Chapter 167 – Aya’s Danger

Chapter 167 – Aya’s Danger

Aya crouched down stealthy and observed her enemy. A giant bird was circling in the sky, searching for Aya’s location.

Unfortunately, no matter how good she was at hiding, she could not hide from the extraordinary sight of the bird. The bird simply observed its prey from above while waiting for the opportunity to attack.

Aya knew that her situation was bad. The bird was likely a level-three beast, and its strength was incredible. To be honest, the only reason that Aya was still alive was thanks to the body-enhancement drug she used before entering this planet and the help of Lily.

… Actually, Lily was the biggest reason she was still alive.

Two days after entering this planet, Lily leveled up to level-three. Aya was very surprised about it, but thanks to that level-up, their time on this planet was not so bad. Besides the lack of clothes, a bed, and a bath, she was alright with everything else. Even insects were not a problem if you slept in the branches of the trees.

Unfortunately, her luck quickly ran out.

Tonight, when Aya was ready to sleep, Lily noticed the presence of a bird in the sky.

At the start, Aya did not pay it much attention, but quickly, she realized that something was wrong.

The bird was circling the sky above her.

Moreover, she could feel that it was emanating a strong killing intent.

Without hesitation, Aya got ready to fight. It was not her first time being attacked, so she was not nervous.

But when the bird attacked for the first time, Aya realized how naïve she was.

The bird... It was incredibly fast.

Its body was covered in lightning when it pounced towards her. It reached in front of her in less than one second.

It was almost as fast as Aleen. The only reason she was able to avoid its attack was that she had seen Aleen’s skill before, so she had experience against high-speed movements.

However, her pitiful experience only allowed her to avoid the first attack.

When the bird attacked for the second time, she was too slow to move.

Fortunately, Lily ambushed the bird at that moment, giving it an injury and saving Aya.

The bird screeched angrily after being injured by Lily and returned to the sky, however, it did not run away. Instead, it seemed even more determined to chase after them.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Lily and Aya could only escape and try to find a place to hide from the bird. Although Lily injured the bird, the bird still had an advantage against them. The bird could fly and observe their every move. It could attack and retreat at will, but Lily and Aya could not. Their only option was to wait until the bird attacks to counterattack, but the bird was already wary of Lily after being injured once.

So, they could only continue running while the bird circled above them.

The chase continued during all the night, and Aya was already beginning to become tired.

At that moment, she heard a beep.

Aya’s eyes opened wide. Quickly, she grabbed the transmitter than Leona gave her and noticed that it was beeping and flashing repeatedly.

Aya hesitated for a moment, before deciding to follow the signal. Although the transmitter could not show Aleen’s exact direction, it could give her an approximate direction.

The bird was strong, but Aya was confident that between her, Aleen, and Lily, they could defeat it. After all, Lily was already level-three, and Aleen was a very powerful level-two, even faster than the bird.

Unfortunately, Aleen’s location was still far away.

After one hour, Aya had not met Aleen yet. The transmitter was flashing more quickly than before, so she knew that Aleen was close, but she did not know how close he was.

Aya wrinkled her brows.

Her reserves of mana were running out. If she continued like this, she would spend all her mana before long.

A look of struggle flashed through her eyes for a moment, but in the next second, she put on a determined look. Aya looked towards Lily and told her something with her mind.

“Meow~” Lily waved her paws and disappeared in the shadows. Aya then stopped running and looked up at the bird.

Now, she only had to wait until Aleen reached her.

Aya trusted that Aleen would come to find her. No, she hoped that Aleen would come to find her.

She and Aleen had been acquittances for less than two weeks, but Aya already had developed a strange kind of trust in him.

‘If it’s him, he will definitively come! Aya reaffirmed in her heart and prepared herself to face the bird.

The bird continued looking at Aya from the sky. It had lost sight of the cat, but it knew that it was nearby, waiting for an opportunity to attack.

But as a proud overlord of the sky, how could it fear a small ball of fur?

So, when it saw the look of provocation on Aya’s face, it decided to attack.

“Screeech!!!” With a cry of fury, the bird waved its wings and descended towards Aya.

In an instant, the bird’s entire body was enveloped in lightning. It extended its claws towards Aya in a try to tear her into pieces.

However, Aya jumped aside in the last second and evaded the attack. At the same time, a silvery-dark shadow jumped from behind the bird and attacked it!

However, it would not fall twice for the same trick!

Before Lily’s claws could touch its feathers, the bird yelled loudly.

“Screeeeech!!!”

Instantly, a bolt of lightning fell from the clouds.

Lily realized that something was wrong. She tried to move away from the bird, but her speed could not be compared to a bolt of lightning.

The next second, the bolt of lightning hit the bird.

Then, the lightning spread to the surrounding.

“Meow…” Lily groaned in pain. The bolt of lightning sent her flying away, gravely injured.

“Lily!” Aya cried and ran towards Lily, however, the wing of the bird slashed towards her at that moment.

Aya opened her eyes wide and used her metallic claw to block the attack, but the strength of the wing sent her flying.

“Screeech!” The bird yelled in pride. It looked at the pitiful girl and opened its beak ready to devour its prey.

Three things happened at that moment.

A gigantic shadow pounced towards Aya with its mouth open.

The transmitter on her clothes flashed repeatedly, as though it wanted to inform Aya that someone was nearby.

And a bolt of lightning cut through the night.
