02: The same and yet new world (2)

After seeing the fight, he quickly makes his way out of the scene. Being isekaied explains so much about Ky's situation.

However, despite that news, there are still questions inside his head, if he was indeed isekaied, then who safe him and bring him to the hospital? There is still that question inside Ky's head. But Ky quickly dismissed that question because he had a bigger problem that he had to deal with.

Since he has been isekaied, he is now in a city that he has no idea of, in a world that he does not know of, and, worse of all, he is entirely broke, homeless and moneyless. He only has his phone and cloth, which are as helpful as a rock in this situation.

After walking for quite some time, Ky stops and sits at one of the nearby benches. With a deep breath from his mouth and nose, Ky gathers up his thoughts, stops panicking, and tries to make sense of his situation.

'Ok, Ky, think about the situation. First, I was hit by a car, lost consciousness, and the next thing I knew, I woke up in bed after three days of unconsciousness, in a hospital, in a city I had no idea of. After that, I was discharged, and the next thing I knew, I saw people fighting a red skin Orc on the street. If this is not a different world, I don't know what else.

Despite the similarity in culture and architecture, this world has some subtle differences and how they operate. And even then, it is not safe for me to assume that all of this world would be the same as my previous one. What about this world history? Geography? Or society as a whole? How does it work and operate? With the existence of superpower people, the laws and community of this world should be different from those in my previous world.

But that is not my biggest concern right now. More concerning is the fact that this world has a fantasy element. Mana vein and Sorcerer are the terms that the doctor used to describe me.

Mana's vein, from the name alone, I can deduce that it works the same as blood vessel and deliver and run mana along our body, but that would lead to another question, if there is a mana vein, those veins must be used to provide mana, then the question would be, what is mana? And how does it work? And where did it come from or generate from? I could answer those questions later. From what I can gather, I awaken my mana vein due to my severe injuries. Does that mean awakening my mana vein can only be achieved by sustaining severe injuries, or can other methods awaken it?

Next is Sorcerer; I can safely assume that it is a name for a job or title for those who use mana for X reasons. The X reasons can be anything, but they seem to be used to combat monsters. Can mana be used for something else, like healing or creating objects? Considering my acceleration in natural recovery, it is reasonable to assume that it can be used to heal other people.

And from what I heard, the doctor asked me to register as a Sorcerer, indicating that an organisation or association controls or employs these Sorcerers. But if an organisation manages and uses Sorcerers, there must also be different ranks of Sorcerers, differentiating them from strength to strength. Not to mention, how does registering as a Sorcerer work? Is it like a job interview where they will ask questions, and you answer? Will I have to do some exams before registering as a Sorcerer? Or do I need a physical exam to prove the awakening of my mana? Or maybe, it's both written and practical exams? How would it truly work? So many questions, so few answers.

Last but not least is the existence of monsters.

While I only see one monster so far, there is no reason for me not to assume that there is more than one type of monster species in this world. However, the questions would then be, what are their origins, or where did these come from?

Right now, I only have three theories about these monsters.

First, they are natural beings that live and evolve on this planet like all other animals. Second, they are beings that are born from mana. Third, they are beings from another world that come to this world through… Let's say a portal.

The first theory is the least possible one. If there are monsters that live and evolve naturally on this planet like animals, humanity should not have existed or survived long enough to develop to this point. The only reason that humanity only survived and grew this far is because of pure coincidence and luck. Introducing a new factor in humanity's evolutionary path can cause that path to derail and can easily lead to the extinction of humanity. And suppose humanity somehow survived, the pure chance of the architecture and society of this world that humans develop to be the same as my previous world. In that case, that happening is statically possible but logically impossible.

The second theory is the fact that they are beings born from mana. With humanity producing mana, that mana forms shape and consciousness and creates monsters. Possible, but no evidence suggesting this because if that is the case, then I would have guessed more monsters are roaming around in this world. My lack of knowledge and understanding of mana doesn't help to support this theory at all.

And the last theory is that the monsters come from another due to portals or something else. A theory with the most possibility to be accurate, but at the same time, there is no evidence to support this.' As Ky thought, running in overdrive, he could only scratch his head in annoyance before leaning back against the bench.

"This is so annoying." Ky mutter to himself, his lack of knowledge is something that he doesn't like, but at the same, there is a slight excitement in his heart about the prospect of learning something entirely new that he has no idea of.

However, Ky quickly crushes that excitement down because, in the end, he knows that the more he gets excited, the bigger the disappointment in the future will be. A feeling that Ky never wants to feel anymore, so he quickly crushes that excitement away.

"My phone has no connection, and I have no money; asking people about this world would only make me look like a crazy person." Ky says, "I guess it's time to go with the old fashion way of learning more information. It's time to use the library."

With that goal in mind, Ky stands up from the bench; however, at the same time, he also realises something.

"I have no idea where the library is." Ky says again, looking toward the blue sky, "Well, I could just ask people where the library is."

And so Ky now how to plan, ask people where the library is, use it to find more information about this world, and learn its history, geography, and culture. But most importantly, learn more about the fantasy aspect of this world.
