Chapter 18: Register.

*Eleina’s POV*

Much to my relief, we managed to make it to the academy in only thirty minutes. At least, that’s what they told me. I am from a modern world, with clocks and stuff, do you really expect me to tell time accurately? I can really only estimate it.

My two maids followed me into the school. Surprisingly, they knew where I had to go to register for classes. It wasn’t the auditorium, but a building which only purpose is to register students for their classes. What a blatant misuse of funds…

With only a few hours left, I was in a rush. But I ended up being stopped by a fellow student. Normally, I would have probably just ignored them, due to me being in a rush. But this woman… She had light red hair, and she also had curly hair spirals! She looks just like a villainous noble girl from a manga or something! She even had lackeys!

???: “Commoner! It seems that you’re going to register for classes, yes? I do not know how you got into this prestigious academy, but you should just drop out.” She said with a haughty tone.

Eleina: “Commoner? Why do you think that I am a commoner?” I ask with a confused tone.

Haughty Girl: “I have been raised since birth in the noble Rifta household, my given name is Mary Rifta. You act and walk just a like a commoner, there is no reason to try to hide it.” She said with a proud tone.

Lackey A: “Lady Mary is correct. You should leave, before you stink up this place, commoner.” She said with a disgusted tone.

Lackey B: “Yeah! I bet she slept with one of the teachers, so that she could get into this academy!” She said with a laugh.

Awaa… her lackeys even added their own insults to me. Though it’s not actually true, I am still royalty of this kingdom. Hm… maybe I should mess with her?

Eleina: “You and your lackey’s insults are petty and childish.” I said with a laugh.

Mary: “You… how dare you commoner insult us! You will hang for this!” She yelled.

Eleina: “I doubt that this kingdom will hang their own princess, just because of the words of three random nobles, whom I have never heard of before.” I say with a shrug.

Mary: “Princess? Are you living in dreamland, commoner?” She retorted.

Eleina: “See this badge? It is the Vanetius family crest. Which marks me as one of the three princesses of this kingdom.” I say with a proud tone.

Mary: “Commoner…” She said with a shocked tone.

Oh? Thank God she finally got it, I was beginning to get annoyed.

Mary: “To think that you would go so far to pretend to be royalty. Our words aren’t even necessary, masquerading as pretend royalty is enough to get you executed anyway.” She said with a proud tone, with her lackeys adding more to it.

Lackey A: “Ah, I can’t believe I’ve just witnessed a stupid commoner dig their own grave.” She said with an excited tone.

Lackey B: “We’ll be sure to inform your parents of your death. That is, if you even have parents.” She said with a laugh.

Good lord… now they’re bringing my parents into this? Look, yeah, I don’t have any parents still. At least, I don’t know if the original owner of this body has parents. Even so, talking about someones parents as an insult, this group is very childish…

Eleina: “Would a commoner even have the money to forge such a crest? Not even mentioning trying to get someone to make it for them, which would get the black smith killed as well. Look, my maids have the Vanetius family crest badge as well.” I say while pointing to Vina and Tia.

Mary: “I… I still do not believe this!” She exclaimed.

Eleina: “I do not give a single fuck if you believe me. You’re holding me up from registering for classes, please step aside, or you will regret it.” I say with an annoyed tone.

With my tone, and their reactions from my words, it’s clear that either I am a very uppity commoner, who is too engrossed with their pretend role, or I am really one of the princesses of this kingdom.

The lackey’s, being standard lackey’s, just ditched Mary. As for the noble villainous girl, she looked stock still. And then she fainted. Look, she is pretty cute, you know? So how could I just let her fall like that? As such, I was able to grab her before she fell.

I then picked her up in a princess carry. Only now did I realize something was odd… I was really fast, and also strong… Did I get superpowers from Iris and Rena?

Vina: “Lady Eleina?” She asked.

Eleina: “Do you know where the infirmary is?” I ask with a serious tone.

