Chapter 34: Crystal Two.

Chapter 34: Crystal Two.

*Eleina’s POV*

Inside the belly of the beast, and I mean this in a literal sense, it was similar to being in that frog. The only difference being, is that there was a mana crystal inside.

What the fuck? Did this creature consume the mana crystal that it was supposed to protect? How funny…

Anyway, I figure that I have to kill this creature first, before I can deal with the crystal. This thing’s stomach is stupidly huge… Getting out my dagger, I start to dig for, “treasure” if you know what I mean.

I meant that I am looking for this monster’s heart, I mean. Couldn’t be too hard to find, right?

*Some digging for treasure later.*

Dammit… I think that I have been digging around in this thing’s guts for like, a few hours, or something. I still haven’t found its heart yet.

*Thud!*

Huh? Something just rocked my world… And by that, I mean, I think something knocked the monster over. Is it fighting something? Who knows.

I’ll just head back to the mana crystal, and start on the opposite side this time. Once I made it back, I noticed that the crystal looked like I could damage it.

Taking my rapier, I tried to smash the crystal. And it worked! And I felt the rush of mana be pushed into my body. As for the monster, did something kill it? No. This is the biggest monster that I’ve found on this island…

Holyshit… did me digging around its guts kill it? I guess? Well, at least we know now that the saying, “You’re what you eat.” Is a false statement.

If it was true, then this thing wouldn’t have died. Since, you know, I am immortal after all. Petty joking aside, I dug my way out of the monster.

Once outside, apart from the damage that I did to it, while digging myself out of it, it wasn’t hurt at all. Which means that I really did kill it from the inside…

Sweet! Oddly, now that it’s dead, I could see. I guess that thing was making some kind of smog? As for what it looked like, it was an anglerfish like creature. Except, that it had legs. A land fish, huh?

Now that I can see, I could tell that I am in a cavern of some kind. Looking up, I could see where I fell from. Thinking that I could just fly up, I tried doing so, only for magic to not work at all…

The fuck? I dealt with the magic crystal, right? Looking at the cavern walls closer, I finally understood why. The dungeon master of this place, really has a thing for sucking away people’s mana…

Inscribed on the walls, where magic circuits that restrict mana. Granted, these are not that rare, and show up in dungeons from time to time.

But this does mean that I have to manually find my way out… Shit! Oh well. I guess that I should just start walking already…

*Hours later.*

Dammit! I can’t find my way out at all! Sonuvabitch! I already found the thing that I was looking for on this island! Why must I be trapped in it!?

Currently, I am sitting on a random rock, sulking. At least I have some frog jerky to cool my mood off… Aria wasn’t joking about this pouch. I think that there is a year’s worth of frog jerky in this thing… I have to make sure to return this wonderful pouch to Aria when I am done with it.

The frog jerky still tastes amazing, though. Which is great. Now if only I could escape from this place…

Without me noticing, a pair of human like arms wrapped around my waist. Looking back, I could tell that it was a human woman. Her outfit was kinda kinky, though…

Kinkily Dressed Woman: “Little girl… could you perhaps share your food with me?” She asked with a seductive tone.

Eleina: “And what’s in it for me?” I ask back.

Kinkily Dressed Woman: “Dammit! You have the protection of vampires, so my magic won’t work on you…” She said with an annoyed tone.

Eleina: “That so? Anyway, who even are you?” I ask with a curious tone.

Kinkily Dressed Woman: “My name is Rey, if you haven’t noticed, I am a succubus.” She replied with a proud tone.

Eleina: “Nice to meet you, Rey. Now, why do you need my food?” I ask.

Rey: “Do you see any attractive women on these islands? Apart from you, of course.” She said with a giggle.

Eleina: “So, you can’t find anyone to feed off of their sexual energy?” I reply.

Rey: “Correct. Could you give me some food please?” She asked with a pleading tone.

Thinking that the girl was funny, I gave her a handful of frog jerky for her to eat. She must have been starving, since she ate it all very quickly. She even asked for another handful, which I did end up giving to her.

Rey: “Ah, that meat, whatever it was, really hit the spot!” She said with a happy tone.

Eleina: “Why are you here, anyway?” I ask with a curious tone.

Rey: “My wife has been missing for a while. And after doing some digging, I found out that she is on one of these islands.” She explained.

Eleina: “Your wife? Does she happen to be an elf?” I ask.

Rey: “No. She is a Goddess. I know that she is still alive, since her history books still update.” She said with a sigh.

Eleina: “History books? Could your wife perhaps be the Goddess Klee?” I ask with a shocked tone.

Rey: “The very same. She said that she had made a dungeon a while back. I am guessing that these islands are what she created.” She replied.

Eleina: “Why is she trapped in her own dungeon?” I ask.

Rey: “Yeah, I say that she is trapped, but she could have just been living here willingly.” She said with a shrug.

Eleina: “When was the last time that you’ve seen her?” I ask.

Rey: “A few hundred years ago…” She replied with a sad tone.

Eleina: “Is she the type of person to leave her own wife alone for that long?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Rey: “No. Which is why I say that she is trapped. As for why, I have no idea.” She replied.

Eleina: “Did you two get into a fight when you last saw each other?” I ask.

Rey: “No as well. There should be no reason for Klee to avoid me like this.” She said with a sigh.

Eleina: “Okay, well, I plan to deal with this dungeon anyway. If you come along with me, and if Klee is actually here, then you’ll find her.” I say with a confident tone.

Rey: “Awesome! Does that mean you know your way out of this place, and how to deal with the dungeon?” She asked with an excited tone.

Eleina: “There are mana crystals on random islands, destroying them gives back the use of magic. As for this place, I am actually lost…” I say with a slightly embarrassed tone.

Rey: “Well, that sucks… I am also lost in this maze like cavern.” She said with a sigh.

I chatted with Rey for a bit, and found out some interesting information. Klee apparently loves writing, which is why, even if she is trapped, she still writes.

As Klee is a Goddess, she has clairvoyance. Which is why she is able to write down history, even if she is trapped. That is, assuming that she is actually trapped…

As for Rey, Klee and her met many, many years ago. It’s been so long that neither Rey nor Klee actually remember how long that they have been married. Hearing Rey talk about her relationship with Klee, made me very happy.

As to why it made me happy, it was because that I imagined myself in their shoes. Except with Iris, Rena, and I’s relationship. The very idea that we will still be together, even after thousands of years, is a very exciting and happy idea. At least, it is to me.

Thinking back, didn’t Rena say that she can make someone a vampire? I wonder why they haven’t made me a vampire yet? Just another thing to ask them, I guess.

As for right now, after we ate some more frog jerky, we both got up, and started walking. We didn’t have any idea how to get out of this place, so we just picked a random direction to walk in. Of course, a direction that neither of us have gone just yet.
