Chapter 12: Second Chance?

*Eleina’s POV*

It has been a week since that day. I feel as though my second life has only just started. At Iris’s estate, I was given very tasty food every day. Not to mention, all of the books that she has. She even let me read any of the books that I wanted to read.

There are other women in this estate. Though, they aren’t Iris’s lovers. They’re more like her sex friends. She still pampers them a lot, though. But it’s clear to both me and them, that Iris treats me differently.

She has not asked me for sexual favors, nor has she asked me for my blood. The respect and love that she gives me, is different than her sex friends. I feel as though she sees me as not only a real person, but also as her equal.

Which is a stark difference from how Rena sees me. I always felt like she didn’t even see me as a “pet” but more as a toy. Like me, she gave all of her other pets the bare minimum that they needed to survive, and nothing more than that.

Speaking of Rena, I have not seen her for an entire week. Oddly, a day after Iris told me her name, all of Rena’s pets showed up at Iris’s house. She doesn’t seek their blood or bodies, it’s more like she is taking care of them for Rena.

When I asked about Rena, Iris, nor the maids, would tell me where she is. That was, until now. Currently, Iris and I are relaxing on lawn chairs, right next to her lake.

Iris’s kingdom is far more advanced than Rena’s. It truly looked like a fantasy city. And it was completely full of life and vibrancy.

Iris: “Do you know how a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly?” She asked.

Eleina: “Yeah? It forms a cocoon around itself, and then molts into a butterfly. Why ask that?” I reply.

Iris: “Rena has done something similar, just minus the cocoon.” She said with a giggle.

Eleina: “What does that mean?” I ask with a head tilt.

Iris: “Has anyone ever told you that your head tilts are quite cute? Oh, basically, she went into seclusion for a while. With only her mind to focus on, she has been reevaluating her views on life.” She explained.

Eleina: “So she locked herself in her room until she finds out the answers she is looking for?” I reply.

Iris: “That makes it sound like she is throwing a tantrum… Truly, I am upset that she ran away, without saying sorry to you. I am just glad that she will stop seeing you and her lovers as just pets.” She said with a sigh.

Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Tia either… I wonder why? Thinking this, Rena and Tia showed up at the lake. They approached us, and Rena looked at me with a remorseful expression on her face. So did Tia.

Tia: “I shall go first.” She said with a bow.

Eleina: “What?” I say with a confused expression.

Tia: “Lady Eleina, I was not aware that your food was spiked with the truth potion. I just delivered it. Regardless, I failed as your maid for not checking to make sure it was safe. As such, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry.” She said with a remorseful tone while still continuing to bow.

Eleina: “You didn’t know, so it’s fine.” I say with a shrug.

Now it was Rena’s turn. As I have already said, Rena looked to be quite remorseful. On top of looking remorseful, she also looked somewhat upset.

Rena: “Eleina, ever since you have came to this world, I have mistreated you. My sins are far greater than Tia’s. I have done some self reflecting and I know that I have hurt, and neglected you, as well as my other lovers, in many ways.” She said with a sad tone.

Eleina: “I can’t speak for the other girls, but I would say that I have been mistreated by you a decent amount.” I reply.

Rena: “I ask of you to give me a second chance. I no longer see you all as my pets, but as people. If you do not wish to give me a second chance, that is fine, and is your right to deny me.” She asked with a bow.

Iris: “Want to know something funny? All of her lovers didn’t give her a second chance. Don’t give her a second chance, just stay with me!” She jokingly whispered to me.

Well… the last part was a joke, I’m sure. But did they really all leave her? That must have been shocking… The harem she spent so much time collecting, gone…

Eleina: “If I give you a second chance, will anything truly change?” I ask with a serious tone.

Rena: “Yes. I swear on my pride as a vampire! Though, it will be a learning experience for me. As such, I will be enrolling into the academy in mother’s kingdom. That way I can understand how people are.” She replied.

Eleina: “Fine… I’ll give you a second chance. But it will be your last chance.” I say with a serious tone.

Rena then ran up to me and gave me a hug. It only now dawned on me how much I missed her. Was it due to the mark? I don’t know. All I do know is that her hug felt nice.

Rena: “Thank you! You won’t regret this, I swear!” She exclaimed.

Iris: “I feel like you forgave them too easily.” She said with a sigh.

Rena: “Hush Mother! You just wanted her to not forgive me, so that you could have her all to yourself.” She said with a pout.

Iris just shrugged rather than reply. After that, some maids carried another lawn chair out to us, so that Rena could sit with us. We then chatted for a bit.

Apparently, the women that Rena kept as pets, will be living here in Iris’s estate. They don’t have to do anything, and can just relax. Something that Iris said were reparations for how Rena treated them.

Rena was clearly upset that none of them decided to stay with her. But she didn’t try to force them to change their minds. If it was the Rena from before, she probably would have tried to use charm magic on them, to get them back. But this time, she didn’t.

Which is why I think that she changed, at least somewhat. The conversation we had was very fun. I originally thought that Iris and Rena had a strained relationship. But that wasn’t the case at all.

Look! They even looked at each other for a solid minute before nodding. And what’s this? Both of them took one of my hands each, and are now guiding me somewhere?

Oh, they took me to my room. I wonder why? Huh? They asked me to sit on my bed? Okay… I did just that. Oh? Now they both got on my bed?

With iris to the left of me, and Rena to the right. What their intentions are, they’re very clear. They want to take my virginity! Or… maybe my blood? No wait, they clearly want both! Ah… those seductive lust filled eyes. They appeared to look even more arousing after they started to sniff my neck.

There is no way in hell that I am getting out of this one… I need to mentally prepare myself! Though, it’s not like I don’t want them to drink my blood… Honestly, I want them to touch me as well…