Vina: “Yes, Lady Eleina, we will guide you to it.” She said with a bow.

It took us only a few minutes to walk to it. Oddly, once again, I wasn’t tired at all from carrying Mary. I could tell that it wasn’t because she was just light either. I was actually really strong…

Vina opened the door to the infirmary for me. Inside there was one medic and no other students. Classes haven’t even started yet, so that is to be expected.

Medic: “What happened?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Eleina: “She passed out.” I reply.

She then helped me put Mary onto one of the patient beds. The medic then looked me all over, and even saw my family crest.

Medic: “The academy hasn’t started classes yet, how did this happen?” She asked with a serious tone.

Eleina: “For a very stupid reason.” I say with a shrug.

I then began to walk out of the infirmary, but then I was stopped by the medic. Vina and Tia were about to attack her, but I called them off with my hand.

Eleina: “Can I help you, miss? I haven’t registered for classes yet, and I do not wish to miss out on it.” I ask with a confused tone.

Medic: “You’re one of the princesses of this kingdom, right? Which means that there is a chance that you will rule it one day.” She said after she let go of my hand.

Eleina: “And?” I ask.

Medic: “You shouldn’t abuse your power. I am just glad that I caught you early.” She said with a relieved tone.

The fuck? Does she think that this is my fault? That pisses me off! And I also fucking hate misunderstandings!

Eleina: “You’re under the wrong impression. Mary was the one who was abusing her power.” I say with a sigh.

Medic: “And I am supposed to believe that?” She replied.

Why the heck are people so happy to argue with nobles? And I am a princess at that… Do I have the wrong impression about nobles in this kingdom? I need to do some research when I have the time…

Eleina: “You can believe whatever you want. I do not care. Mary stopped me, and accosted me, saying that I was a commoner, and that I should just drop out already. I tried to get her to leave me alone, but she wouldn’t. So I had to tell her about who I am.” I say with a fed-up tone and expression.

Medic: “…That still doesn’t mean you can resort to violence.” She retorted.

Eleina: “Your prejudice is glaring. Yeah, I agree that a lot of nobles, like Mary for example, abuse their power. But I am not one of them. I didn’t lay a single finger on Mary at all. After much convincing, she realized that I was who I said that I was.” I reply.

Medic: “…”

Eleina: “Her friends abandoned her, and then she fainted. I could have just let her fall, and walk away, but instead, I stopped her from falling, and then even though I might miss registering for classes, I carried her to this infirmary. I have no more to say to you, good day.” I say with an annoyed tone, before walking out of the infirmary with my maids.

Damn… that was fucking annoying. Fuck trying to find friends in this place, I should just stay alone, or only mingle with Rena and Iris. Since I was in even more of a hurry, Vina picked me up, and flew me to the registry building.

Maybe I was tainted by knowing how many classes people in college take on, but I registered for almost every class. Which includes, history, math, magic, alchemy, general combat, and military tactics. The rest were ones that I was not interested in, like flower arrangement, dancing, and manners.

Eleina: “Ha… I am glad that I didn’t miss the time slot for registering for classes.” I say with a sigh.

Tia: “Yes, it is very good; otherwise, those two might get upset.” She said with a giggle.

Eleina: “Oh shit! Rena and Iris, they missed registering for classes!” I exclaim with a nervous tone.

Vina: “Lady Eleina, it is fine. Their maids registered for them already.” She said with a reassuring tone.

Eleina: “What!? Do you mean to say that I could have just asked one of you two to register for me?” I ask with a shocked expression.

Tia: “That is correct. The reason is…” Her sentence was cut short by my next words.

Eleina: “Because you two thought that it was funny.” I say with a sigh.

Vina: “Ah, Lady Eleina, you know us so well!” She said with a happy tone.

Why are you two so happy that I know that you like messing with me? Think of that, a lady whose maids just mess with her at random times… I am truly pitiful…
