Chapter 58: Orclands (Part 6)
(Orcs POV)
The warlords of the four great clans are present now in this meeting.
The Warchief will propose an alliance that has never happened before in the history of the Orc Race. A unified army.
Arku Warlord: "We will never bow down to you, Warchief."
He was the warlord of the Orcish Clan of Arku. Arku is made up of orc archers, mages, and light orc warriors who are great scouts and ambushers.
Their clan is the most despised since the behavior of ambushing and hiding is not very popular among the rest of the orc clans.
Yeknom, the Savage Orc, was part of this clan.
Warchief: "I see. Can I ask what the reason is?"
Arku Warlord: "We can handle this; we always did. Even when your mighty armies marched at our doorstep, we found ways to push you back and keep our clan alive. We will do the same to these humans."
Kran Warlord: "Even though I will never honor their ways, I agree with the Warlord of Arku," said the Warlord of Kran.
Clan Kran has the largest number of orc warriors and never trains any orc archers or mages. A true orc, most would say.
The remaining two warlords were silent, indicating that they didn't have any complaints about the proposal of the warchief.
It was Clan Krodog and Berk. Krodog was a mage clan, and Berk was a Berserker clan.
Warchief: "Do you not see the disaster that is coming!? The Fortress of Rog has fallen! The Orc race will be extinct if we do not take a stand now."
Arku Warlord: "I am leaving."
Clan Arku's warlord is walking out. Kran's Warlord is following.
Warchief: "Warlord of Kran!"
Kran Warlord: "What do you want? We will not take part in this."
Warchief: "I challenge you to a duel! If you beat me, the title of warchief is yours."
Kran Warlord: "If I lose?"
Warchief: "I will take control of your entire clan."
The title of warchief gives you the right to control the biggest and strongest army in the Orclands. "The Horde."
It's an army full of elite warriors and mages that has been hardened by generations of battles.
Kran Warlord: "I accept!"
They moved to the dueling grounds. The other warlords and their bodyguards are the audience.
Kran is one of the bigger orcs in Orclands. He was a giant in their clan, and that is the reason why he is the warlord.
The Warchief is an average-sized orc but is known to be the best commander and leader in the Orclands.
His fighting prowess is rarely seen since he is always commanding armies from afar.
Kran Warlord: "You think you can beat me, Warchief? You can back out now so you can avoid a beating."
Warchief: "You always were a talkative orc."
Kran Warlord: "Hm. Yaghhh!!!"
The warlord started the duel by sending a straight punch at the warchief.
He dodged it easily since it was a huge swing.
Warchief: "You underestimate me too much."
After dodging, he sends a quick counterattack and hits the Warlord in the side.
Kran Warlord: "Ughhh!!!"
The Warchief followed it up with a barrage of blows that made the Warlord of Kran groggy.
Kran Warlord: "Hahh... hah..."
Warchief: "You give up now?"
Kran Warlord: "Hell no!"
It was not allowed to use skills in a duel, but the warlord was already charging at the warchief before the guards could close in.
Kran Warlord: "It's over! Hahahaha!"
Warchief: "Pathetic."
He stood his ground and took a direct hit in the face. The Warlord's punch was empowered, and it was stronger than a troll swinging his club.
However, the warchief has a special ability. It's a passive skill that helped him survive all the attempts on his life and battles that happened on the battlefield.
While standing still and concentrating, the owner of this skill will take 90 percent less damage from any attack.
Of course, the Warchief can take the 10 percent left in the Warlords attack.
The force of the punch sends shockwaves to the audience. However, the warchief did not even flinch.
Warchief: "Get out of here, you coward."

The warchief smashed his confused face in with a straight punch. The guards took him to the warchief's dungeon.
Now Clan Kran, Krodog, and Berk are under the warchief's command.
Warchief: "Let's just hope that Clan Arku changes their mind before they get wiped out."

(Paladins POV)
Hero: Is everything set up?
Ganz: Yes, the Paladins are well fed and healthy. They won't have a problem marching in the Orclands right away.
