Chapter 10: Kidnapped?
*Eleina’s POV*
I don’t recall actually going to sleep… My steak must have been drugged once again. I guess it’s like how you have to trick a dog with food, so that they eat their medicine…
Sitting up from my bed, I could tell that this wasn’t my room. What the heck? All I did was take a little nap… Was I fucking kidnapped!?
Tia: “Good morning, Lady Eleina.” She said with a bow.
Eleina: “Um… Tia? This isn’t Rena’s castle, is it?” I ask with a nervous tone.
Tia: “It is not.” She replied.
Huh? Could you like, I don’t know, try to calm me down? Just answering that this isn’t Rena’s castle, is a little annoying, and doesn’t help my anxiety, you know…
Eleina: “And why was I moved in my sleep?” I ask.
Tia: “Mistresses mother wanted to meet you. Before you complain, Mistress cannot go against her mother. Luckily, she allowed me to go with you.” She explained.
Eleina: “Why does she want to meet me?” I ask with a head tilt.
Tia: “The very scent of your blood is enough to make even a pure vampire go into a trance. That is the reason. Or at least, that is one of the reasons.” She replied.
I wanted to ask more questions, but a beautiful woman came into the room. She was clearly Rena’s mother, considering the situation. The problem is that she would easily pass as her twin sister…
Rena’s Mother: “Hello, my name is Jina, it is a pleasure to meet you, Eleina.” She said with a happy tone while kissing the back of my hand.
Eleina: “Likewise. If I didn’t know that you were Rena’s mother, I would have assumed that you were her twin sister.” I say with a laugh.
Jina: “Hm? Well, aren’t you quite good with your words? How cute… Anyway, Eleina? Please look into my eyes. Rena said that charm magic doesn’t work on you, and I want to confirm this.” She asked.
She brought her face close to mine, and I stared deeply into her eyes. Her eyes were the same enchanting color that Rena’s eyes are. I could tell that she tried charm magic on me, since I felt warm. But apart from feeling comfortable, nothing else happened.
Jina: “Charm magic tends to work on people who haven’t had it used on them before. After a while, it stops working. But it doesn’t work for you at all…” She said with a thinking pose.
Eleina: “There is still some effect.” I say.
Jina: “Oh? What kind?” She asked with a head tilt.
Eleina: “Hm… it’s hard to explain. When you and Rena used charm magic on me, all I felt was warmth, a little floaty, and that I was comfortable. So it still works.” I try to explain.
Jina: “That would be wrong to say. Charm magic, despite how innocent it sounds, is magic that forces someone to fall in love with the user of it. Or to convince someone to do, or think something. Not make them feel comfortable.” She said with a sigh.
Eleina: “Any idea why it doesn’t work on me?” I ask.
Jina: “None at all. No wonder my daughter is interested you. Ah, if only she didn’t mark you… Eleina, you would much prefer living with me over her.” She said with a seductive tone.

Eleina: “Why’s that?” I ask with a nervous tone.
Jina: “Don’t you tire of steak for every meal? Oh, and according to Vina, you were also upset that Rena doesn’t have any good books for you to read. Rena is young, so she only sees her lovers as pets. I would treat you like a person.” She said while playing with my hair.
Jina was clearly trying to seduce me. Either it’s because she looks like Rena, or I am just that easy, but it is actually working… Look, she is smoking hot, she is saying that I won’t have to eat steak anymore, and I get to read. What more could I want?
But before I could accept her tasty proposal, Rena came rushing into the room.
Rena: “Mother! You said that you just wanted to examine Eleina, not try to seduce her!” She yelled with an annoyed tone.
Jina: “Try? I would say that I almost succeeded. You don’t even see her as a person, and I can offer her a far better life than you can.” She said with a smug tone.
Rena: “Sure, I see them as my pets, but mom, you have never married. Ever! You just want to play around with her!” She yelled.
Jina: “Isn’t that a little rude, dear? I do play around, but that is because my true love died.” She said with a raised eyebrow.
Rena: “Exactly! My birth mother passed away, because she wouldn’t let you make her immortal. Why must you touch my things?” She said with a pouty tone.
Damn… she just called me a “thing”… That really hurts my feelings…
Jina: “Did you just call Eleina a thing? You do realize how much that hurts her feelings, right?” She said with an upset tone and expression.
Wow… can I switch to this vampire instead? I don’t know if she is just trying to manipulate me, or she is actually upset that Rena called me a thing…
Rena: “That’s just because I am young!” She retorted.
Jina: “Even if you call them your “pets” you are still neglecting them. If you think that I don’t have spies at your estate, you would be wrong.” She said with a stern tone.
Rena: “And how am I neglecting them? I give them food, and a safe place to live.” Rena said with her arms crossed.
Jina: “That would be fine if they were mindless dogs, but they have their own wills.” She retorted back.
Rena: “That’s… that is something that I will work on. Why are we even arguing?” She said with a sigh.
That’s what I wanted to say!…
Jina: “Because I want to mark Eleina?” She said with a head tilt.
Eleina: “Huh? I am so very, very confused. Jina, didn’t you already tell me your true name?” I say with a sigh.
Rena: “Jina is her human name, so no. But Mother, what do you mean by marking her?” She asked with a serious tone.
Jina: “Duel marking exists, you know. Eleina is special, I am sure that I will end up wanting to marry her. Now, give me your permission.” She demanded.
Rena: “So, you’re upset that I am mistreating Eleina, because you want her?” She asked.
Jina: “Correct. I won’t take her from you.” She replied.
Rena: “Then I agree to the duel marking…” Her sentence was cut off by her mother’s next word.
Jina: “Yet.” She said.
Rena: “Yet?” She asked with a confused expression.
Jina: “If her living situation with you doesn’t improve drastically within a year, then I will take her from you, so that she can live with me.” She answered.
Do I not get any say in this matter? This does concern my life after all…
Jina: “Of course, only if Eleina wishes to live with me. She is her own person, and I will respect her wishes.” She said with a warm tone while looking at me.
What the fuck? Can she read my mind? No. She most be very old, and can figure out what a person is thinking just by their expressions…
Rena: “What is even the point then? She would truly wish to live with me regardless.” She said with a smug tone.
Eleina: “If given the option, I would rather live with Jina.” I say with a nervous tone.
Rena: “Why!?” She said with a shocked tone and expression.
Wow… I didn’t expect her to react like that… Aren’t we just pets to her? I guess I would also be upset if my pet decided to live with someone else…
Eleina: “Rena, we have to eat steak every day. And there is no form of entertainment in your estate at all. Your city also is in shambles. With only the estate being presentable.” I explain.
Rena: “That’s… Look, I have only run that country for 40 years. You can’t expect it to become a utopia within that small amount of time.” She retorted.
Jina: “That is no excuse. It took me only a year to reform this kingdom of mine into a paradise.” She said with a proud tone.
Ah, so I really was in a different kingdom. It was either that, or Jina had a separate villa in Rena’s castle. They must have put a shit ton of that sleeping potion in my steak…
Rena: “Then isn’t this whole thing rigged against me?” She asked with a sigh.
Jina: “Eleina is very intelligent. And according to Vina, she is planning on fixing your country. But she needed your trust and attraction first. Just let her help you.” She replied.
Rena: “Fine… but I don’t agree with this whole thing just yet. We must discuss this further.” She said with her arms crossed.
And with that, they left the room. What else is there even to discuss? Shouldn’t I also be a part of this discussion? I don’t think that it’s because Jina sees me as an object, it’s most likely because she is a queen. Ah, will my head ever stop hurting?…
