Just because Zach listed the best possible time and place to sell, didn't mean that customers would willingly go to her spot.
It was one thing to sell at the locations they wanted, it was another to make the profit they needed, and this was what prompted Jade's next question.
"What type of food do you have in mind for tomorrow?"
"Leave that to me," Zach replied, reassuring her that he would make a list of the meals he had in mind.
Jade couldn't help but notice that Zach had been using the pronoun 'we' rather than leaving her to do it alone and she was pleased to hear this.
Although a part of her still felt that Zach's plan wasn't really feasible, still she chose to trust him and go along with the plan he had.
After all, it was a lot better than what she had in mind to do.
With their plans now set for tomorrow, Jade took the plates Zach used to eat and began washing them at the sink before turning around to see Zach handing her a phone.
Looking closely, Jade could see that the phone belonged to her.
She collected her phone, knowing what Zach wanted her to do.
"Make the call tonight and tell him everything he needs to know," Zach advised before turning around to leave.
Jade nodded in understanding but asked a question that had been plaguing her for a while after seeing a new side of Zach she had never seen before.
"Why don't you become a chef?"
"Huh?" Zach had heard Jade's question even though she muttered it, but he was surprised to hear her question.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
"I mean, you clearly know a lot about the culinary guild and the best time and place to work, but, weirdly, you are not interested in being a chef."
"True, and that is because I do not share the same passion that you have for cooking. Besides, I'm happy to do the best I can to help you become the best chef in the city."
Hearing this, a smile spread across Jade's face and she folded her arms underneath her bust before turning her head to hide her red cheeks. "Flattery will get you nowhere."
"Maybe you're right," Zach shrugged with a smile and added. "All that matters is your happiness."
Zach was about to leave again, but before he completely vanished from her range of sight, Jade quickly called his name.
"Zach?"
"Hmm?"
"Thanks."
Hearing this, Zach smiled in return but a mischievous smile appeared on his face. "How about thanking me with a kiss and a date when this is all over."
Jade's cheeks reddened and she muttered meekly "I'll think about it."
Zach's heightened senses heard it loud and clear and the sight of Jade being shy was an image he was pleased to see.
He returned to his room while Jade summoned the courage to call her agent.
Jade knew it was late, but Zach had told her to make the call now, knowing that it would be better this way than sending a message to her agent. This would let him know how determined she was to see her plan come to fruition.
"Here goes nothing," Jade steeled herself and dialed her agent's number.
After a few rings, Jade's agent finally picked up. "Hello."
____
Fifteen minutes later, the call finally came to an end and the silhouette of a man seated on a chair could be seen, with his glasses reflecting the light from his computer screen.
Displayed on his screen was Jade's profile.
"Jade Darkmoor," The man repeated, chuckling slightly to himself.
Not once had he heard the words of someone so determined.
It certainly wasn't the first time a client of his had requested a permit, a new cart and cooking utensils, but none of them were able to give a valid reason as to why the culinary guild should listen to their requests.
It would be a lie if the agent said he wasn't impressed.
However, he was also curious to see Jade in person.
After listening to Jade's extensive demands, the agent finally agreed knowing that there was no place for her to hide if everything she explained to him didn't go according to plan.
If Jade ended up being unable to pay, then the guild would confiscate her first five earnings in any of the other guilds she got accepted into.
But if she were to commit suicide, then the guild would shift her debt to her family members instead.
It was simply business and it was the reason why Jade's agent remained calm and relaxed.
With a satisfied grin, the agent resumed his work, anticipating the outcome of one of his clients.
Who knew, maybe Jade would become his best client if everything went according to her plan.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Jade let out a huge sigh of relief with her hand on her chest and a smile on her face.
She couldn't believe how boldly she had presented the plan to her agent, and she was certain that he would be anticipating a positive result with the way she had relayed her plan and vision to him.
Jade placed her phone on the countertop before putting back all the utensils and ingredients she used while cooking.
The moment she was done, she went straight to bed, not wanting to waste any more time.
Tomorrow was going to be a really busy day for Jade, so she had to get as much rest and sleep as she could.
It was currently a few minutes till midnight and while everyone else was asleep in the mansion, Zach was busy creating havoc in all the art galleries in the city.
