Chapter 53: Watch out!

Cai Aies Finley Hall April 28th, 20XX

I landed on the now-familiar pink tiles and unleashed my nausea into the toilet before finally standing and setting myself straight.

I prepared to walk out as usual and thank the girl that was usually here to help me but stopped when I heard her say,

" I. Said. Don't. move"

In a panicked and harsh tone. While I as Cai was not overly familiar with her I could feel Finley in his half-conscious state threatening to overtake the body if I didn't go and see what was going on.

The rules of us, Cai and Aies, taking over the bodies were quite simple. As long as we didn't do anything that Finn fundamentally would not do or as long as we didn't refuse to do anything he truly would, such as protecting his friends them he would remain unconscious to the world until we relinquished power.

I headed out into the main room but suddenly heard her yell towards me once she saw I was there,

" Wait, I have a guest over!"

But sadly it was too late. A man, dressed in a rather well-made battle suit and holding a rather familiar bat saw me and immediately leaped in front of her in a defensive position, holding her wrist to keep her from running away.

"Stay behind me, this man might be dangerous"

He dashingly said, but Sparrow looked agitated and fought against his grip.

As quickly as I could I shifted backward and extended my wand into a staff.

In the mask and hood, he did look rather dangerous especially with the bat he was swinging so I held up the staff in an aggressive manner,

“ I’ll ask you to step away from Ms. Sparrow. If you do not oblige I will have to move you by force.”

At the sound of my voice, his eyes beneath the mask narrowed and his stance slightly loosened.

“...It’s yo-”

I took the chance in his distraction and lunged forward. I snapped the staff up into his jaw then hit him squarely in the chest before he could finish that sentence... Or rather I tried to hit him, but before I could land the hit my body suddenly veered off direction and I ended up body slamming into him instead.

Still, the difference between my half-goblin body and the human body were too large. He went flying back into the wall and began to cough heavily from the impact.

To think that his body physically rejects causing harm to his friends.

By now I could see that the masked man was one of his friends but I couldn't let him let sparrow know that he knew me.

Before Sparrow could go tend to his wounds I held by the upper arm and leaned downwards while speaking in a lower tone. This made her lean in closer to hear me and two..let me use an enchantment spell.

At a low level, of course, any higher and Finley would lock me up in his mind for a short eternity.

“ Are you alright Ms. Sparrow? Sorry I couldn't get here faster.”

Ordinarily, this was where she should have gotten lost in the moment and collapsed into my embrace...but that didn't happen.

Instead, she wrestled my hand off her arm and ran towards Jake then for the first time looked at me like I was...undesirable.

“Why did you do that?! He was protecting me!”

She demanded, but she didn't even wait for an explanation and began to feel around his chest for any broken bones. he groaned in obvious pain and it escalated to a hoarse shout as she reached a particular spot.

“ You’d better hope he isn't hurt in any way.”

Her frown deepened as she felt around that same area that had made him yell and let out a small curse,

“ I think his ribs might be fractured.”

Without a care for the fabric on his shirt or any sense of modesty she ripped open his shirt and looked at his heavily bruised chest.

“ ai.”

I took a deep breath and shortened my staff back into a wand then cautiously began to approach him. But like a cat, she snarled at me and put a protective arm around him,

“ Back off!”

I put up my arms in a peaceful manner and said with as much remorse as I could muster while trying to get rid of the ball of tension that had balled up in my chest.

..She cannot hate me. no matter the version. Finley would lose his mind.

“ Sorry. I genuinely thought he was endangering you and acted as such. With such suspicious clothing, I thought that was a logical move…..sorry.”

Her harsh expression finally loosened up a bit.

“it's fine... it's just that if his ribs are broken then I don't think I could make it up to him… he had a competition next week. If he’s hurt then he’s risking his scholarship for university.”

The knot of tension only tightened and I found myself saying.

“ Let me fix it. I’ll heal him now!”

Slowly, ever so slowly, Finley was taking control again.

..So this is the difference between a primary personality and a secondary.

She helped me get Jake onto a bed then left the room as I’d requested.

“Please Ms. Sparrow. Let me make this up.”
