From the journal of James Fernandez
I was frozen with fear. I couldn't risk him hurting my daughter but I didn't want to let him get away with this either. He had knife to my daughter. He had all the the power in this standstill, and he knew it.
" I am sorry Señor Fernandez, but as you can see I will do whatever is necessary to get what's rightfully mine. Surely you can understand." He was gloating and taunting. He was testing me and when he caught my muscles tense he pulled my daughter closer.
So we stood there, Señor Diaz, That coward Silveira, and myself. Waiting, waiting for an indication of intent, begging for a reason to act, but absolutely still.
"You don't.." Señor Diaz started.
"Have to do this?!" Silveira boomed. "Of course I do. Do you have any idea what that devils death does for me? She has investments worth billions of pesos, and now she's dead with no other heirs. Her entire fortune is mine."
He had gone completely mad but Señor Diaz had him talking. So I frantically searched the room for an advantage. Anything I could possibly use against him.
James rolls a 6 on an investigation check
Don't know if it was nerves or sweat and tears clouding my eyes but I couldn't spot anything useful in the car. Then suddenly, a voice.
"Hey man, I don't think you should hold someone else's little girl like that.'

It was the American! I don't know if had any clue what was actually happening but he managed to daze Silveira enough with that punch that he stumbled, dropped the knife, and releasedmy daughter. The next series of events happened almost in flashes.
James rolls an 18 on a strength check
I pull my daughter from Silveira's clutches and behind me.
James rolls a 16 on an attack roll
My punch almost missed. I ended up hitting just the very side of his face. Finally Silveira regained some amount of composure and ran. He bulled his way through the American and out the car door. We all pursued him. Following him to the next car. There was Father De la Fe now too lifeless on the ground. In one motion Silveira lept into the air and pushed through the emergency escape. Before I could follow, the American's friend leapt up in pursuit.
I do not know the exact details of their struggle. What I do know if we could hear shouting rumblings from our positions below. After a few minutes we noticed the sound of fighting moving away. I urged the group to stay out while I went ahead. Upon entering the Silveira's car I was greeted by Señora Silveira holding a knife in a vaguely threatening manner.
"My husband may have done evil things but he is not an evil man. He was doing it for me, for us. So our family would be taken care of. Now you and the others are trying to ruin that."
Her speech was cut short by Señor Silveira crashing through the emergency hatch in the ceiling between us with a thud. Señora Silveira screamed and through the knife away running over to her husband as the American's friend dropped down Infront of me.
"Thank you for the help Frankie." I said giving him an acknowledging nod. He nodded back and Frankie, Johnny, and Señor Diaz helped restrain the deranged couple. We then ride out the rest of the ride in peace. Upon arriving at the station in Havana I was able to talk with the local authorities and explain the whole situation. They took the Silveira's into custody and had covered the train being cleaned and repaired. Finally I handed my daughter over to my ex. I got another speech about bringing her and dangerous places. But at least this time it wasn't exactly my fault. I wanted to thank the American and his friend but they both disappeared shortly after the train stopped. Johnny Bravo and Frankie, thank you wherever you are.