Hero: Good. Nep, are the scouts back already?
Nep: Yes, they say that a meeting of the Warlords has just ended, and three out of the four clans joined forces with the Horde.
Hero: That makes it easier for us, then. Let us go to that clan that went on their way.
Ganz: That's boring. I'll stay here and hold the fort.
Hero: That's what I was going to tell you anyway. The three brothers
Yob, Yobab, and Yobob will come with me.
Yob: I'll have them ready before dawn.
Hero: That's good. We'll leave at dawn.
The Celestials and Oren will join the assault on Clan Arku. 3000 Paladins came to fight in this battle.
.
.
.
(Clan Arku POV)
The warlord and his retinue are on their way back to their camp.
Orc Advisor: "Warlord, don't you think the Paladins are too much for us?"
Arku Warlord: "Why would you think that?"
Orc Advisor: "Our greatest warrior, Yeknom, has already been killed. The defeat of his savage orcs took a huge toll on us, and we are short on soldiers."
Arku Warlord: "We have always been at a disadvantage. You know that. You are my loyal bodyguard, and you saw how I held Clan Arku together during the previous wars. Even against the Horde itself."
Orc Advisor: "But this may be a threat bigger than the horde itself."
Arku Warlord: "Then, we will slip away and get out of sight as we always have."
Orc Advisor: "I think we have disgraced our ancestors a lot already. I don't know if we are orcs anymore if we leave the Orclands just for our safety."
Arku Warlord: "Even so, we are alive. We will then rebuild and restore our honor once we have found a new place to settle."
Orc Advisor: "Your wish has always been our command, Warlord. You will always have us by your side."
Arku Warlord: "Good."
Orc scouts are rushing to the warlord.
Arku Warlord: "What is it?"
Orc Scout: "Paladins, they have come!"
Arku Warlord: "How many?"
Orc Scout: "5000."
Arku Warlord: "That's our signal. Have our soldiers pack up and tell our clan members to get ready to evacuate. We will not fight this unstoppable wave."
Orc Scout: "But they are already here, Warlord!"
Arku Warlord: "What!?"
Celestials coming out of the clouds were descending. They were targeting the warlord.
Arku Warlord: "Shoot them, archers!"
They took down a lot of them, but it was just not enough. It was just the warlord and his bodyguards. Their army was still far away.
Arku Warlord: "It's the end."
10 celestials stabbed their spears into the warlord at the same time and ended his life.
Not long after that, the Paladins attacked the unsuspecting camp of Clan Arku and barely had any casualties while the Orcs were totally wiped out.
.
.
.
(Paladins POV)
Hero: That was too easy.
Yob: I can hear war drums in the distance. We can't see them, so they must have a number of 5000 or more.
Hero: We'll take them, but make sure to notify the others in the fortress so that we can attack them from both sides.
Yobab: Hero, we spotted the Horde coming at us with great speed; they number around 20,000.
We're too outnumbered. We must retreat for now.
Hero: Are there any paths that we can take to avoid the army?
Yobab: We've checked, but our scouts were all taken out. They must have planned to corner us at this place.
The camp of Clan Arku has a high mountain range behind it, which is impossible to traverse without flying over it.
Hero: How about flying out of here?
Yobab: From what I saw, they prepared fire wards and totems to burn down anyone who tries to escape by flying. We already lost a few celestials checking that out.
Hero: Hmmm.
I can get out of here along with the other lords, but the army will suffer high casualties if we leave them alone here.
The sound of the drums gets louder and louder. They have come.
.
.
.
(Orcs POV)
Orc Captain: "Warchief, we are ready to start the assault."
Warchief: "So, were we able to evacuate the non-combatants in the camp of Clan Arku?"
Orc Captain: "Yes, Warchief. The plan, along with the sacrifice of the Warlord of Clan Arku, was successful."
The Warlord sacrificed himself to trap these Paladins.
