Chapter 64 - Demon Whale

Chapter 64 - Demon Whale

BOOM!!!

Mira was just a few meters away, watching with wide eyes and clenched fists as her master fought. She wished to help, but at the moment, it was futile. However, her determination was even stronger. Mira understood that she couldn't rely solely on a single style or technique; if she had honed her skills in armed combat, she would still have the ability to fight.

Zane, now facing the Infernal Beast, advanced with his fists. A brutal fight unfolded, with powerful and swift blows being exchanged, making the ground shake.

His fists hit the beast with surprising force, causing cracks in the runes that composed it. It was as if he were fighting against an ethereal entity, almost without a defined form, but its attacking power was far from light. Zane and Gael's physique, however, was alarmingly resilient; they no longer seemed human but rather beasts themselves.

Each blow echoed like thunder in the prison, stirring the Infernal Laws around. The beast tried to retaliate with sharp claws and bursts of infernal energy, but Zane skillfully dodged, responding with even more fury.

Mira watched, sighing in awe and a bit fearful, as her master transformed into something beyond human. They seemed to embody the essence of the FiendGod's Hegemony technique, an ancestral force transcending mere humanity. Their figure, now shrouded in a bloody aura, emanated a dominating and unstoppable presence.

"We've only completed the Flesh Training of the body cultivation. But the power of FiendGod's Hegemony is really on another level. If we had something like this in our universe, things would have been a lot smoother," Gael commented, surprised.

The beast then seemed to show some intelligence; its steps began to move backward, fearing for its existence. It was then that it saw Zane's sinister smile in its direction and instinctively felt that it had chosen the wrong target.

Their blows intensified. That beast wouldn't stand a chance of escape. The Infernal Beast, powerful as it was, began to show signs of fragmentation in its runes under the relentless attacks. The fight lasted just over five minutes, and then the entire existence of the beast exploded in all directions.

Zane and Gael felt that avalanche of laws flooding their bodies. They didn't realize it, but that practically doubled the amount of laws in their totem. Seconds later, they turned to Mira, and she ran to them, raising her arms. Then, she returned to her place on high.

"Did we accumulate too much? I think we should reach the Demonic talent level when we leave," Gael commented fearfully. "Only ten minutes left. I think we've left the area where humans should dwell. Let's just stand and..."

They immediately jumped to the side, and an attack pierced the ground where they were. "Damn, they won't stop chasing us," Gael commented astounded.

"This time, it's not just one... damn, it's better to run. It seems like we're really in a different area, there are dozens of people running toward us without hiding their intent."

Stolen story; please report.

Two minutes later, they were running or trying with all their might. But they were surrounded several times, and blood began to flow everywhere. "Where are the Infernal Beasts? Why are only these bastards chasing us?!" Zane exclaimed, putting Mira back on his shoulders after she finished off another cultivator.

"It seems that in this prison, the cultivators have already killed all the Infernal Beasts... we only encountered that beast from before... damn, that should be the most powerful, and that's why everyone avoided it."

Zane and Gael were like a giant, bright beacon throughout the prison. Their totem emanated limitless power; everyone stopped what they were doing and decided to attack. Some even formed groups and joined forces.

Everyone's goal was to absorb the Infernal Laws. However, halfway through the test, almost all the weak and medium beasts had already been killed. All were malevolent cultivators, extremely aware that the only method was to kill competitors and absorb the Infernal Laws directly from them.

The duration was one hour, a significant constraint. After the mission, the board converted the laws in the totem and created the symbol within the bodies of the approved cultivators. The amount harvested defined the cultivator's talent level, as well as the resources and value that their chosen sect would give them. There was very little time left in the test; if they killed this big target, there wouldn't be time for others to focus on them.

Everyone within the first prison converged on the hunt for the large, round whale.

Every minute, dozens and dozens of bodies fell into a river of blood. Zane and Gael were completely numbed by the Infernal Laws incessantly penetrating their minds. Their last bit of consciousness was used to activate Mira's necklace. There was less than a third of the power of the laws of the earth inside. They activated everything and created a protective layer, firmly trapping and shielding her close to them.

It was then that they decided to indulge in the pleasure and desire of the massacre arising from these laws. Cultivators running toward them suddenly began to feel something strange in the air. Several meters away, they saw only bloody pieces flying through the skies.

Even those malevolent cultivators who had killed enough to stop counting were frightened by that violence and destruction. Some saw something move in the mist and glimpsed a demonic beast that stared at them with extreme bloodlust. Then, with its own hands, the beast turned everything into a pool of blood.

With only a few minutes left, the surviving cultivators were no longer running toward the demonic whale-shaped beast. They were fleeing desperately because it wasn't a fight; it was a massacre. They barely had any physical ability to fight, but this whale-shaped beast killed them as if crushing an insect.

But... they had already run with their own legs into the mouth of that demonic whale.

There weren't any Foundation Establishment Realm participants. Everyone was in the Qi Gathering Realm. Zane and Gael were already in the Ninth Stage of the Qi Gathering Realm, which was the last one, and even completed the second level of the Fiendgod's Hegemony Body Cultivation Technique. Simply put, any of the participants who attacked them in this test were only asking for death.

With two minutes left, Zane and Gael stood there with eyes completely red and thirsty for more... However, without realizing it, almost all the cultivators who would be approved were brutally massacred... by themselves.

Suddenly, with one minute left, their consciousness returned gently after absorbing all the Infernal Laws from everyone. The first thing they did was to look at their chests and see a thick layer of earth laws holding Mira to their bodies. They released her since she was perfectly fine. They could see her eyes shining with excitement as she looked at them.

Then Zane and Gael felt a fluctuation and quickly turned in a certain direction. With a punch, a large tree was swept away, along with a lot of soil.

There, they saw something strange on the ground: about ten people looking at them in despair. They were all men with fluorescent slave marks on their foreheads. In the center was another imposing figure crouched down with a tense expression.

Soon, some curves in the busts were visible. It was a female figure. She was two meters tall. Her skin was green, and her hair was long and tied up. It was exotic, but she wasn't ugly at all.

"A mix of ogre with a beast and human," Gael commented.

She was the leader and came accompanied by these men. Soon, Gael and Zane understood. She survived because she hadn't tried to attack them before. Instead, she did exactly what they wanted to do from the very start but failed to achieve. She managed to kill some beasts and hid with her slaves.

Zane and Gael just snorted, and Mira gripped her dagger, ready to move at any moment. The woman was tense and scared, looking mainly at her slaves in despair.

"She seems a bit decent for a malevolent cultivator. She genuinely doesn't want her slaves to die," Zane sarcastically commented.

It was at that moment that the world shook, and a dense gray Qi covered them all. It was the end of the test.
