Finley Cai Aies Hall April 21st, 20XX
The next day I went to seek out the General once more, intending to at least ask for the blueprints for the courses in the amusement parks only to find out that there had been an uprising in her duchy and she had been dispatched to take care of it.
As a result, the week visit was cut quite short and I got to go home a day early. I gathered up the gifts I had gotten help from Corin to prepare. a Flutter Moth silk scarf for Will’s sister, a similar tie for Will, an enchanted metal earring for Nikolas and a wooden bat for Jake.
Jake had mentioned before that he never really played baseball before but was thinking of starting in order to sub in for more clubs and raise his standing at school.
I had gone around and merged branches for the different magical trees of the forest such as the tree of strength and the shrub of endurance. Then with Cambridge’s guidance, I had merged them into a single bat.
Of course, I'd had to suppress it quite a lot in the human world but on the off chance I ever made the decision to bring Jake to the Fairy world, it would be an indispensable weapon.
After finishing that and saying goodbye to everyone I remembered landing at home being greeted by a depressingly large stack of paperwork that had been slid through the mail slot. I also remember considering going through them and ultimately deciding to sleep and tackle them in the morning.
What I don't remember is how I ended up here.
The serene silver ceiling glistened above me and reflected the inner peace I was supposed to be feeling but my muscles ached from sitting in a single position for so long and creaked when I started to move,
“ You couldn't spare me one night of rest?”
I had returned from the fairy world after a week and intended to sleep for a bit but had suddenly found myself summoned here to keep Theodulus company.
Beside me, Theodulus sat in the same meditative pose, still as a statue and growled as I shifted around in preparation to move.
“ If you can’t help but move then I’ll make sure you can’t move at all. You've already had a week off and we’re behind. At this rate, you won’t be fit to even meet another goblin until you’re 50. It doesn't help that you aren’t the brightest kid in the world either”
I stopped mid-motion and settled back into the original position, feeling partially terrorized but more impressed that he had figured out I was going to move without opening his eyes.
“ Why do I have to do this?”
“ We both agreed this was necessary.”
I gritted my teeth as the leaden feeling spread up from my legs to the bottom of my stomach,
“I think I’ll need a reminder.”
He exhaled heavily and launched into the explanation he had already given before,
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
“ You are currently living in three realms. The human, fairy and goblin”
I nodded.
“ The three require different things from you.right?”
I nodded again and tried to think of other things to distract myself from the pain that was all too quickly replacing the leaden feeling.
“ This is to help you deal with it so you don’t go insane or worse reveal any of the worlds to each other.”
He finally opened his eyes and shifted into a more comfortable position but scowled at me when I tried to follow suit.
“ By the end of this, you’ll essentially have three personalities in you that you can switch between at will. and we’ll use the items you got from your Mother and your Father as triggers.”
“ You brought the folder from the fairy world, right? oh, you can relax now.”
I nodded and gratefully unfolded myself into a more relaxed position before pointing to the folder I had received from Esmeralda when I had first agreed to take lessons from her on the ‘perfect male fairy’.
Theodulus flipped through it with a faint scowl on his face but said nothing until he reached the end with a loud bark of derisive laughter.
“ This is ridiculous. I'd love to find a fairy with even one of these ideals. You realize they're just trying to make you into a puppet right?”
At seeing my lack of a reply He shook his head in amusement but stood up nonetheless.
“ If you’re sure then let's get started, even though you took the day off school today, I assume that you still have work and the annoying fairy world ”
I dismissed the fact that he insulted the fairy world again and very unwillingly got into the meditation position again. He knelt down behind me and placed his hands on the top of my head.
“ Just stay still and clear your mind. This is technically hypnotism so we’ll have to do this more than once for it to stick.”
“ Let's start with Finley.”
He raised an eyebrow at my sudden interjection and a wary expression spread on his face that was somehow visible under the mask.
“ Are you sure? That’ll be your main personality, is the human world so important to you? is it worth it?”
“ I’ve been Finn for the longest so it's only right”
He nodded and brought out the sheets he’d had me fill out earlier.
“Pull up a silhouette of a person in your head and fill in the blanks as I speak.”
I did as he said and pulled up an empty silhouette of myself and as he began his voice, far from the usual harsh and destructive tone and adopted a softer and calmer one.
“ Finley goes by the name of Finn. A resident of the human world. This is the main personality. Open your eyes.”
I did see my glasses placed in front of me and burned the picture into my memory.
“ Let's move on, Close your eyes again. Cai-”
I hurriedly cleared my mind and pulled up another blank silhouette.
“ Prince of the Fairies, the only one of his kind. Child of Belpheobe. Heir to the fairy realm. A Secondary personality. Open your eyes.”
I opened my eyes once again to see the locket this time, gleaming a jarring gold against the soft silver light of the room.
“ Final one, Close your eyes again.”
I heeded his orders.
“ Aies, Heir to the Goblin realm-.”
Wait for what?
He hit me over the head,
“ Please Focus or you'll end up with an idiot personality as well. Well, a more Idiotic one. ”
I started to counter but he kept talking.
“ Son of Theodulus III. A secondary Personality. Open your eyes. “
This time the ring and bracelet were in front of me as well as a purely diamond earring in an infinity shape I had never seen before.
“ And that Marks the end. Go to sleep Finley.”
My eyelids started to close of their own volition this time but I fought to stay awake.
“ Wait! what did you just say-”
” Goodbye Finley you still have a full day ahead of you after all.”