He was always crazy and unpredictable. Even though this gave us an advantage, I would have loved to fight alongside him one last time. That would have to wait.
Warchief: "Let's start this onslaught! Don't let anyone pass our battle lines!"
The orcs have surrounded the Paladins in the camp. Three roads lead to the camp, and around 6,000 to 7,000 orcs protected each path.
If they choose to break through one road, then we will surround them.
.
.
.
(Paladins POV)
Hero: We have no choice; we need to break through their lines.
Yob: How?
Hero: We will charge at the 3rd road so that the forces on the 1st road will have a longer time of reinforcing. We will then have to fight the orcs from the 2nd road and the 3rd road.
Yob: Got it.
Hero: Us, the Paladin Lords, will lead the assault and break through their lines using force.
Yobob: We are under your command, Hero.
.
.
.
Hero: "Charge!"
Once the Paladins were positioned, they charged all at once.
However, they experienced a surprise that they were not prepared for. By the time the Paladins left the camp, they were already surrounded.
Warchief: "We also have our scouts, humans."
The leader of the orcs came out in the open.
Hero: "You're the Warchief?"
Warchief: "Yes, and you have been trespassing on our land and killing my people. What do you want from us? With the Orclands?"
Hero: "This was originally human land! I know because my ancestors were born here."
The warchief raised his brow at that statement. He did not expect the Old Kingdom to be brought up.
Warchief: "You speak of the old kingdom. Nothing related to them is left now. You think you'll be any different?"
Hero: "I know I'll be. Because I will be ending your life right now!"
The hero charged straight at the warchief with his spear pointed at the warchief's head.
Warchief: "Hmmph."
Two warlords came out of the cluster of orcs behind him and stopped Hero's attack.
Warlord: "This won't be as easy as you think."
The Warchief was about to cut the Hero with his battleaxe, but the Hero kicked the Warlords away to create some space.
Warchief: "Start the attack!"
Orcs: "RAGHHHHHH!!!!"
Thousands of orcs shouting all at the same time were charging all at once.
Hero: "Hold the line!"
Multiple defensive buffs were cast on the Paladin's side.
The Orcs, on the other hand, were casting offensive buffs on their soldiers.
The initial charge of the orcs was devastating to the defending Paladins. Hundreds died while maintaining their shield wall.
Hero: "This battle is not yet lost! Follow the plan."
While Yob and his two brothers are cutting down the orcs in front of their army, the Paladin army will walk slowly forward and repel orc attacks from all sides.
The hero's role is to take down their commander or at least distract them while the rest will make a hole in the Orcish battle lines.
Warlord: "You think you can take all of us, Warlords?"
Another one of the warlords has arrived. Now all the surviving leaders of the Orc Horde are here.
Warchief: "After you have lost here, I will drive out your brothers at the fortress and towards the beach and remove you from this land forever."
Hero: "I have not come to this land unprepared."
The warlords charged at him all at the same time while the warchief stood by.
A bright light coming from the heavens descended on the Warlords and knocked them back.
It was the Sun Spear. Made from pure, holy light, it is used to banish evil beings from the world.
Hero: "In this case, the orcs are the evil ones."
The Warlords, still groggy from being knocked back, were hit all at the same time by the powerful skill and were severely wounded.
Krodog Warlord: "Aghhh!!!"
Berk Warlord: "Hugg...."
Kran Warlord: "I'm sorry, Warchief."
An armor made from holy light was now enveloping the hero.
Warchief: "So this is your trick? Your final form?"
Hero: "Warchief, you better make this worth my while. I haven't used this form for a long time."
.
.
.
(Orc POV)
An hour before the battle...
Warchief: "Son, you must run away with the non-combatants if the battle goes south."
Noel Warbreaker: "But! I'm an orc warrior! I cannot run!"
Warchief: "You, my son, are also a leader. The safety of his people is also his responsibility. You cannot die and leave our people alone. Our enemy right now is the greatest we've faced. This will be our test to see if we are worthy of holding the Orclands."
Noel: "I understand, Warchief."
