Turn 21: the Final Turn

Jaeden barely had time to breathe before Cicero lunged forward with a final, desperate cry. But Jaeden was faster. He countered the attack effortlessly, using the Blade of Fates, a card drawn from his arsenal that imbued his next strike with ultimate power.

Blade of Fates

Type: Weapon – Imbuement

Rarity: Mythic

Description: Forged in the fires of destiny itself, the Blade of Fates shines with a brilliance that belies its true destructive power. The sword takes on a razor-thin edge, glowing faintly with a silver-blue light as if it knows the path it must carve. Runes crawl along the blade, shimmering with the power of the future, guiding each strike toward inevitable victory. In the hands of a worthy wielder, the Blade of Fates does not merely cut -it shapes the future with every blow, determining who will live and who will die.

Abilities:

* [Destiny’s Strike]: Grants the wielder +5 Strength and the ability to deal critical damage on every attack for the next 2 turns.

* [Fatal Edge]: If the target’s health drops below 10%, the Blade of Fate delivers an instant killing blow, ignoring defense and armor.

* [Future’s Command]: Once per battle, the wielder may re-roll an attack roll, ensuring that fate is always on their side.

Game Message: “With the Blade of Fates in hand, your enemy’s future is already sealed.”

The Sword of Judgement, glowing now with an ethereal brilliance, pierced Cicero’s defenses.

The King staggered, the Sword plunging deep into his chest. Time seemed to slow as the chaotic energy that had fueled Cicero began to flicker and fade. The Labyrinth, once a realm of endless twists and illusions, faltered. The very walls shimmered, vibrating between existence and oblivion, tethered to the dying King’s life force.

Jaeden twisted the blade, his gaze locked with Cicero’s as the Trickster King’s crown clattered to the ground. His chaotic laughter turned to a strangled gasp, the scepter slipping from his grasp. The light in his eyes dimmed as he dropped to his knees, clutching the gaping wound in his chest.

As King Cicero’s health dropped to zero, another system notification appeared in Jaeden’s view.

Ability Gained: Luck of the Draw

The new ability, Luck of the Draw, complemented his opportunistic nature, allowing Jaeden to affect outcomes dependent on chance. Whether it was in the heat of battle or during the post-battle loot phase, this skill tilted the odds in his favor.

Initially, its effects seemed vague, offering slightly better loot and more favorable random outcomes. But Jaeden knew that as he continued to grow and level up, Luck of the Draw would become increasingly potent, eventually enabling him to pull god-tier items from the most unlikely of sources.

The battlefield fell silent, the dark energies dissipating as the labyrinth began to reset. Jaeden and Xander, battered but victorious, shared a look of triumph.

“Boom,” they said in unison, slapping hands in a victory high-five.
