoppable! Though they rarely try to conquer new universes..." Everett shivered in response.
"But the point is, within the next few days, both the Gods and the Demons will make their advance on this universe! The Demons will spawn gateways to their home worlds, letting monsters overrun every corner of this realm! The Gods will try to build their control within this place by increasing its instability... Since the rule of evolution was broken, they will use that to their advantage, forcefully evolving lifeforms!"
"Then they will quickly eat away at other rules! The rule of death they will forcefully grab souls upon the killing of their body, implanting them in another! That in turns makes the universe focus on erasing these anomalies, forcefully eliminating those living new lives..."
"The point of me telling you this, is so that you know a little bit about of what will be happening soon! A large portion of the humans in your world will evolve, and right now, I'm going to guarantee your evolution!" Faceless spoke, stopping in place.
"Do you see that right there?" It pointed, Everett glancing towards a car that seemed to be melted through.
"Go to it." Everett twitched, glancing at the featureless man.
It's commanding voice was truly intimidating.
"Okay..." Everett responded, making his way to the car.
His eyes peered inside, looking at the burnt floor, staring at the puddle of red liquid.
"What is this?" He asked aiming to turn his head back towards Faceless.
Of course, he wouldn't be able to.
"It's a highly-energized puddle of blood! Filled to the brim with Kreus!" Faceless' voice was deep and boundless. Accompanying it was an undeniable pressure on the back of Everett's head, forcing his face directly into the pool.
"Drink it! You really wont regret it, I promise Mister E!"
