Chapter 56: a Regalis and an Olcay

Finley Cai Aies Hall April 28th, 20XX

“ Wait-Please- Help!”

Theodulus who was behind me pretended not to hear my cries for help and let the odd bird-like creatures attack me while I climbed the fifty-foot wall.

As well, this time he had not allowed me to let Aies take over like usual so I had to rely on my mental fortitude to get through this

“Old man! I haven't even really unlocked my goblin blood yet! Right now I’m just a human being! This is impossible!”

He suddenly dropped the sword he was polishing and looked at me with a stare so intense that it was terrifying. Because of the sudden change in the atmosphere I let go and started to fall down the 30 feet I had already climbed.

I tensed my core and propelled myself into a roll, Redirecting the direction of a force so I didn't break anything and tumbled to a stop. I heard his footsteps come towards me, light but still incredibly powerful.

“ Stand up Aies.”

I did as he said but still grumbled,

“ I’m still Finn-”

He suddenly growled to cut me off.

“ No! Finn is a construct that was made because of the mistakes that were made. Finn is a human and is the role you chose to play for whatever ridiculous reason you’ve convinced yourself with. You Finley Cai Aies are not- and never have been Human. Have I made myself clear?”

I nodded in response to his intensity than to his words, which had been repeated to me over a million times but was confused at the sudden outburst.

He saw this and grew even more agitated.

“ Listen, child. You, Finley Cai Aies are the First and only child of Belphoebe Finley Alana Regalis, The queen of the fairies that single-handedly unified the four courts of the land under her rule and forged the first trade pact between the Goblins and Fairies. Your father was Theodulus Aies Olcay III, the Ruler of the Goblins that rose up through multiple wars and adventures to eventually overthrow the rulers of the past and establish a new era of goblins that freed them from the oppression of the two races and won them back their own land that was overtaken so many years ago! As well you are one of the First Fairy-goblin children to have lived past the age of 5 years of age and the first to have access to both powers on an overwhelming scale! To have such a person so avidly believe that he was a mere ...Human...is simply a crime! As well as a great disrespect to both of your parents. So I repeat, YOU, Finley Cai Aies who carries the blood of both a Regalis AND An Olcay is NOT, in any conditions or construct, a human.”

By the end of such a rant, he was so irritated that he began to breathe in a way that made his entire chest heave but I wasn't in the state of mind to pay attention to the fact that he, so much stronger than myself should never have gotten winded from just a speech.

It wasn't like I didn't know. I’d been told that it wasn't that I suddenly became a fairly and a goblin after years of being a human but that didn't overwrite the past 15 years of living in the human world, especially not after only a few months.

To calm himself down he sat into a meditative pose and began to breathe deeply, closing his intensely red eyes and opening his thin lips to breathe. I took a seat beside him and began to speak slowly,

“ So...You knew my parents?”

He stayed silent for a second but then replied with,

“ Plank.”

“ Huh?”

He took a deep inhale and exhales then said,

“ Don't think you can use this excuse to slack off in your training if you want to ask me a question get into a plank and ask from there.”

I was caught.

I slowly shifted from my cross-legged pose into a full extended plank and asked again with a bit of strain in my voice,

“ From the way you spoke, it sounded like you knew my parents personally.”

He slowly nodded then said with a complicated expression,

“ You could say that I knew of them but it's a bit complicated. I only had the chance to meet them twice and they were under rather extraneous circumstances.”

His tone saddened for a bit and made me look up but the second I did..the world went dark.
