Jaeden noted his trap card, thinking it might tip the scales later, but he had to save it for the right moment.
He looked down at his hand and pulled another card. It was a counter spell, and he already had two in his hand. They were great, some of the best cards to have, but with too many, all he could do was play defense. He needed offensive ability.
So, he discarded two cards and drew another one. It put him at a possible disadvantage because he was eating through his cards faster, but it gave him a chance to pull something else. The next card was exactly what he needed.
Jaeden took the card and threw it onto the field.
“If they’re going to play the mirror game, I’ll show them how it’s done,” he thought.

Jaeden had selected the Infernal Goliath, and as the spell settled over it, it was immediately replicated. The best part about this spell was that it was a continuous spell. Every round, it would duplicate for the number of opponents on the field. With four opponents, suddenly there were four Goliaths, each one with duplicate characteristics. The next turn, depending on if they added any other minions to the field, there would be eight or more, and the duplication would keep increasing until they got rid of it.
Jaeden noticed the King was playing a black deck, and his minion was playing a blue deck. He nodded to the King, realizing the kind of game this was going to be.
It was going to be a bull-rush, shoot-the-moon type of game where they would build up their armies and then have one major attack, and whoever survived would win. These types of games were always dangerous because one wrong play could lead to a devastating sweep by the opponent.
Xander drew and played a card face down, ending his turn.
