Intermission: Lord of Death (Dwarf King POV)
The army of goblins is much more threatening now that they’re in front of the capital.
Just like when the Undead Army of old went by, I froze with fear for a moment, but I quickly regained my composure.
I ordered my men to make the first move by attacking them with cannons and ballistae.
But they deflected it with a barrier!?
When did the goblin mages become that useful? Before, they could only cast weak
This is getting complicated. I did not expect the goblins to reflect our best defenses.
As I tried to think of another way to win this battle, the sky went red.
I thought it was already sunset, but it was not. It was just morning. Why is the sun already setting?
When I looked, I could not believe my eyes.
The inside of the barrier for the goblins.
Explosions filled it. It was hell.

It was the exact same spell that destroyed our ancestral home. Back when the dwarves were plentiful.
The abominable
I can’t believe it; only one-fourth of the goblin army was left.
It might be a smaller version of the spell, but to be able to do that.
That undead creature has to be a monster.
I ordered my ground army to attack using the confusion that the explosions had caused.
Just as when I was trying to wrap my head around things,.
The reported Behemoth was now fighting the undead leader, as said by my scouts. And he even had an undead behemoth of his own!
The last straw would be that my scouts reported that a descendant of the Ice Queen might be part of their group.
They saw an ice spear spell that could only be read in legends since the Ice Queen lived thousands of years ago.
Who are these people?
By the way, the goblins are also weird. They were still fighting and did not seem to be scared at all. It was like they were intent on dying here at this battle or following their orders—nno morale dropped for them even when we took down their fat goblin king. Even the king did not appear aware of what was transpiring.
All in all, it was a victory. We only had injuries, and no casualties were reported.
Now it's time to meet our savior.
Is he a direct descendant of the Skeleton King? A general?
Or maybe even a duke or second-in-command.
While waiting for them to arrive, I felt an indescribable chill. It was like death itself had come into our lives.
I looked up. Shadow was covering our army.
A bone behemoth! And on top of it, the leader of their army. Idmon!
He jumped down, carrying his spear and shield.
Crashing down and causing shockwaves.
A banshee followed him, causing a chilling aura to everyone around. He was covered in unnatural energies, like a robe of death.
Then he talked to me using
Idmon: “Nice to meet you, Dwarven King.”
I was mistaken.
This guy is the Lord of Death.
I had my servants kneel, and I made a short bow.
Dwarf King Wargh: “The pleasure is ours, Lord Idmon.”
