Jaeden and Xander continue navigating the seemingly endless labyrinth, following the map they’d found on a skeleton. But after hours of walking and countless turns, they’re no closer to the center, and the maze feels like it’s shifting around them. Growing frustrated, they decide to retrace their steps using the marks Jaeden had left along the way—only to find themselves lost again.
Just as they realize something is wrong with the maze, a new threat emerges: the skeleton they had taken the tablet from reanimates, growing larger and more menacing as it approaches, joined by a second skeletal warrior wielding a massive sword. With no escape, the brothers brace themselves for a fight. The skeletons are relentless, but Jaeden’s quick thinking and combat training allow him to take down one of the towering skeletons with a fierce, acrobatic attack, while Xander picks up a spear and shield dropped by the other.

As they catch their breath, a mysterious figure appears from the shadows, applauding them. Introducing himself as Cicero, the “Twilight King” and master of the labyrinth, he offers them a cryptic game, pulling out a deck of cards and performing hypnotic tricks. Xander seems momentarily entranced, but Jaeden snaps him out of it and firmly declines the offer. Cicero, annoyed by their refusal, threatens to leave them lost in his maze for eternity, hinting that the labyrinth obeys his will. As he begins to vanish into the darkness, Jaeden calls after him in desperation, but Cicero only laughs, fading further from view.
