Eva led me to the commercial district of the city. She told me that the city was divided into five regions. The center of the city was the commercial district. While the north, west and east side were residential districts. The south side had official buildings like the adventures association, the city hall and other administrative buildings. We saw shops lining up the streets while some vendors were selling food and other items on the street.
We soon came upon a restaurant called "The Homely Palate". It was a two storey building and there was even a line of people waiting for their seats.
When I asked her how we were going to get in, she winked and told me to follow her.
We went to the alleyway behind the restaurant and through there we were able to get inside the restaurant. It seems she was a regular here and after talking to the chef, she was able to get us a sit.
As we were waiting for the food, a man came up running to us screaming.
"Eva, Eva!"
Eva became red and kicked him in the leg.
"Uncle, please stop shouting"
"What can I do. When I see my cute niece I immediately want to hug you. Haha"
"Tsk, I'm not interested"
The uncle made a face as if he died. Seemed like he had a niece complex.
I could also feel Airi withdrawing inside.
"Ahem, so who is this bright young fellow"
"Hello, I'm Rayce. I just became acquainted with Eva today and she's just treating me to a meal." I introduced myself.
"Oh, the food here is great if I may say so myself. I hope you become a regular," he said and winked.
"Uncle, stop advertising your own restaurant. Hmph"
"Haha," I laughed watching the banter between the two of them.
"I'm Hector. Nice to meet you Rayce."
"So are you an adventurer like Eva?"
"Yes," I said "though I just registered today."
"I hope you are careful. The vicinity of this city is quite safe but you never know what danger you may come across."
I nodded.
"Uncle stop bothering him. Don't you have customers you need to take care of."
"Haha"
"Rayce, I hope you like the food. Let's meet again"
"Thank you."
Then he hovered around Eva for sometime talking about her health and stuff and left.
You could hear her continuously clicking her tongue and giving death glares.
Soon our food arrived. You could see three kinds of steaks and a stew which came with a big loaf of bread.
I was quite hungry and after looking at Eva who smiled and nodded, I dug in.
The steaks were delicious but a little bland. I think it had something to do with the spices. Though I don't know what kind of animals they were.
The loaf was also a little hard.
But since I hadn't had anything to eat for a while, I wasn't going to complain. I cleaned up the plate.
While eating, she told me that this country was called Quizen and there were five big cities. Glaecia, Aflurg, Braynia, Eblana and Flaedan. Eblana was the country's port and Glaecia was the capital. She told me that there were five countries on this continent and that there were three continents.
Hmm, I suppose they haven't discovered the fourth and the fifth one.
(Master, both of those two continents are really far from these three. These three are basically grouped together and are really close to each other)
She told me the name of the countries. Antelopea Kingdom, Ebria Kingdom, Kosoto Empire, Kingdom of Quizen and Republic of Astrya. Antelopea was a country of magic. Most of the advanced magic research was being done there. Ebria was a country of dwarves and that they had the best metalworkers. Kosoto was a militaristic country and was constantly at war with the surrounding countries. Quizen was a neutral country and Astrya was a free city in the middle of the continent. Through it is called a country, the area wasn't much. It was basically a big city where races from all over the continent lived together.

She also told me that there was the forest of Errieth to the south and the Khunaro desert to the north west. The forest was a habitat of elves but they mostly kept to themselves. Though they traded with human cities and you could even see occasional elves here. But they were more common in Astrya.
The desert was inhabited by small nomadic tribes and it was a dangerous place with monsters and beasts roaming around. There was even talk of a flock of wyverns inhabiting that place.
I nodded. I needed to look at the map properly and find a place to establish a base first. Then start getting stronger so that I have a chance later on with whatever calamity the Goddess meant.
"How was it?" She asked.
"It was delicious," I said.
She made a I told you so face.
"You won't get better than this in this city. Though in the capital, I heard that there were so many delicious foods that the eyes would pop out."
"Haha. Is it far from here?"
"Hmm....I'd say it'd take around seven days by bus."
"Have you ever been?"
"Not yet. Though my goal is to establish myself as an adventurer in the capital."
"I'm sure you'll be able to do it."
"Hmph of course."
I smiled. She seemed quite straightforward and I liked her nature.
"So, what are your plans now?"
"I think I'll look for an inn and come back tomorrow to collect the money for bohloks. What about you?"
