'Damn! We failed!' Gael lamented mentally, incredulous.
They watched the barrier crack completely until every inch of it was covered, on the verge of collapsing. But that power was still active.
Zane and Gael remained stunned because it went far beyond the capacity of the barrier. Even with the formation and the seal used as a shield, along with all the Yin and infernal laws that Zane managed to master, it wasn't enough. They were seconds away from death.
'This power... was it a remnant of the soul of that beast?!' Gael concluded in shock. 'That beast had a cultivation almost in the divine realm to have such a powerful soul.'
When the souls of Zane and Gael were complete, and well, they could destroy an entire ascending planet just with their power. But it would cost all their energies, and they could disappear forever. The current power of this explosion, on the other hand, could only cause a local disaster with a fragment. Still, it was surprising, leaving them in awe.
'Let's try something.' Zane said, out of options. Then, all their earth runes were activated to the limit, covering the barrier.
Silent seconds passed, with them anxious. To their surprise, the barrier did not collapse. When everything seemed to calm down, the earth runes turned to dust, and the other runes of the barrier immediately crumbled.
'This... did the laws of the earth really help stop it?' Gael was astonished.
Zane replied, also incredulous, 'Maybe... Do you remember how our bloodline suddenly flared up when we were walking in the direction of the formation? From the looks of it, that reaction was due to this Soul Fragment that just exploded. It must have something to do with it.'
Then, the whale felt a trembling squeeze in his hands. Mira was trembling, and her eyes were moist. Zane and Gael sighed; fate was cruel when it was in shortage. They looked at Zanou, who had his eyes closed, breathing deeply in extreme pain, but the plan seemed to have worked. As for Langrum...
The dust settled slowly, and everything around several kilometers became a large, open, and devastated area. Then, they felt Mira floating, using all her mental power, completely focused on finding Langrum.
The whale sighed again, and they observed in the distance a bloodied mountain. It was the lifeless Wyvern; even it died easily.
"It's no use..." they began to say when they were interrupted by the excitement exploding in Mira.
"She's alive!" Mira shouted, pointing to the distant meat mountain.
Zane and Gael focused on feeling something and were surprised to notice a small trace of life coming from the Wyvern's corpse's direction.
'She... used the Wyvern's hard body to protect herself... Because they were too far away, the power of the explosion was diminished. The Wyvern didn't survive, but its body was still hard enough to protect an ant behind it.' Zane commented, surprised.

'She acted quickly, and her fate was there. Great...' Gael also commented when a new power pulsation emerged from that same point.
'What? The Wyvern still has power?' Zane was shocked.
'It will still take a few seconds to get up. QUICK, BRING LANGRUM HERE!' Gael exclaimed.
Zane sighed and focused on the formation; it was almost completely destroyed, but it could still be used once or twice for small things.
Another spatial pulsation, making the world vibrate, came from the distance where Langrum was located. Then, the space near them warped, and a completely red figure emerged. Mira jumped and grabbed the unconscious woman, who seemed to be taking her last breaths. Then, the whale brought her close to them.
They turned to the area where they had initially seen that blue point, and it pulsed once again. To their surprise, that Soul Fragment, even after it exploded, still hasn't disappeared. It was still there. This time, looking at it, Zane and Gael felt their behemoth bloodline tremble once again!
'It seems like a calling...' Zane commented, sighing. 'We can go back now and count it as a success. But... I feel like we'll lose something very important, and we may never be able to recover it.'
Gael felt the same way. Their instincts were warning them very clearly, and those two drops of Behemoth blood running in their veins seemed to beg them not to escape.
'The Wyvern is gathering power. If we delay, there will be no turning back.' Gael commented thoughtfully.
'Are you afraid to take risks? What happened to no risks, no gains?' Zane said sarcastically.
Gael didn't respond and just focused, activating their bloodline to the limit. Their bloodline hasn't recovered even a third of its strength yet, and the earth laws they used in the barrier consumed even more of its power. Still, a subtle brown aura illuminated their eyes.
Then, they took steps towards that blue point. Suddenly, the world froze. That remnant of a soul couldn't have any intelligence or will because it was so faint, but Zane and Gael felt as if two frenetic eyes were focused on them at that moment.
The destructive power ceased, and the air seemed to warm up slightly with hope. "It is resonating with our bloodline. Is it recognizing us as equals?" Gael commented.
Then, a new wave of extreme power exploded on the horizon. They immediately looked to that place, and a beast radiating malevolence and malice spread its wings, which seemed to devour all light and life.
'The other Wyvern...' They both thought at the same time.
'If we run away, we'll lose a lot.' Zane sighed.
'So, we won't run away! Take that thing out. It's worth even more than it.' Gael spoke dryly.
From the skies, the male Wyvern saw his fallen and lifeless companion. His eyes reflected the slave seal attached to his bloodline. It had been active for a few seconds, and he had been flying as fast as he could, but he was far away. He still maintained some consciousness, but now he didn't need that seal to command him. All his power exploded in full force, hatred that couldn't be extinguished.
All the light within the fifth level was immediately devoured. Death covered the skies, all laws were suppressed, and the Yin of death consumed everything, further increasing its power. Nothing else mattered to that Wyvern; only killing and destroying were in its mind.
That's when he felt a small round point approaching, a small and fragile ant. It held a gleaming hammer, and in its eyes, he saw only an infinite and malevolent abyss. The Wyvern felt all its Yin laws become agitated; that was the enemy. He suddenly opened his gigantic mouth. Then, the full power of his essence was triggered. It was the characteristic blow of a Dragon, and the Wyvern's thin bloodline seemed to light up, returning to its origin. It was about to use a Dragon Breath!
The whale smiled even more maliciously. Then, in front of it, a bloody rune the size of a head emerged from space. It was the same bloody rune they obtained from the Divinestone Clan! The one they couldn't consume due to its overwhelming power!
"Swallow this!" The whale roared with overwhelming ferocity, channeling all its power into a single blow unleashed by the hammer.
The bloody rune shone like the last breath of dusk, and it was propelled with immense force toward the Demonic Wyvern, cutting through the skies with its sinister brilliance.
Within the abyss prison, on all levels, all forms of life felt an overwhelming initial impact, knocking them to the ground in deep fear, as if the very end of the world were unfolding. This moment seemed like an eternity, and then life seemed to return to their bodies. However, in the next moment, the earth trembled again.
BOOM!!!
A wave of bloody devastation ruthlessly swept across the entire fifth level of the prison. Mira witnessed every detail, recognizing the bloody rune that she herself sealed inside the Divinestone Clan. Now, she saw it unleashed in an unexpected way.
The vibrations of the massive power made Zanou open his eyes, and even Langrum seemed to awaken briefly. Both saw in the skies a sinister rain of black blood and flesh, covering the entire horizon and falling upon everyone like a dark storm. That blood and flesh hit them immediately, plunging them into total disbelief at the rampant carnage.
A few seconds later, the round and blood-covered figure took steps back towards them. 'What a waste... Well, at least we got a Wyvern corpse.' Zane commented.
It was then that, as they approached, they felt something even stranger. There was no sound or apparent change, but it came from that floating blue point, the still active soul fragment.
'He's... looking at us with approval?' Gael murmured, surprised.
