“No other rewards?” Karh asked unable to resist the urge to ask.
{Tsk…there’s obviously no other rewards at this level}
{Friendly reminder- If any one of them kill each other then the quest would instantly fail}
‘Thanks…’ Karh sarcastically replied with a very annoyed expression on his face, as he heard a slight tone of delight in the voice speaking to him, while watching Kon and Roe seriously continue to battle each other to the death.
It was clear that Kon had an edge and all that was needed was for Roe to make another mistake and he would instantly die by Kon’s blade.
But somehow instead of Kon’s attacks becoming even fiercer than before it was Roe that seemed to be leading while Kon was the one struggling.
It was only a matter of time before he also wounded Kon but Karh couldn’t be sure.
What if the next attack or injury on Kon took his life, what then would he did?
He couldn’t just wait and let things happen beyond his control especially if he could shift things in his favor.
Roe’s attention was completely lost in the fight which meant that there was a chance that none of them were even aware that Drue was dead so he could help Kon. The problem was whether he could stop Kon from being the one to kill Roe.
Without wasting an extra second, Karh opened his mouth and shouted.
“Drue is about to take the red ball behind you Roe!”
Almost like they had planned it before, Kon immediately halted his movements and gasped like he was about to run forward to stop a disaster.
Roe couldn’t help it, he instantly turned his head to look and that was all Kon needed as he plunged his sword through him.
Karh was already running down the stairs.
‘I just need to be there a second before he actually dies…as long as he doesn't cut off his head,’ Karh though running forward towards them as fast as he could but it seemed like Koj was about to take no chances, pulling his sword out of Roe’s bloody abdomen and about to slice off his head.
“WAIT! Please wait!” Karh screamed like his life was on the line especially since it actually was, beyond glad that for whatever reason Kon had, he decided to listen.
The moment he got in front of Kon, he stood right in front of Roe like a shield, slightly worried to see that Roe was almost on his final breath.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
Roe laid on the ground gasping for breath, sure that nothing could save him from death, which was why he was beyond shocked to suddenly see Karh, the trash he had tormented all through his life, suddenly dash to his rescue.
He couldn’t help but have extremely complicated feelings even as he continued to bleed on the floor.
“We don’t have to kill him. The rest of our brothers are already dead. As long as you get the inheritance no one can touch you,” Karh said to Kon, confident that he would do exactly as he said.
But what he hadn’t been expecting was forKon to suddenly put aside all thoughts about the inheritance and speak directly to him.
“You? You of all people don’t want him to die? Who would have thought that you were actually a Saint,” Kon said, lowering his sword and heading straight to where the red ball was on the floor.
“I…zhon no why but zhank you…” Roe struggled to say as he watched Karh turn around to look at him but he had only just spoken when he instantly realized that he had spoken too soon as he watched Karh struggled to raise his own sword right over his head with a sneer on his face.
“Me save you? Don’t be stupid…Just Die!” Karh said as he dropped the sword right through his eyes, knowing that even if he didn’t have the strength to plunge the sword through him, the force of him dropping the sword would be enough to kill him.

Even without getting any extra rewards, Karh couldn’t help the smile that lit across his face. He never would have imagined that he could kill five of his brothers and now all he had to do was kill one more, even with the one arm he had left.
“You could have simply told me that you wanted to be the one to kill him…” Kon suddenly said from where he stood holding the red ball in his hand with a sly look on his face.
“You know how much I hate it when people deceive me. You’ll have to be seriously punished when we get back,” Karh heard Kon say even as he merely kept quiet, doing nothing else but watch him.
His heart pounded heavily in his chest at the thought that he would have to kill Kon, who seemed to be in perfect condition, with only one working arm.
To him killing Kon had always seemed like a huge mountain he could never cross and now the mountain seemed even bigger than before as he watched him hold the ball up high with a cheesy grin on his face.
“I ACCEPT THE INHERITANCE,” he screamed, his arms stretched out to the side waiting in expectation for the inheritance to fall on him.
Karh could already imagine how he too had made a fool of himself the first time he accepted the inheritance only to be killed.
‘Should I have attacked him the moment he closed his eyes…’ Karh wondered with furrowed eyebrows only to sigh and shake his head slightly as he continued to watch.
Unlike the others, Kon wasn’t poisoned and there was absolutely no way he could catch him off guard with his mediocre speed.
The next second a booming sound of anger filled the ancient all they both stood in, and Karh would have crossed his arms around his chest as he waited if he wasn’t missing one.
“What’s wrong? Why the hell can’t I feel anything”
‘That’s the same question I’ll also like to ask or maybe you just need to wait a little longer for it to kick in,’ Karh thought to himself, mocking Karh in his mind even though he didn’t dare to open his mouth and say it aloud.
Just when Karh was going through the corners of his mind for the best way to kill Kon and get away with his life, things suddenly got much worse when a familiar voice that had been strangely quiet for a while suddenly boomed across the room.
{You can’t accept the Inheritance anymore. The first person that touched the ball becomes the inheritor}
{The ball is now Useless!}
Karh froze the moment he heard its words, feeling his fingers tremble ever so slightly in fear as he watched Kon fix his gaze on him without uttering a word.
Karh was prepared to explain how the inheritance was utter nonsense, how if he truly had it then where was the evidence. Why would he allow Drue take his arm and simply stand by without killing him and everyone else that remained.
All of these were on the tip of his tongue when he mentally cursed in anger hearing the words the voice said as it spoke again, it's voice boomed across the hall.
{Well…if you kill the inheritor, there’s a high chance of you becoming one}
‘Are you serious? What the hell do you think you’re doing?’ Karh yelled in his mind, speaking directly to the voice that usually spoke in his head but suddenly had a new found love for roaring out loud.
Of course he didn’t get a response, and thankfully for him he still kept his attention firmly on Kon enough to know the exact moment he moved from the spot where he stood and dashed straight for him.
Karh instantly dashed up the stairs as quickly as he could while yelling at the top of his lungs.
“It's lying… If I so much as had a smidgen of whatever inheritance it's yelling out then why the hell am I so weak…” Karh yelled running up the stairs until he got up the platform before running closer to the ruins of the huge gigantic table and chairs that had crumbled down.
