“Think about it Kon, please belie…” but he didn’t get to finish his words when he suddenly felt a heavy hit behind his head one that easily knocked him to the ground.

The moment he hit the ground he could already feel a sharp pulsing pain, shoot right through his skull, and the smell of blood hint him on all sides, raising his head to find Kon standing directly in front of him gripping his sword tightly in his hand as he glared carefully at him, with strong killing intent.

He had every intention of killing him and it seemed like he was going to enjoy it.

“Even if what you say is indeed true and the inheritance is nonsense, I can’t let you live Karh. You know this. What if the power takes time to manifest? There are just too many if’s for me to let you continue to live. Roe might have been stupid enough to not pay attention to his surroundings when fighting but the smell and sound of a blade digging into flesh can’t escape me Karh”

“Drue took your arm and was about to kill you but you somehow managed to kill him. You also stopped me from killing Roe because you wanted to kill him. Even now I can’t help but think you were also behind the poison. Orvian is smart enough to kill all of us without having to try too hard. You’re also the only one that could possibly want all of us dead and even if you aren’t, I’m not the kind of person to leave loose ends lying around,” Kon rambled on, and Karh’s heart raced heavily in his heart as he wondered how he the hell he was going to have any chance of killing Ron, especially now that he had the upper hand.

But just when he thought Kon would continue to ramble on, he suddenly stopped slowly moving his sword towards Karh about to plunge it right through his chest. There was no way for him to avoid it unless he chose to deflect it with his dagger. However, the moment he did so his dagger would no longer be a surprise regardless of the fact that it would still be invisible.

In a split second, Karh had no choice but to make a decision, the only one he knew he had.

He moved and used his dagger to deflect Kon’s sword to the side, the sharp sound of metal colliding against each other rang sharply in the air leaving Karh’s arm and fingers trembling slightly from the force of the collusion.

For a few seconds Kon was taken back, as he liked at the exact spot where he had pushed his sword to only to see nothing but his sword there.

His eyes were fixed on Karh with an obvious expression of confusion on his face but no iota of relief could be found on his face.

How many more times could he deflect Kon’s sword before he finally met his death. There was a sharp thumping pain streaming from the back of his head, he was missing a whole arm and the pain that stemmed from that was already indescribable, and to top it off Kon hovering right over him about to kill him, and all he had was a small invisible dagger.

‘I’m going to die, am I not?’

{My offer of a quick and painless death still stands}

Karh didn’t even act like he heard as he watched Kin recover from his slight daze, a vicious sneer slowly appearing on his face as he gripped his sword seven tighter in his hand.

It was clear that he had no intention of missing the second time.

“Wait…wait a minute,” Karh hurriedly spoke with a clear look of resignation in his voice as he spoke.

“I…I’ll give you the so called inheritance. Just don’t kill me,” Karh said stretching out his bare hands as he spoke.

{What are you up to? What inheritance?}

Kon didn’t move and simply looked at Karh with a wary expression on his face that showed that he had no intention of falling for Karh’s schemes.

“I swear on my life…its invisible and can’t be seen,”

{Ehe…he…Your dagger? You’re giving him your dagger? Isn’t that the same as asking for death?}

“You mean the inheritance is what you used to deflect my sword?” Kon asked and Karh vehemently resisted the urge to frown at Kon’s sudden persistent use of his brain.

“Yes…“ Karh replied with a sigh, as he laid fully on the ground looking up with an empty gaze devoid of hope.

Kon was ready to accept it but he wasn’t about to give Karh any chances to attack. He went as far as to place his sword right in the center of Karh’s cost before he leaned to the side to accept whatever was in Karh’s obviously empty hand.

‘If I die…I die,’ Karh thought with determination in his heart, as he watched Kon reach out his left hand towards his stretched out hand.

Just as Kon was about to touch whatever was in his hand, Karh gripped the hilt of the dagger in his hand using all his strength to move, stabbing the dagger right through Kon’s wrist and dragging it down with enough force to render it completely useless.

Unfortunately for Karh, he had just stabbed right through Kon’s hand dragging the dagger down when Kon brought down the full weight of the sword in his hand down, piercing a huge hole through his stomach and pinning him to the ground.

“Kurgh…” a mouthful of blood rushed out of Karh’s mouth and out his body soaking the ground.

He barely had enough energy to pull out the dagger, even as He heard Kon laugh in his face, feeling him put even more pressure on his sword as he confidently leaned into it, causing Karh to splurge out even more blood, enough to show that he was dying.

“What was the plan? A small balde through my hand? Even if it's invisible…it's completely hopeless such a small thing cannot hurt me,” Kon bragged looking down at Karh who stared up at him with desperate eyes and a small smile that he wanted to wipe off his face.

“What the hell are you smiling about you dying man?” Kon asked, prepared to pull his sword out of Karh’s belly and instantly end him, but waited to hear an answer from him first before he did.

Karh’s bloody lips moved but although Kon could see them move he couldn’t hear what he was trying to say.

Out of curiosity he lowered his head just a little lower, ignoring the small throbbing pain in his hand, curious to hear his brother’s last dying words as he fixed his eyes on his lips.

Karh’s smile became wider even as he began moving his lips again,

“Everything will be fine…” he said to Kon’s confusion, his face too close to Karh’s own to see Karh raise his right hand which looked empty but wasn’t and stab it right through the side of Kon’s skull.

Kon’s brain didn’t have any time to process it until it finally happened, his eyes were the first to turn bloody red, right before his entire body spawned, and every sign of life slowly disappeared from his body.

Karh barely had enough time to push his body to the side before it fell on him making his predicament even worse than it already was.

“Everything will be fine…as long as I kill you before I die,” Karh said with a bloody smile on his face, his white teeth dyed red.

He felt even more blood streaming from his throat but even the huge sword still embedded in his stomach spelling his doom didn’t at all damper the joy he felt at killing Kon. He found such a feat to be so impossible that he almost believed that he was stuck in a dream, one that probably happened after he died.

Seeing the extra reward, Karh really had the urge to laugh, and he just wondered if he could go back in time when a small note suddenly appeared under it.

‘Well there goes any chance of revival. Maybe I should wish for some wine,’ Karh joked knowing that his stomach was too wrecked for even a sip of water.

“Kurgh…kurgh…” he coughed up more blood, with even more splurging out his throat threatening to choke him to death.

‘So dz is it…’

{You fulfilled your quest but Alas! You are dying. I can’t imagine how much pain you must he in}

Karh found the sad tone the words were spoken in quite laughable but he continued to listen. At least no matter how small it helped distract him from the pain, and how quickly his entire body was becoming numb.

{ If you ask me, I’ll take away the pain in a split second and send you off to the afterlife. You don’t even have to beg. You just need to ask}

Karh would be lying if he said he wasn’t tempted as he laid on the cold ground feeling the life drain out of him.

The pain was still there and although it would probably take a few minutes before he finally died, what was the difference if he brought his death forward.

“O…” he said about to agree only to suddenly pause.

“On…on second thoughts I’ll wa..wait it out,” Karh struggled to reply knowing that he had no more strength in his body to speak any more.

{Tsk…} a few seconds more passed before a clearly annoyed voice rang in his head
