Finley- The Lost Prince
Intermission Interview: Finley

Intermission Interview: Finley

Interviewer: "Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview."

Finn: "Ah well, It's not like its anything difficult although I can't imagine anyone being that interested in knowing about me"

I: "Well, we should probably start with the basics. What's your name in full?"

Finn: "Ah, Its Finn- Finley Aies Cai Hall.. or Should I say Regalis-Olcay?"

I: "Those were your parent's last names?"

F: "As far as I've heard"

I: "Age?"

F: "Seventeen"

I: "And your birthday?"

F: "I don't really know the original, but what's recorded on my papers is August the sixteenth."

I:" If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?"

F: " Ah, wow I hate those questions. Um, Fairy, Goblin and Student I guess?"

I: " Out of all the cast Which would you consider yourself closest too and why?"

F: "On the record or off it?"

I: "Is there a difference?"

F: "Of course there is. On the record, there's my great grandfather, Theodulus, My Fiancee Mei, The two that have taken care of me since I was a baby, Corin and Cambridge,  my friend Jake, and there's Will, who practically adopted me. How am I supposed to pick between them?"

I: "And off the record?"

F: "Well. probably Galen?"

I: "Ah. I see."

F: "Can we move on to the next question?"

I: "Of course, Can you tell us what other names you had for Galen? And why you chose the name?"

F: "Well, I was stuck between Johnny, Bryn and Galen, but in the end I chose Galen. I used to have a dorm mate with the name. He'd help me out a lot but he'd always make me promise to name my first kid after him. I figured this was close enough."

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

I: "Wow, that's quite sweet of you."

F: "You mean stupid."

I: "Of course not! Now, This is a question from a reader actually. Do you have any plans on bringing Mei to the human world and showing her to your friends?"

F: "Ahh... That's something I have to do isn't it."

I: "You mean you've never considered it?"

F: "Of course I've considered it, but I don't know. I guess it'll happen when it happens. it's not something that haunts my dreams or anything."

I: "Ah, of course. but What does haunt your dreams? if you don't mind me asking?"

*a blank stare*

F: "Ah.. wow. Wasn't expecting that from this... if I had to say it'd probably be that one day I would wake up and find out that none of this was real? I hate to be a cliche but the thought of going back to how I was.. the thought that I would never get to meet everyone I've met and would never get to do anything I've done... that would kill me."

I: "Thank you for answering honestly."

*Finn shrugs*

F: "No point in answering if I wasn't planning on being honest."

I: "A wonderful mentality. Okay, as for the next question. In chapter eighty-nine, Jake guessed that you had just forgotten about keeping your identity as the owner of Volui a secret. Is that true?"

F: "Ah, am I allowed to read the other characters' entries? I'd always thought we were only allowed to read our own."

I: "... I mean. I'm sure it can't hurt. but the question?"

F: "Well. maybe? I mean, I remember I cared a lot about staying low key before but I guess after being treated like a prince and a company owner everywhere else, I couldn't imagine being treated any kind of way by a bunch of high schoolers would make much of an impact."

I: "Before Mei, were there any previous relationships or crushes you had?"

F: "Ah... well. as for relationships I never had any worth mentioning. There was that one girl back in the eighth grade, but she dumped me quicker than she'd asked me out."

I: " And as for crushes?"

F: "Well. I think I had a thing for Sparrow for a while but it was pretty clear she only saw me as a little brother so I dropped it." *

I: "Oh, It can't have been easy to see her start to getting along with Jake then?"

F: "Is there something between them? Well, good for the two I guess."

I:" Are you more of a dog person or a cat person?"

F: The only pet I can imagine having right now is Galen, and that's mainly because most of the maintenance is done by someone else. The thought of having a living being depend on me is... terrifying."

I: " What would you say your favourite part of the fairy world is?"

F: "It's definitely how interesting it is. Every day I learn something new, from the different species of animals there to the ways magic can be used and shaped. I think I'd have a hard time getting bored even if I spent all my free time there."

I: "And the least favourite?"

F: "Whenever I have to 'act like a prince' and go through a bunch of ceremonies. Its usually uncomfortable for both me and the people around and is rarely anything to look forward too."

I: "I see, well thank you for your time!"

F: "Anytime... well. Within reason of course."
