Chapter 150 – E-39 (2)

The next day, Aleen and Aya were guided to an enormous hall.

When they arrived at the hall, they noticed it was filled with people. They were around one hundred other people seated in the hall, all of them of different forms and shapes.

Aleen saw humans, elves, a demon-like person, a gigantic man, a green-skinned beautiful girl, a man covered in a strange suit, and many other different and strange people. He counted around forty different races.

Every one of them was wearing serious expressions. Aleen could felt a kind of intangible pressure coming from them. The combined pressure was comparable to the pressure emitted by a level-four creature!

Once Aleen and Aya entered the hall, all the eyes turned towards them. Some of the eyes showed curiosity, others friendliness. But most of the gazes showed caution.

Aleen was startled when he felt the gazes, but he quickly composed himself. After experiencing so many life and death situations on Dimensional Paradise, he was not going to be intimidated for a few gazes.

Aya, on the other hand, showed a weaker reaction. She hugged Lily tightly and hid behind Aleen’s back. Aleen could only smile wryly while thinking that she seemed like a timid kid.

At that moment, someone approached them.

It was a human male. The man looked pretty young, around twenty-three or twenty-four years old. He walked slowly towards Aleen and Aya while showing a friendly smile.

“Two more human friends, huh? Very good. I never expected that so many humans would be here.”

Aleen looked warily at the man without answering. The man smiled wryly seeing it and extended his hand. “Clane Greia, a cultivator. Pleased to meet you.”

“… Aleen Hamill, enlightened. She is Aya.” Aleen hesitated for a moment before shaking his hand.

The man nodded in a friendly manner. “You two don’t know much about this place, right?” Aleen showed a surprised expression, but the man put on an it-showed-on-your-face expression and pointed to a table nearby.

“Come with me, I’ll introduce you to some other people and explain things to you if you want.”

Aleen looked at Aya to ask for her opinion and saw her nodding slightly, so he agreed.

The man then guided them toward the table. Another five people were there, three men and two women, all humans. They looked at Aleen and Aya curiously and nodded as a greeting.

“They are George, Azula, Reirna, Clara, and Itwuld. All of them powerful level-two.” Clane pointed to the five people and introduced them. Aleen nodded to each one of them with a neutral expression. He then looked at Clane asking for the reason because he invited him here.

Clane smiled wryly and opened his lips. “Maybe you don’t know, but although the place where we are going is a great opportunity, it’s also a great danger. Every time a group enters the singularity, half of them die inside, sometimes even more. You see, the singularity is a whole new world, and it’s filled with every kind of monster. Of course, the place where we are going doesn’t have any powerful monster, but it would not be strange if we face a level-three. If we are unlucky, even a level-four monster can appear.”

Aleen’s expression changed. Facing a level-four monster, he can only escape, and even that is not completely certain.

However, Clane's next words made him frown.

Looking at the different races reunited in the hall, Clane put on a complicated expression. “Actually, monsters are not the greatest danger inside. Instead, it’s the other participants.”

“… What do you mean?” Aleen asked.

This time it was Reirna, one of the women, who answered. “You probably already know, but the laws inside the singularity are messy and disordered. Due to it, strange creatures and opportunities are born inside, and every time we kill a creature, we can get a glimpse of the laws it has comprehended.

“But at the same time, if we are killed, then other people can get a glimpse of our laws. And as you know, the laws that intelligent beings comprehend tend to be superior to the laws of beasts.”

Aleen instantly wrinkled his brows. “In other words, other people will try to kill us for our laws?”

“Exactly.” Replied Clane. “It’s the reason because I brought you here. We are going to be separated when we enter the singularity, but I hope that if any of us see another in danger, we can help each other.”

The other five people nodded. Aleen thought for a while before nodding too. He was not sure if they were trustworthy, but he was not going to antagonize them based on his suspicions alone.

Besides, he would not mind helping them if he had the leeway. Who knows, maybe he could end needing their help too.

Clane nodded satisfied when he saw Aleen’s answer. He then pointed to himself and grinned. “Actually, I’m an irregular, so you can be reassured that if I see any of you in danger, I’ll help.”

Aleen showed a surprised expression when he heard Clane’s words.

Irregulars, he had read about them in the archives he bought.

People who can’t be measured by the standards of levels. Even the weakest irregular can fight a few people of the same level. Fighting someone one level higher is just the usual for them.

So, if Clane was an irregular, it means that he is at least as strong as a normal level-three despite still being level-two.

When Clane saw Aleen’s expression of surprise, he smiled wryly. “Actually, I’m not so incredible as you think. He, on the other hand, is the true thing.” He then moved his eyes toward someone in the hall.

Aleen followed his gaze and saw a gigantic man. The man was around four meters tall, with a sturdy body and a stony expression. Aleen could felt a strange pressure coming from his body, as though the earth itself was crushing him.

“He is Vulkan, a titan. I heard he is an enlightened and a cultivator at the same time. Even between level-three, he is very strong!” Clane said with an expression of dread. “Fortunately, titans care a lot over honor. Otherwise, he would create a bloodbath inside the singularity.”

A heavy atmosphere appeared around the group. Aleen could feel that everybody was wondering how to face someone so strong.”

At that moment, a group of people appeared in the hall.

The hall instantly fell silent when they entered. Aleen's gaze moved towards them and instantly recognized Leona.

Leona looked briefly at Aleen and nodded, so Aleen nodded back. Then, Leona moved her gaze away.

When Aleen was wondering about their identity, the man leading the group spoke. “Warriors, the entrance to the singularity will be opened soon. If any of you don’t want to go inside, please raise your hand now.”

Nobody in the hall moved.

Seeing that, the man nodded satisfied. “Very well, now follow me.”