"Yes, that seems like a good plan. I also need to run some errands for my parents."
"Do they run a restaurant as well?"
"Haha no. They have a general store. You can buy all sorts of things."
"That sounds great."
"Yes, they have been running it for a long time."
"Shall we leave then?" She asked.
"Yes, let's."
Eva paid the bill at the counter though her uncle was screaming that he doesn't need his niece's money.
She looked embarrassed.
He smiled at me and with a promise to visit again, we were finally out of the shop.
"Let's meet up tomorrow. I need to go home as fast as I can."
We said farewell and parted.
I leisurely strolled around the city looking for an inn and soon came to a sign board that showed the map of the city.
It showed the area where inns were at. So I made my way towards them.
Soon I reached a medium sized inn called "The Gateway". I slowly opened the door and went inside. There weren't many people inside. A small sitting area was to the left and the reception desk was on the right. I made my way to the desk where a lady was rummaging through a book. It also had a bar attached.
As I reached the desk, she smiled at me and said, "3 silver for a night and 3 silver and 10 copper for bed and breakfast."
I said that I'd take the bed and breakfast deal and took out the money and gave it to the innkeeper. She gave me a key and called someone. A small girl came running.
She smiled at me said her name was Milena.
She told me the room was on the second floor and showed me the way to the top through the stairs at the back.
It was a small room with a bed, chair, table and a lamp. I laid down on the bed and the fatigue seemed to hit me all at once. With all the things that have happened in the span of a day, I soon fell asleep.
I was suddenly awoken by Airi.
(Master get up, it's afternoon already!)
I tried to shut her up but there was no option.
I sighed and got up.
After cleaning myself, I made my way down.
Milena was serving customers and she waved at me to come sit in an empty table.
She brought out the breakfast which was more of a lunch. It contained a stew and a slice of bread.
After eating and entrusting the key to the innkeeper, I made my way to the adventurer association. I soon reached and saw Eva standing near the entrance talking to someone.
"Rayce," she waved. The person she was talking to was called Hiten and he was a C rank adventurer she was acquainted with. I introduced myself. He greeted me and talked about his recent quests and told me to be careful as shadowy wolves were being seen in the forest near the city.
"A shadowy wolf is an entity created from black magic. Though it is not uncommon, there were a lot of sightings recently," he told me.
I promised I'd be careful and then parted ways to go to the reception desk.
It was a different receptionist than yesterday so I showed her the slip for the bohloks.
She smiled and told us to wait.
She soon took out a small bag from below the desk and gave it to us.
The total came up to 2 gold coins including the raw materials harvested from the monsters.
I learned yesterday that 100 coppers make one silver and 100 silvers make one gold and 1000 gold make one platinum coin. It seems okay for a couple of bohloks.
She also gave me five pearls the size of marbles. She asked if I wanted to sell them.
She told me that they were energy stones containing the concentrated power of the monsters and most have them except humans and other living beings and dragons.
"Dragons, there are dragons?" I asked. I really wanted to see a dragon. On Earth, they were mystical beings only written about in the stories. I wondered what a real dragon would look like.
"Yea-h, though it is very rare to see them. Most of them stay to themselves and don't interfere with other living beings," She said peering at my excited face. Eva was vigorously nodding behind me.
"I-is that so. Ahem. Yes, I will sell these stones," I said.
"Thank you. They are called Energons and there's a constant demand for these for research purposes."
"It will be 10 silver each. Though bigger ones will be considerably more."
She gave me the amount and wrote something down on a book she was carrying.
I thanked her and told Eva that I will divide the money. She refused saying that she didn't kill them. But I insisted and she took only 30 silver coins after much persuasion.
I asked what her plans were and she said she had already formed a party today with some people and they were going hunting. She asked if I wanted to come with them.
"You'd be a great help!"
"I'm sorry but I have something to do."
She pouted but left it alone.
I declined as I still had to learn about the skills that I had been bestowed with. I needed time to check everything thoroughly.
I thanked her for her help yesterday and we parted ways with a promise to meet again. She kept looking back and waving as she made her way to the nearby gate. I assume that's where she was meeting up with her party members.
After she was out of sight, I went back to the guild to take an easy request that I could complete while training my skills.
(Alright, Airi. Shall we also start then?)
(Yes Master!)
