Chapter 25: Interruptions!

*Eleina’s POV*

Ah… my entire everything hurts… Iris was NOT joking about last night… It was amazing, but still, we did it for waaay too long. The reason was very simple, like clockwork, they had to leave once again. This time, to actually deal with this kingdom being invaded.

Sure, they could just leave that to their soldiers, but they do not wish to lose any lives without a solid reason. According to Vina, most of the commanders are vampires as well. So it could be that they don’t wish to leave any of their fellow vampires to die.

Well, there are ways for a vampire to die permanently, but not for pure vampires. So they would still be fine, even if they did die. Even still, there is no reason to let them die, when Iris and Rena can deal with the problem faster.

Anyway, when I woke up this morning, apart from the pain in my body, there was a pain in my heart as well. No. Not a heart attack, it’s just that, I woke up, and those two aren’t there to welcome me into a brand new day.

In my old life, the only thing that I was dependent on, was games and novels. Never people, not even my parents. To think that I would feel like this because they aren’t around in the morning, well, I don’t know how to feel about it. Should I be happy that I’ve found two women that I love this much? I guess…

Taking a bath just by myself was also lonely… Ah! Screw it! I can go a few days without seeing them, I swear! I just need to focus on my magic class today.

I was about to leave out the door of our estate, but through the door’s window, I could see a woman standing at the gate. It looked like she was waiting for someone.

Eleina: “Do you two know who that woman is?” I ask with a curious tone.

Vina and Tia then looked out the window with me. They had very interesting expressions show up on their faces. It feels quite good not being on the receiving end this time!

Vina: “Lady Eleina, could you perhaps go to the academy by yourself? We shall show up at a later time.” She asked with a bow.

Eleina: “Sure, I do not mind. I’m guessing that she is the woman who you two took to bed yesterday.” I say with a laugh.

Vina: “…”

Tia: “No comment.” She said.

Eleina: “Huh? If you’re being a prick, then that technically was a comment.” I say with a small laugh.

Tia: “…”

Leaving behind the two cheeky maids, they let the woman in. After getting a better look at her before getting into my carriage, I felt kinda irked. That woman looked sorta similar to me, even with the same hair color… Do they see me in her?…

Ah… let’s just throw that thought process into the trash. I told the driver, who is a maid whose name I do not know, to take me to the academy. But the carriage suddenly stopped.

Tia: “Lady Eleina, we figured that it would be wise for at least one of us to accompany you.” She said with a bow, after she opened the carriage door.

Eleina: “Okay, that’s fine.” I reply with a shrug.

God… Tia looks so damn funny. It’s like I just dragged her away from her lover. Actually, I think that I did… Girl… you have lipstick marks on your face, you know?

Tia: “Lady Eleina, is there something on my face?” She asked with a confused tone.

Eleina: “Yes. You have multiple lipstick kiss marks all over your face. I am surprised at how you were able to get in so many kisses in just that short period of time.” I say with a laugh.

Tia: “…”

The cute vampire maid then blushed greatly, before rubbing the lipstick marks off of her face. Ah… all is right with the world now.

Eleina: “Hey, Tia? Once you compose yourself, I have a question.” I say.

Tia: “Ask away, Lady Eleina.” She replied.

That was quick…

Eleina: “Rena used time magic, and both her and Iris use charm magic. But they only have one element each, how can they use magic like that?” I ask with a curious tone.

Charm magic is an element all on its own called mind magic, and so is time magic. At least, that is what I’ve read. Yeah, I lied. I also looked at the magic books on elements that I don’t have as well.

Tia: “Although there is spatial magic, time magic exists in general magic. Only immortals can use it, though. If a mortal tried time magic through general magic, and not spatial magic, they will just die.” She explained.

Eleina: “I see. What about charm magic?” I ask.

Tia: “Charm magic would normally be in the mind magic category. But charming people is something that vampires can do by default.” She replied.

Wow… that’s super confusing. Damn fantasy world… Why can’t things just be simple? Tia and I chatted for a bit until we made it to the academy.

I was almost late, due to the whole morning situation, so I rushed to the room where magic class was being taught. As I turn the corner, Mary lunged at me with a knife.

Even with me only taking one class with Avenia, I was able to dodge her knife and disarm her, before flipping her on her back. Mary doesn’t seem like the type of girl to work out or get hurt often, so she must be feeling a shit ton of pain at the moment.

Eleina: “Lady Mary? What do I owe the pleasure of you trying to kill me?” I ask with a serious tone.

Mary: “Eleina, you have ruined my life!” She exclaimed before she tried to punch me.

Although I hate to hurt a cute girl, she did try to kill me. So I just punched her in the gut, which knocked her out cold. Aw… and to think that I felt bad about her…

Eleina: “What should we do about her?” I ask.

Tia: “As you were in danger, with the academy badge, the guards will be alerted. They’re most likely already on their way. Lady Eleina, this woman is under the influence.” She explained.

Eleina: “Huh? So she drank a lot of alcohol before coming here?” I ask with a head tilt.

Did she try to drink away her sorrows, or something like that? I honestly doubt that a noble girl like her would end up doing something like that…

Tia: “Ah, my apologies, I meant that she is under the influence of mind magic.” She said with a giggle.

A few minutes later, a bunch of guards showed up. All of them were led by Avenia, which was something that I found to be interesting. Was she the head of the academy guards or something?

Avenia: “Eleina, what happened here?” She asked with a serious tone.

Eleina: “This girl’s name is Mary, when I turned the corner, she tried to stab me with a knife. I dealt with her, but Tia said that she is being controlled by mind magic.” I explain.

Avenia: “If she says so, then it must be true. Do you have any enemies… yeah, you most likely do.” She said with a sigh.

Are you really just going to answer your own question like that? And what do you mean enemies? I have surely been a good girl this entire time, right?…

Eleina: “Huh? I don’t recall pissing anyone off, though?” I say with a head tilt.

Avenia: “Your position, and your magical power, are more than enough reasons for someone to want you dead.” She replied.

Eleina: “That sucks…” I say with a sigh.

Avenia: “That it does. We’ll take care of Mary. Breaking mind magic isn’t that hard of a thing to do.” She said with a sigh of her own.

With the help of the guards, only the female ones, they helped Avenia carry Mary away. Even though she did try to kill me, I hope she gets the help that she needs.

Ah… I am so fucking late for magic class now… Would they try to chew out an actual princess? Only one way to find out…
