Aies Finley Cai Hall April 28th, 20XX
For the first time in what felt like forever I awoke and had fingers to wriggle and legs to stretch. I stood up and realized what I'd already felt.
“ I’m out!”
Immediately I began to run through a few exercises, as quickly as I could get to them. Since neither Finley or the bug cared for exercise I always felt like I had been sedentary for a month.
The goblin blood had not fully been activated yet so I couldn't use anybody strengthening magic but the fact that I could move around outside of that now hateable room inside Finley’s head was enough to make me laugh.
That high lasted for a solid ten minutes until I finally realized someone else was in the room. The familiar golden head of hair and cocky smile was enough to kill my vibe and throw me into a rage.
“ You! what are you doing out ? is that even possible?”
He laughed at my disappointment in an annoyingly princely manner and said,
“ If you would calm down your muscle-brainess for half a minute you would realize that this was an illusion that was targeted at us two.”
Of Course, a quick look around told me the same thing but him being right didn't make me like him anymore.
“ Did you just call me a muscle head? If you're so smart then why didn't you get us out of here yet? You bug-like bas-”
At hearing me insult the wings he was ever so proud of he lunged at me and I greeted him with open arms.
Because we technically had the same body, we were rather evenly matched and whirled around the room in a tornado of punches and hits until a cold voice calmed us down faster than any spell could.
“ Well haven’t you two been having fun inside my great-grandsons head.”
We both froze stock still at the sound of the voice that had brought us into existence but I recovered faster and took the opportunity to land another hit on Cai.
We were already in trouble anyway so why wouldn't I?
I was suddenly lifted up by the collar and so was Cai, which was the end of it to me, after all, I had gotten the last hit but he couldn't help but spit out,
“Honestly, Just how much repressed anger does Finley even have to have created such a volatile Beast like you.”
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“ And just how messed up was he to have created such a pretentious Bug like you.”
He twitched and I took advantage to keep going. After all, with the both of us currently being held apart, I couldn't hit him..but he couldn't hit me either.
“ What bug boy? got a problem with that? Wanna twirl around in your little tutu and cast a ‘liddle’ spell on me? ”
“ Beast!!” He roared. “ I can't get to you now but remember how much stronger I am than you! I'll put you down like the mangy mutt you are”
Never mind that he had insulted his own heritage as well...
I scoffed in response,
“ Call me all the names you want insect but once Finley gains access to my powers we both know what the result will be.”
“ENOUGH!”
The voice suddenly roared. We both looked to see its owner, Theodulus himself, stalking towards us.
“ That's Enough! You two have really been having fun haven't you, researching how to kill a goblin most efficiently-”
Cai looked downwards guiltily and my eyes widened in shock, Genuine this time rather than sarcastically.
“ He wanted to kill me?!”
Theodulus scoffed,
“ As if you haven't been practicing disarming and killing a fairy-”
This time I looked down and away from Cai. Theodulus finally reached us and started twisting both of our ears vengefully,
“ Do you two NOT remember what I said? List them out.”
“ We will cooperate as we are technically the same person.”
“ We will not put Finley into any danger”
“We will not interfere with Finley’s human life.”
“ We will not harm any of Finley’s friends”
“ We will not tell Finley your true identity as his great grandfather.”
“ We will accept that Finley is ready we will unify back into his consciousness.”
Cai and I alternated saying the rules and once we were done He intensified the twisting.
“ Ahh!”
Ahh!”
His voice lowered and he began to speak slowly Like he was scared he would do much worse if he doesn't slow down his speech.
“ Even if I can't bear to hurt my grandson, no matter what aspect of his personality is out, how can you guys be so adept at seeking death! How did you manage to break EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE RULES? Acting out during an armed robbery, trying to kill his friend, almost revealing his secret to that same friend and almost letting him hear you call me grandfather!”
He let go and stood in front of us, in full out lecture mode.
“You two are going to make up now! neither of you is going to kill the other because if you were to succeed for some reason all of you would die AND if I see you two fight one more time I will personally disintegrate you two and leave Finley by himself. Either way, you only have a few more months of existence so just get along!”
While rubbing my injured ear I couldn't help but mutter,
“ You don't have to remind us, we know that we’ll die in a month.”
He put the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger and began to massage it. he was clearly frustrated,
“ You don't die! You just become a part of Finley again..as you always were!”
Cai chimed in with a bitter tone,
“ In the end, we still lose consciousness and individuality. How is it any different?”
Theodulus stared at us like we were complete idiots but then it was replaced by a look of worry.
“ This is bad. This is really bad.”
