35. Nightshade

Just by the name alone, one could easily assume that it was related to nobility, so Zach decided to ask the system to elaborate more on what the trait was about.

[Courtly Grace: This trait allows you to exude an aura of nobility whenever you need to. It reflects your attention to detail, your commitment to excellence and your desire to conduct yourself with grace and dignity even in the face of adversity. It also highlights your uniqueness in a world where social status and decorum are highly valued.]

'This is amazing.'

'I guess with this, I won't have to bother learning how nobles act and behave.'

This meant he could focus more on the current quests he was yet to complete.

Moving on to anything else he might have missed in his status, Zach noticed his current life skills which had levelled up from what they previously were a few days ago.

'System?'

[Yes?]

'The master level is a proficiency level for a particular life skill, right?'

[You are correct.]

'Okay, but is the master level the final level or is there more that I have to know about?'

[The proficiency levels are categorized as this: Beginner, Fundamental, Intermediate, Advanced, Master and Grand Master.]

[The Beginner level serves as the lowest level in the scale and it typically indicates your naivety towards a particular skill and the little to no knowledge you have pertaining to that skill.]

[Moving up the scale, there's the Fundamental level which is slightly higher than the Beginner level. It indicates a basic understanding of the already acquired skill.]

[The Intermediate level on the other hand indicates the great degree of knowledge you've acquired, whereas, the Advanced level denotes the higher level of experience and proficiency that you have obtained in that skill.]

[As for the Master level, this means you've shown an outstanding ability and expertise in those skills. Then, at the top of the proficiency level scale is the Grand Master level which shows that you have attained an elevated level of knowledge and mastery in a particular skill. It also represents the apogee of proficiency level you need to reach.]

'It is surprisingly very easy to understand.'

'This also means I have one more proficiency level to aim for in both my cooking and drawing skills,' Zach made a mental note of this before taking a look at the favorability of the girls he could see so far.

He noticed that Luna was currently the highest with Jade just slightly below hers.

Zach's cooking played a huge role in increasing Luna's favourable impression of him whereas his willingness to ensure that Jade didn't lose her job made her favourability instantly rise to sixty-four percent.

Zach could only wonder how high her favourability would be after their date later today.

It was something he was really looking forward to seeing.

As for Amelia, even Zach was surprised to see how high her favourability had risen.

However, he was glad with what he was seeing.

Now that he had viewed everything he wanted to see in his status, the blue screen in front of him vanished and Zach's attention was drawn towards two males who were sitting beside him.

"Woah, dude. Are you seeing this?" One of the male voices rang out, dragging the attention of his friend towards him.

"What is it?" The second male moved closer to see why his friend called his attention.

On the screen of his friend's phone was the latest news article of an announcement recently made that not only shocked them but also that of the art guild and several other experienced artists in the city.

"Amelia Earheart has finally chosen an apprentice."

"What? For real?"

"I ain't kidding man. Take a look at this."

"Woah, you're right. But what's the name of the apprentice?"

"It doesn't say but it looks like the artist will be using an alias for now."

"What's the alias?"

"Nightshade."

"Pfft," While listening to their conversation, Zach tried his best not to burst into laughter at the silly alias Amelia made for him.

He didn't actually hate the alias.

In fact, he found it to be a lot better than the alias of the second richest rookie artist whose alias was 'I cannot stop twinkling.'

At least, Zach's alias sounded cool and he also understood Amelia's reasoning for coming up with an alias for him.

Amelia didn't want the media to trace his background and discover the runic marks spread across his body if she revealed his name.

For now, she wanted her apprentice's name to remain anonymous until Zach was ready to reveal it himself.

Zach was also surprised by how fast she quickly made the announcement.

Amelia made the announcement to the art guild and since the art guild had been trying hard to reach out to Zach, she wanted them to stop disturbing Zach with their phone calls.

The same went for the other experienced artists fighting for him to work for them.

However, since Zach had been a hot topic recently in the art world, news had spread fast of Amelia winning the race to acquire the most coveted rookie artist of the century.

Only time would tell just what this new apprentice of Amelia's was capable of achieving in the art world under the guidance of the most beautiful artist in the city.

A few minutes passed and Zach finally arrived home. He opened the entrance door to find Luna running towards him at full speed.

"Big brother, you're back!" The five-year-old little fox leapt onto Zach to give him a huge hug around his neck.

A smile appeared on Zach's face as he asked. "Missed me?"

Luna pulled her head back to look into his eyes before nodding her head in response to his question.

Seeing this, Zach rubbed his nose on hers and Luna giggled before asking.

"Where were you? We've been looking everywhere for you but big sister Jade said you went out to see someone."

Before leaving the mansion, Zach had sent a text message to Jade, letting her know where he was going, and Jade had been smiling ever since she saw his text.

This was because it felt like the two of them were now a couple considering that he informed only her of his plans for the day.
