The ground was stained with a profusion of blood, and cries of despair echoed incessantly. It was then that Mira, clenching her fists, spoke calmly.
"Master, I understood everything you told me. However... I want to stop them." Her words started hesitantly but, looking at Zane, gained a firmer tone.
"Stop them? What do you really expect? Do you believe that these cultivators will be driven away and be afraid to attack again?" Zane interjected sharply.
"Suppose you have the skill to kill them, but you don't. When they attack again, the karma generated will be equally distributed to you. There's no room for mercy in the cultivation world. Absolutely no showing leniency when drawing your blade. Don't try to act with some kind of noble character, humanity, forgiveness, or hope to reform them."
Mira remained frozen for a moment while Zane and Gael watched her closely. 'She finally understands reality. She needs to kill, kill, and never stop if she wants to live,' Zane spoke mentally.
Gael commented, 'Well, it will be difficult for her to accept and take a human life for the first time... we were quite shocked when we arrived from Earth in the beginning. If she were sober and calm, I would really be worried.'
After a few minutes of reflection, Mira clenched her fist and pulled out a large dagger hidden in her clothes. "I won't show mercy," she declared firmly. Then, the gazes of Zane and Gael lit up.
At the city's epicenter, a pile of bodies accumulated in a corner. Around this pile, several circles and runes were engraved on the ground by a man completely shrouded in a black robe.
More bodies were brought and stacked after the man finished the preparations of a corrupt formation. He then simply waited, observing the surroundings as screams reverberated from all sides, and a sense of ecstasy ran through his mind. Everything was going as planned, and soon it would all be over.
As he sensed the surroundings, he noticed a strange fluctuation in the air. Suddenly, the dark world, illuminated only by the red flames of death and destruction, changed completely.
It was as if a new sun had risen high; everything fell silent, and the world was filled with a violet hue. An extreme shock ran through the body of the man; he couldn't even breathe in the face of that strange phenomenon. Instinctively, all his Qi at the first level of the Foundation Establishment Realm circulated fiercely, and then, he discovered a subtle energy being expelled from his meridians. What shocked him wasn't it being expelled, though. Instead, it was the fact that this violet energy entered his body without him noticing.
That event didn't last even a second. However, it was then that a sudden frenetic vibration passed by. Following that, a violet wave covered the entire sky and Earth. The expressions of the corrupt cultivators changed as they felt dazed as the world began spinning around them.
Suddenly, the completely bewildered man noticed a lotus on the ground. Inside it, a small girl could be seen. Then, the girl opened her eyes, and a pure and dense violet color emerged in her pupils. Her expression was like that of a little fairy who descended to the mortal world. Forming hand seals and gently opening her mouth, an invisible wave spread rapidly.
Stolen story; please report.
Everyone entered a state of dizziness and intense disorder, but they were still experienced cultivators. Soon, they managed to focus their minds on that intruder and threatened to advance.
However, it was at that moment that they felt their feet unwilling to leave the ground. Looking down, they saw earth runes firmly covering their feet. They were physically stuck, while their minds and bodies were in complete chaos.
Another second passed when one of the cultivators, in a last desperate flicker, tried to release all his Qi. However, this desperate attempt was his last, and his vision plunged into darkness.
A fountain of blood spurted upward, followed by the unmistakable sound of a head colliding with the ground. All eyes turned to the spot where the little girl remained, with a dagger in hand and the blood of the cultivator staining her clothes.
She stood there motionless, her gaze stern and serious. Then, the ground shook as a giant fell from the sky. About fifty people witnessed that strange figure and only one thing crossed their minds: 'Is that... a human?'
Another second slipped away, and a new river of blood began to flow on that land. The round and colossal whale, wielding a heavy axe, advanced, and with each strike, half a dozen bodies were annihilated.
The Foundation Establishment man, distant from all the carnage, watched everything without being able to process what was happening. When he realized, a mere five seconds had passed. When he finally took a step forward... everything was over. All his subordinates were brutally massacred.
"What the hell... how is this possible?" He couldn't believe his own eyes. There was no fight; everyone was suddenly caught by a power that seemed to arise from nowhere, like poison penetrating their meridians and stunning their souls. Then, faster than his mind could process, a giant Orc emerged and slaughtered everyone at an unbelievable and efficient speed.
Fear and shock clouded his mind, and it took him a few seconds to sense the cultivation of those invaders. When he finally realized, his jaw almost dropped. The little girl was only at the third level of the Qi Gathering Realm, and the Orc was at the ninth level. They were much weaker than him!
Zane and Gael walked towards Mira, who remained still and serious in front of the decapitated body. "Good job. Rest, and let me handle it." Zane's chubby hand touched her hair, and with a shudder, she passed out.
They moved her to a cleaner spot, and then their attention turned back to the shocked man in the distance. Half of their Qi was burned in that move. Mira didn't have enough Qi to cause such a disturbance, so they gave her their own Qi.
She didn't disappoint; only a small part of everyone's soul was subtly sealed. Having one's soul sealed even a little could cause a sudden shock to cultivators unaccustomed to soul attacks.
This bought them enough time to eliminate everyone. After all, they were all between the 6th and 9th levels of the same realm. With their minds affected, Qi didn't circulate properly, creating obvious openings for experienced killers like Zane and Gael. A few moves were made, and dozens of bodies were turned into bloody pulp.
Zane and Gael walked slowly toward the hooded man. Then, a red glow escaped from those darkened eye sockets of the man wrapped in the black cloak.
'With our physical level, someone at the first level of the Foundation Establishment Realm won't even be able to penetrate our skin,' Zane commented in a mocking tone. 'Resolve this quickly; we're already hungry. And we have to prepare our own food today.'
Gael nodded without much emotion. He had already seen the formation that this man had created, a blood refinement formation? They were experts in that. Therefore, this cultivator didn't pose the slightest threat as he must have some mastery over the Yin laws of death.
The man took off his entire black cloak. He was thin, so thin that he looked skeletal. Gael understood immediately: that was a kind of technique to condense the power of flesh into the bones, making them even harder than weapons.
'A body-focused cultivator? It'll be even quicker than I imagined,' Gael thought, taking a step forward.
Suddenly, the air changed. Something unsettling invaded Gael's nostrils and senses. It was as if his mind were being provoked by something.
He halted his steps and looked forward, shocked. The man was floating lightly in the air as a crimson mist permeated his entire being. His eyes changed from blood-red to something unnatural.
'What the hell is this... we've never seen anything like it.' Gael and Zane were agitated and incredulous.
Following that, a dense shadow emerged silently on the man's back, extending like a pair of dark wings. Gael and Zane felt an even more unsettling sensation; they were facing something beyond their comprehension.
The man then erupted into a supernatural power, wielding a black saber that shimmered with a malevolent aura. His strike descended ruthlessly upon the two, leaving them stunned.
BOOM!!!
The resounding blast echoed through the city's confines, shaking its foundations. A cloud of dust rose, shrouding the landscape in a veil of darkness.
Seconds later, as the dust began to settle, a desolate scene revealed itself in the northernmost part of the city. A giant hole in the wall lay gaping open. Amidst the rubble of shattered stones, a colossal figure, completely bloodied with several bones exposed, lay fallen.
