Chapter 20: History is Fun!

Chapter 20: History is Fun!

*Eleina’s POV*

Once the shitty math class was over, I went to the classroom for history. Please, I beg of you! Let this class be fun to learn in! Also, please nothing bad happen! I am probably quickly gaining the reputation of a corrupt noble at this point…

Luckily, history class was so fun! This academy didn’t just teach the history of this kingdom, but the history of this world. Which was vast, it seems.

But the output of new information is very slow. I should hit up the library later, and just read ahead in this class. At least I have something new to learn!

And… just as things were going well, class was stopped. Why? Because the principle showed up. And with some knights as well. What the heck? They aren’t here for me, right?

They were led by a student, I recognize him as one who had attended the same math class as me. He looked quite happy with himself, bringing them all here, and wasting their time.

Annoying Student: “That’s her, principle! She is the lady pretending to be a princess of this kingdom!” He exclaimed.

The knights were then about to apprehend me, before the principle quickly shouted at them not to. Luckily, this dude still remembers me from the opening ceremony. Unlike that fool of a math teacher.

Principle: “You fool! That is Princess Eleina, of the royal family of Vanetius.” He yelled at the student.

Annoying Student: “…”

Principle: “You’re expelled! And you lot, Eleina is truly one of the three princesses of this kingdom. I heard something already happened with one student harassing her, and now even a teacher. Keep in mind, Princess Eleina is very calm. If it was any of the other two princesses, they might as well just raze this entire academy to the ground.” He yelled to everyone.

What? They would burn down the entire school, just because they were insulted? I understand. If they pushed me more, I might have tried… Ah, right, the class continued after the principle left. Like the incident never even happened…

Even if I get a bad reputation, I hope that these incidents spread. At least fewer people will mess with me if they do. The history teacher, she was very professional, and the rest of the class was well taught, unlike the math teacher.

This world actually had a long history, it seems. Sure, I knew about vampires, and other fantasy races, but it’s crazy how all of this history is documented. Huh? Isn’t most of the written history biased toward the winners? No. There are Gods and Goddesses in this world.

The Goddess of knowledge, Klee, is known to smite anyone who lies about history in an official manner. It’s fine it you just tell your friend a lie about history, but if you try to put it in a book as fact, you will regret it. Unless, you have a thing about getting smited by a cute Goddess. Don’t answer that.

To not repeat past mistakes, you must know your history. Klee understood this, so she keeps close record of all that she can, and will deliver history books to various kingdoms. As her pride of a Goddess, all the information she pens down is accurate.

That means that all of the atrocities that a kingdom has committed, is knowledge that is known to anyone who researches history.

This kingdom is considered to be the best kingdom in the world. Although the royalty is reclusive, their policies are all fair. They have never invaded any other kingdom, and any bloodshed was in defense of the kingdom.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Nobles like Mary do exist, but they’re the outliers. Mary must have been poisoned by her parents. This academy has many commoners, and migrants attending it. The rulers of this kingdom have always made every type of person prosper.

How this happens is unknown, not even Klee knows the given ruler of this kingdom at any time. Though, I know that it is Iris, which is why this kingdom has always been so good. As an all knowing Goddess, Klee most likely knows this, but just doesn’t state it.

This kingdom is the best, but it might be destroyed, if they knew that they have always been ruled by the same immortal woman. I mean, they would also be surprised if they realized that she is attending the same academy as them as well…

Once class was over, I didn’t have to stay at this place. I still decided to go to the library, though. But first, I needed to eat some lunch. I think that I skipped breakfast, but for some reason, I only just now got hungry.

Vina: “Lady Eleina, there are many highly rated restaurants in this academy.” She said.

Yeah, yeah. Just continue to read my thoughts on my face…

Eleina: “Any that you two would recommend?” I ask.

Vina: “The Royal Unicorn is most trafficked by female staff and students.” She replied.

Eleina: “That is a thoroughly stupid name for a place to eat.” I say with a sigh.

Regardless, I was now starving, so I asked them to lead me to it. Once inside, it was far different than I thought that it would look like. It was just a normal high class restaurant… What the hell is with the name then?…

I guess that the name was clearly just to attract female customers. The prices were absurd, though… Well, at least I think that they’re absurd. I haven’t really gotten a grip on how much the currency nominations are worth in this world yet.

Wait… I didn’t bring any money at all… Please tell me Vina or Tia brought some money…

Tia: “Lady Eleina, we have money. Why we have it, is because it is your allowance, so do not worry.” She said, somehow realizing what I was thinking.

Eleina: “How much?” I ask.

Vina: “Lady Eleina, your allowance is 1000 platinum coins per month.” Vina replied in Tia’s stead.

They seem to do that a lot… I wonder why?

Eleina: “How much can a thousand platinum coins get me?” I ask with a curious tone.

Vina: “If you wished to buy out this restaurant, you’d need only two platinum.” She replied.

So it’s a fuck ton, got it. Those two truly do like to spoil me. After waiting for a few minutes, we were guided to a private room. I saw the sign at the entrance of this place, a private room cost 50 gold coins. Why was I given one for free? It was 50 gold coins JUST to get into a private room, the food wasn’t included.

Vina: “Ah, I do not think that either of us will ever tire of seeing your reactions, or messing with you. This restaurant is owned by Rena.” She said with a laugh.

Tia: “That’s right. The staff were told about us, the food will be free, and so is the private room. Ah, it is permanently reserved for Rena, Iris’s, and your use.” She said with a laugh of her own.

Eleina: “So that they can take me out to dinner, and drink my blood, and or touch my body, right? Or in short, they just want to flirt with me.” I say with a raised eyebrow.

Vina: “Lady Eleina, your intelligence continues to amaze us.” She said with a clap.

Fuuuuck… The worst part is that she was completely serious. How could someone NOT figure that out? I’m sure that it would only take someone of standard IQ, to figure it out in seconds.

Tia: “The food will be here soon, Lady Eleina.” She said.

Eleina: “Hm? But we didn’t order?” I say with a head tilt.

Tia: “Order? Every time that you will go here in the future, they will just bring out multiple meals of everything from the menu.” She replied.

These two REALLY like seeing my reactions… No wonder the damn table is so big. The booth and the table could easily fit twenty people. Isn’t this all a little too wasteful?

Vina: “This isn’t wasteful at all, as the staff will get the leftover food.” She said.

Eleina: “Can… can you two, Iris, and Rena, read my mind?” I ask with a nervous tone.

Tia: “No. You wear your thoughts and emotions directly on your face. This is a skill that even the short lived humans can learn, but reading what a person is thinking, from just looking at their body language or facial expressions, is decently easy to learn.” She answered.

Vina: “Not even mentioning us, who have lived for well over a few hundred years. As such, we can easily tell what a person is thinking.” She said with a proud tone.

Eleina: “I thought that you two were considered children?” I ask.

Tia: “In vampire years, yes. Though, it would be wise to not ask us, or those two, what our actual ages are.” She said with a giggle.

Yeah, no. I have no intention on upsetting a practically all powerful vampire mother and daughter duo…

The food came minutes later. I’ll be honest, I was greatly surprised by the spread of various meals. Hearing that this was Rena’s place, I assumed that it would only serve steak…

Tia said that the menu was made by Iris, so that’s why. Rena did, in fact, only want to serve steak at this place… Oh! So she came up with the name when she was young, maybe that is why it named so weird? Anyway, enough of those thoughts, it’s time for me to eat!
